I have stayed there 2 weeks with my husband, It was my first time in Brazil and I really apreciated my experience at Mercure Curitiba Batel. The room was cleaned and the staff really made my experience amazing as I could not speak any words of Brazilian they help me a lot and were really understanding. Extra thanks to Rita, working at the restaurant for the breakfast service, she was always smiling, chatty and made me feel at home away from home. Obrigada!
I do not know what to say anymore, what I had to say I already reported on a form sent by the Accor website. I am very disappointed, do not recommend to any maniera, extremely dirty and noisy the hotel. it's a shame for the Accor.
I was there for a business trip. The room is huge, and it was very cold. It was not possible to warm up the room, so I slept with 2 old covers. No specifing heating for the bathroom. For tea / coffee, you have to boil the water in the microwave. I ordered room service twice. First time, my hot soup was cold. The hotel was probably nice in the 60s, no modernisation since this date. There is kitchenettes but no furnitures The receptionist canceled my online reservation (pre checkin) to do it by himself. I've asked him several time to add my fidelity card number, but he didn't do anything. Funny stuff, I wrote to Accor to complain about my journey there, & they refused to add these nights to my fidelity number and to register my complaint. They said that I didn't stay there because my online reservation was cancelled. Despite the fact, that, I've send them my bill twice
I visited this hotel for a business purpose. When visiting Curitiba, I suggest checking about local practice, e.g._ • This hotel does not have own taxi service, so you cannot use taxi and charge it to the room, but hotel can request a taxi for you and you can pay with credit card (you have to specify what credit card will you use because not all taxis accept AMEX and DinersClub • Restaurants close around 1430 and reopen around 1830, so if you are late for lunch, take this into consideration. PROS Located in a peaceful area CONS Internet connection is awful: unstable and extremely slow Rooms in lower levels are noisy due to hotel air conditioning system Hotel does not have own taxi service, so you cannot use taxi and charge it to the room, but hotel can request a taxi for you and you can pay with credit card (you have to specify what credit card will you use because not all taxis accept AMEX and DinersClub
We traveled to Curitiba at the last carnival. And we decided to stay in a chain hotel, because of economy. And we got it right! The hotel is very well located in a prime neighborhood of Curitiba, close to bars, shopping malls and easy access to sights. The service was very good. The facilities are large and very well cleaned. It is an old building, but in good condition. The breakfast is very good with options to suit all tastes. If you are looking for good value for money, without much luxury, choose this hotel!
My husband and I stayed at the Mercure Batel for a weekend in Curitiba. At check-in, the staff was very friendly and efficient. Our stay included a breakfast buffet, which was good and had a variety of items. Unfortunately, the stay gets only two stars due to the room. The room and hallway smelled musty, and the mattress was very soft. I woke up each day with a back ache due to the mattress. During the night, it felt like my husband and I were rolling inward. Either the mattress was very cheap or very old. I expect this to be a basic issue for a hotel to deliver, and we were disappointed.
When you enter to the hotel you see well design, but the rooms has to be renovated. Old furniture. My room was having a strange smell. Wi-fi is also very slow and disconnecting from your device frequently.
The hotel is generally what you expect from a Mercure hotel. The location is great and it is easy to go around. The usual gym is well equipped and the pool is - more - or less standard. Breakfast is marvellous... one thing you don't want to miss.
Dear all - do not ever dream of staying at this hotel! Staff are rude and the check-in process took 1 hour!!!! Making this this even worse was the fact that i had made the express check-in on-line. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had at an Accor hotel.
I had a very big room, with all the necessary facilities. One day the wifi was not working properly, but this was solved later on, so i suppose just a little hikup in the system. The service at checkin, reception, restaurant, .... was extremely friendly and pleasant. Good location close to some shoppings.
