I visited this hotel for a business purpose. When visiting Curitiba, I suggest checking about local practice, e.g._ • This hotel does not have own taxi service, so you cannot use taxi and charge it to the room, but hotel can request a taxi for you and you can pay with credit card (you have to specify what credit card will you use because not all taxis accept AMEX and DinersClub • Restaurants close around 1430 and reopen around 1830, so if you are late for lunch, take this into consideration. PROS Located in a peaceful area CONS Internet connection is awful: unstable and extremely slow Rooms in lower levels are noisy due to hotel air conditioning system Hotel does not have own taxi service, so you cannot use taxi and charge it to the room, but hotel can request a taxi for you and you can pay with credit card (you have to specify what credit card will you use because not all taxis accept AMEX and DinersClub
We traveled to Curitiba at the last carnival. And we decided to stay in a chain hotel, because of economy. And we got it right! The hotel is very well located in a prime neighborhood of Curitiba, close to bars, shopping malls and easy access to sights. The service was very good. The facilities are large and very well cleaned. It is an old building, but in good condition. The breakfast is very good with options to suit all tastes. If you are looking for good value for money, without much luxury, choose this hotel!
My husband and I stayed at the Mercure Batel for a weekend in Curitiba. At check-in, the staff was very friendly and efficient. Our stay included a breakfast buffet, which was good and had a variety of items. Unfortunately, the stay gets only two stars due to the room. The room and hallway smelled musty, and the mattress was very soft. I woke up each day with a back ache due to the mattress. During the night, it felt like my husband and I were rolling inward. Either the mattress was very cheap or very old. I expect this to be a basic issue for a hotel to deliver, and we were disappointed.
When you enter to the hotel you see well design, but the rooms has to be renovated. Old furniture. My room was having a strange smell. Wi-fi is also very slow and disconnecting from your device frequently.
The hotel is generally what you expect from a Mercure hotel. The location is great and it is easy to go around. The usual gym is well equipped and the pool is - more - or less standard. Breakfast is marvellous... one thing you don't want to miss.
Dear all - do not ever dream of staying at this hotel! Staff are rude and the check-in process took 1 hour!!!! Making this this even worse was the fact that i had made the express check-in on-line. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had at an Accor hotel.
I had a very big room, with all the necessary facilities. One day the wifi was not working properly, but this was solved later on, so i suppose just a little hikup in the system. The service at checkin, reception, restaurant, .... was extremely friendly and pleasant. Good location close to some shoppings.
After 2 bad stays in this city at other hotels we tried Mercure and it was great. From the staff parking your car to the friendly people at the desk we felt welcome the entire time. The place was very clean (outside/lobby/elevator/rooms/hall/dining) and comfortable. The rooms included a refrigerator, desk, closet, safe, cable tv, comfortable bed, extra pillows, and a nice bathroom. There was a view of other buildings but I care more about my night's stay instead of what is out the window. With the windows closed the room was very quiet. The included breakfast had many options and was very good with several workers present to keep the food filled on the buffet. I would definitely stay at this hotel on my next visit.
The hotel is located 20 minutes from airport . Location of hotel provides great walking opportunities to local parks and several large malls. If you want to take the bus , the bus stop for main line travel is located several minutes away from hotel. A large grocery store is located only minutes away. The hotel offers a fantastic breakfast buffet that you will want to take advantage of when staying at this hotel. Large selection of breakfast dishes along with friendly help.
When I checked in, there were many staff in reception but nobody called me actually even though I approached in front of them nobody received me they just glanced at me. So I asked to them "Can I check in here?" "Who can help me to check in?" and then one staff received me but I thought that nobody wanted to talk with me. When I checked out....I told to reception "Good morning" but he didnt answer he just received my hotel card key and did his job. After the checking out, I told him "Thank you and good bye" but he didn't reply my words and he just looked at his right side. Well there were no people at this time to check out and I couldn't believe that how he could do it. Anyhow my friend Brasileiro beside me told "E muito mal educado aqui" I've stayed standard room has kitchen but there was no microwave and nothing to cook even though there was no cattle. Anyhow I asked something to boield water and I could drink a coffee. This hotel is not good for stay comfortable especially if you are Aisan you don't have to stay Mercure Batel because I felt some discrimination in here at reception. There are many better hotel in this area. I am not going to stay here again and I am going to tell what I've experienced here to my all friends to make them avoid this bad experience. Also I cant believe Accor brand anymore, it was my terrible experience what I have never felt in hotel reception.
