We stayed two nights and loved this hotel. Helpful reception, lovely room with a bathroom and bath and two different fans. There is a beautiful pool but it was raining and so we could not swim. The large area with bar at reception was very nice and we sat there and had gin and tonics both evenings before eating in their fabulous restaurant, again both evenings. The choice of set menu, menu degustation and à la Carte were excellent. On our first evening ( our 35th wedding anniversary) we had the menu degustation and it was superb and the next evening we had a seasonal menu and again excellent. We found that the only let down was the breakfast. On our first morning both coffee machines were not working and there were no staff around at all to resolve the problem. Eventually a guest worked out that the water had ran out and managed to refill and get the queue moving for coffee. Also many dishes were empty that had cake on from the look of the crumbs but after 30 minutes, it was not replenished. Their baguette was delicious so the next morning we were looking forward to it but there was none. When a lady arrived to check on things I asked for baguette and she showed me the tiny individual ones that were very hard and not good. A shame really, breakfast was the only let down to a fab hotel.
Why so many good reviews? The pool was ok; small but clean with slightly odd sloping sides - but most welcome in the July heat. The rest of our experience was poor. I think this place is really an event venue with a catering and traitteur business; it is not focussed on travelling guests. You have only to look at the ratio of rooms to event space to know this. The room was very average, with no aircon - hopelessly hot - with large insecure windows which when opened let in heat and guest’s noise. The dinner was poor. The service was pretty disinterested and my wife pronounced the kir vin blanc the worst she had ever tasted - far too sweet with no edge to the wine. Food was very unremarkable given the so-called reputation of the property. Breakfast almost became a farce! There was one decent sized cereal bowl left between the two of us. I asked the young waitress in French for another and was told there were no more. Well having by now realised how the place had no idea about service off I went to wash one up in our room. All poor. Last time we broke our A4 journey in this area we used the Novotel in Saint Avold. You should too. Better beds, aircon, etc less money with good restaurants very close by.
We just had a meal and chose the Lorraine menu. The food was very good, but we found the glass of wine niggardly. we expected something more generous. Usually when you ask for a glass of wine the serving is much more generous! But the wine was good.
This hotel was our stay for one night only on our way to the Loire valley. The decor of the room and the hall is warm and elegant. Breakfast was quite nice with a good selection of pastries. Our immense gratitude goes to the staff, though, willing to guide us through the main entrance although we arrived at an impossible hour 1:30AM!).
I can fault nothing about this beautiful hotel. We stayed one night on the way back from a holiday in Italy and were pleased to find such a great hotel in a region that we have previously struggled to find much before. The rooms are lovely, with comfortable beds and nicely appointed bathroom. We were travelling with our two dogs, so they sensible put us on the second floor (no smoking rooms) at the end of the corridor in room 29. If you are travelling with dogs, ask for this room as then no one needs to walk past the door and disturb them! The staff are all so welcoming and pleasant. The restaurant is cosy and again the staff are sweet. Beware the portions - the Tasting menu is not what you think. It is beautiful food, all very tasty, but the 6 courses are all a la carte size! Wonderful. We joked with the receptionist the following morning that we could not manage breakfast because of the wonderful dinner and size of each course. She laughed and said "our chef is a big man so his portions are big!". Don't let that put you off, it is excellent value and so tasty...but maybe hold back on the bread!! We will return as soon as possible.
We came across this charming and very homely hotel and restaurant in Conde Northern a short distance to the East of Metz. A friendly welcome and very comfortable facilities with an excellent evening meal and breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble, even getting the bikes tyres pumped up before an enjoyable per dinner ride in the countryside.
We stayed in the Grange de Condé for a romantic and relaxing weekend and got exactly what we came for. :) We enjoyed the spa very much! And completed our relaxing weekend with a massage. If you do not know where to eat: the hotel has a restaurant, which is simply delicious! We will go again and highly recommend it, any time of the year!
Nice hotel. Clean rooms. Very friendly staff. I really like kitchen with fantastic wine selection. We are using this hotel as well for conferences. There are as well possibilities for outside activities.
The hotel itself was very well decorated and cozy. It was nice to have a nice dinner at the hotel's restaurant and then return to a comfortable room for the night. Parking was free and very convenient. We drove an hour and a half For a little getaway to stay at this hotel and enjoy a nice dinner, but there's not much else to do here. Of the small spa, the jacuzzi wasn't working while we were there. Also, the hotel apparently allows smoking and despite the fact that we are non smokers, the smell of cigarettes from nearby rooms filled our room in the middle of the night which was very unpleasant. Breakfast was a little pricey and didn't offer much in the way of variety.
We wanted to stay in a hotel close to the highway on route to our wintersports destination, but with a more welcoming and warm atmosphere than the standard hotels found en route. We were pleasantly surprised by this country hotel. Situated about 15 minutes from the Route du Soleil, in a small village, the hotel offers good sized rooms, excellent beds and best of all an excellent restaurant on site. We had a memorable meal and were served in a most pleasant manner. All staff deserve compliments for their excellent level of service and we were made to feel very welcome. Parking in front is limited, but convenient. Ample space to walk our dog, which was a bonus as well. Will definitely return.
