The property is currently under renovation for the next 4 months.

Gorgeous location, but under a lot of construction. Lack of communication on texting us our room, 30 minutes past check in time.

I thought it would be fun to take my 16 year old daughter to the Del Coronado Hotel for Xmas. Boy was I wrong! The $380 room in the Ocean Towers overlooked the main trash bin area and a very busy construction site. The workers were at it all day with jack hammers and moving trucks, loading and unloading dirt. We were woken up by the outside noise at 6 am when the construction started and kept awake by hammering inside the hallway and adjacent rooms all morning. I am a tea drinker and there was not even a tea bag in the room and the mini-fridge was empty. We are world travelers and I can honestly say that even in the middle of the jungle of any developing countries, any hotel would have tea bags for guests. During our short night of sleep, we were kept awake by the strobing light of the smoke alarm that would flash every 30 seconds. My daughter who loves staying in hotels commented that she didn't even feel comfortable as the hotel room was very impersonal and the TV screen was so cheap every show we watched was very low res. There were so many tourists it was a zoo everywhere. We stood 30 minutes in line to check out. There was no concierge in sight so I asked the valets about sushi recommendations but they had no idea where they were. We took the car & realized that they were 2 sushi places right across the street within 2 minutes walk!! The stay was a comedy of errors. We are positive people and made the most of our stay by creating our own fun by ignoring the hotel.

Very unique hotel, the inside shops were a surprise

Internet was really bad. Sunday after checkout we had to wait for our car 45minutes. They had a lot of people there because of the brunch. In that case they should have a more organized system to deliver cars. After 30min my husband walk to the valet person and noticed our car keys were still on the counter. His response was “There is too many people so what do you want me to do”

It was historic, nice views, easy access to beach, friendly staff. Negatives are small room, our view was not great, room did not seem well sound proof (a lot of slamming doors or rolling carts)

Service & propertu I really enjoyed the spa services & especially the spa pool.

The hotel grounds I like. I did not like that current parking arrangement

Remember that you’re on an island in Southern California and that everything is overpriced. Nothing is actually worth what you’re paying...but they’ve got you over a barrel. Just plan for things to cost three times what you’re used to.

Likes beach, view, spa, dislike pool, small bathroom

I paid an additional $190 a night for an ocean view and there was construction right outside my window all day, and at night there was a loud live band playing until after 11:00 pm. They should have let me know about these conditions before I paid for an upgrade

This property was amazing. Beautiful and elegant!

We like the beach, variety of restaurants, room, ice cream shop, easy access.

History & location is great. Too much construction & carpet in our room was worn out. Gym was small & dark. Charged too much for your tour.

Staff is horrible! Especially for a 5 star resort. Room was not up to par for what you pay for. Save your money, outside of the location it is not worth the money!!

Location is great and staff was friendly. The rooms were fine but not worth the price. The best parts of the hotel are the location and the bars and restaurants. You can enjoy all of these things without being a guest of the hotel. We will be back to Coronado but will probably stay at a different hotel. We'll still walk down to the Hotel Del for a drink on the beach to enjoy the sunset!
