Everything was great, although we would have appreciated free WiFi. A little ways away from the city center and beach, but still walking distance. Very quiet, very clean, everything we needed for a nice stay.
It’s an apartment not a resort. Not a hotel. No gym. Pool closed 10 months/yr. No way to park in order to register. One small load of wash allowed. No dryer. Clothes pins provided. You have to pay two additional taxes for the place. They give you 4 keys to get in the building, the unit, the garage, and to get out. You pay 400 euros if you lose one. It has no restaurant. They did not mention they have another key if you want to use the safe. We feel mislead since you called it a silver crown resort.
ONA JARDINES PARAISOL. SALOU.SPAIN 17-24 march 2018 Greeting from the reception was good by Amin and very helpful, (but never saw him again) as seem most staff at reception when its open. 9 to 9pm daily... For emergencies find phone outside reception and call.. who???? Place is in 2 or 3 blocks. We were in 2507. I.e block 2 level 5 room 07 overlooking an ungainly looking block of flats across the busy and noisy road. You have been warned now. The place is very noisy from either guests or the Residents in the blocks late at night till 4am!!Tuesday 20th.. D I Y till 4am with generator running! Kiddies shouting very early to both inside snd outside, school,is 200 metres away. You cannot ring reception to stop it. Room is very clean and functionable but very basic. No English T V 40,plus stations in Spanish and CNN. so you rely on wi-fi on cell phone or tablet. OH hold on at 20 euros per week per gadget 2 people its €40. Pay for 1 and only 1gadget connects,! Ah must put money, passports etc. in room safe. Once youve found it, no lock, back to reception another 20 euros to go with the 30 euro electricty charge.. so far 90 euros gone. Cannot say we liked it all and wont be rushing back. Stayed all over with RCI and this is very poor indeed. In my opinion some hotel chain has bought the rooms as residents move out. No bar or restaurant of course...1 or 2 kms to good bars and restaurants. Connections to Barcelona by bus 2 hours or, train which is good. 1hr 40 mins...Salou resort a couple of kms away will be a nice place i would imagine in summer but in March it is quieter and weather changeable and around here a @ghost town by 2130hours. This area is all residental. The bar next door is open late and is very good value for food n drink. Spar close by plus 2 others a few hundred metres away. Very puzzled how RCI gave this place a silver crown for the past 5 years when we own gold crown and it is light years better than here. Not even salt n pepper provided or a kettle provided, ask at reception for it. Bedding and towels changed mid week. Who am i to say. Oh yes . An owner and holiday maker who owns gold crown in Calahonda for 25years and who paid a lot for little in this case.. not just my opinion , read all reviews and judge for yourself.. Maybe summer things will change in Salou but the complex wont apart from the pool which opens in June. Totally no facilities and your share with residents and many kiddies who are in all the blocks. Hurry back.?....I think not.! So much could be done to improve holiday makers facilities
We went for a week in early March. The apartment was clean and had good facilities, and is well located in a residential area about ten minutes walk from the promenade and beach. The bed was comfortable, and we generally slept well however you can sometimes hear other residents of the complex. The reception staff were very helpful and provided information on local supermarkets, restaurants and tours we could do. They also supplied an adapter when I realised I'd brought the wrong ones from home, which was very nice. We found it a good base to explore the area, and you do not need a car with excellent public transport available to get to Barcelona, Tarragona, Reus etc. The trains were very good and punctual, if in my opinion a bit slow for the journey to Barcelona (1 hour 30 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes for a 100 km journey). There are plenty of restaurants nearby, within 10 minutes walk, and we excellent meals the four times we ate out in Salou. I had read some previous reviews and could not understand the comment of one reviewer that he had to drive 2 km to find a place to eat, a quick glance on Google maps will show you that's not true. We ate in Barcelona one evening, catching the last train back to Salou (beware it's at 21:03, quite early) and ate in the apartment two evenings. There are two small supermarkets within 3 minutes walk and the larger Mercadona is about 7 minutes walk. Overall we really enjoyed our holiday. The only downsides were no oven in the apartment (hob and microwave only), and the walls are a bit thin. Having to pay for WiFi in the apartment is also a bit poor in this day and age when there is city wide free WiFi in places like Barcelona. You also have to ask for a kettle at reception for some reason, though there's no charge, I couldn't work out why they did this. I also think that as we were in a one bed sleep 4 (double sofa bed in lounge) that if there were four of you it would be a bit cramped.
I stayed here for a week with my aunt and uncle and we very much enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is walking distance to the beach, shops, restaurants, and bus stops. We arrived very tired after having traveled for two weeks and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. Joanne was very sweet, accommodating, and helpful! She assisted us with changing the dates of our stay and helping us find the market and helped us with the bus route. She also helped me find restaurants that had vegetarian options. Thank you, Joanne! The room was very clean and spacious. I loved the pool area - it was relaxing and quiet and the slide was awesome! I met some friendly people in the pool area. My only complaint was that we could only have one mobile device on wi-fi at a time. But I would still visit again because no need to be on mobile device all the time when on vacation. :)
looking at the photos and reading the descripton on booking.com the establishment gives the impression this is a really nice holiday complex, sadly it is not. i chose this apartment to its proximity to stay after a day at portaventura. its in a residential area and residential complex. There are balconies strewn with clothes, its very scruffy. The pool area in photos looks really pretty in reality its not..its surrounding by closed down shops or offices? Really grubby patios slabs, i would not want to sit around that pool. The apartment itself is clean and functional, but bland, the traffic outside is very noisy and the walls are paper thin. We had to drive 2km to find any food and quite frankly salou is the most depressing place I have ever been too. If all you want to do is get drunk on cheap booze and eat kababs and be surround by tacky UK culture and not spanish this is the place for you.
Roomy one bedroom close to beach, though no rooms have ocean view. Staff is so nice! Good black-out shades and quiet A/C. Never went to the pool. There lots of restaurants in walking distance. Easy bus ride from Barcelona airport. Cool vibe in town, though lots of non-Spanish. Loved it regardless.
The apartment was too small for my family. There were residents and apartments for rent in the same building, so the experience was uncomfortable. Elevators looked dirty and very old. I stayed for less than a week, and the room was cleaned just twice. I interchanged a week through Interval, but I honestly think this hotel should not even be on their list. I heard some people complaining about the wifi connection. Receptionists were not always available, and nobody answered my calls whenever I tried to contact them from the room, even during the day. In general, I would not stay there again.
Where do I start. Noisy apartment full of Spanish kids at the pool screaming and shouting parents letting them do what they want it's like a zoo NOT for relaxing Grass cutting will wake you up at 8.30! no notification of this, can hear everything in the apartment neighbours shouting and having party's at 3am drunk young boys so disappointed will not return back here if you paid me.
My family and I love Salou. We go every chance we get and this is the perfect resort. Rodi was our attendant and she was just fabulous. Great experience for me and my family! The room was clean and spacious.
