Clean, friendly staff, located close to Mt. Rushmore, Black Forest, and Crazy Horse Monument
What I didn't care for was your carpeting going up the stairs to the 2nd floor. It has a weird geometric design and my wife and I both mentioned our first night there that it was hard to differentiate between the steps because of the design. Then on Saturday morning while leaving, I missed the last step or two and fell. Related to this fall I broke my nose and aggravated some arthritis in my shoulder causing me to miss at least two days of work upon my return to our home in Michigan. Otherwise, everything seemed fine.
Good location and hotel was generally clean. Disappointing that there were no COVID precautions in place, including no masks on any employees. Also no front desk staff present to check in or answer my repeated phone calls as I stood there waiting to check in for nearly 10 mins. Popular hotel with bikers, who start their bikes and let them idle at all hours of the night and early morning, right outside window.
The hotel was clean, the room was great. We stay here in February of every year to visit the hills.
The staff was nice, but the rooms are old. I was expecting more since it has the Wyndham banner
It is in a great area. Close to sites we wanted to visit.
It was very disappointing to find out that the pool and hot tub, although indoors, are seasonal and weren't filled or open. We had chosen the hotel mostly because it had a pool and hot tub and were really looking forward to enjoying a relaxing weekend there.
Staff was friendly, breakfast was good and location was good for Mt Rushmore.
we used the Super 8 in Custer as starting point to see Mount Rushmore, Sturgis and Devil's tower.
Arrived late and had no trouble checking in. Breakfast was very satisfactory!
Older hotel. Ok for price.breakfast could use improvement
Staff was polite and helpful, bed was comfortable, room was clean, fridge and.microwave in room. Very close to.Custer State Park where we ended up spending more time than at Mt Rushmore. Easy to get to all locations in the area.
I was a bit worried about the Super 8 hotel chain in general. But this hotel was the cleanest, nicest, friendliest hotel of all our stay. We let the staff know how happy we were and was told that the owner takes pride in the property and has invested every year to insure it stays that way. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Great value especially late day reservations. Very helpful staff, and great location to all areas of interest!
Room was ok..pillows were too small..breakfast was ok...showers were good...pool was so smelly with chlorine! No circulation...couldn't stand being in there for more than 15 minutes...no place to gather with family...
I wanted to stay in Custer because my daughter is staying in Custer State Park for most of the summer. I could not afford to stay in a hotel in the park so I wanted to be as close as possible knowing that I would be going to and fro quite a bit. The first thing that I checked for were bed bugs since this seems to now be a real issue. Mattresses were clean and they were comfortable. The staff were fantastic, very helpful and accomodating. The only negatives were: the pool was pretty cold and the bathrooms (though very clean) were rather small.

We are so very sorry that this happened and we are looking into this carpet issue to make sure that this does not happen again. We are a branded motel and our carpeting is chosen through the brand but I will be calling them and letting them know what happened so we can change what we need to to ensure all our guests are safe and as comfortable as possible. Please accept our sincere apology and know that I am going to take care of this. If there is anything at all that I can do to make this right, then please let me know!
