Gross, gross, gross! Do the housekeepers even clean? Huge leak spot on ceiling, bugs all over room, stains on comforters, dirty tub, nothing wiped down, smelled of horrible smoke. Just see the pictures. We left and checked into a different hotel. How does this place have good reviews? Deceiving! Front desk was friendly, so that was the only plus.
I stayed at the property 623 and we got there that night and the night guy Cena was awesome. He checked us in and it was fast. Our room and bathroom was spotless. We will he staying there again when we go. I will give pictures later when we stay again.
Our stay here was great from check in to check out. Great customer service from the staff to the housekeepers. Everything about this hotel I loved! The rooms were nice and clean, and the hotel location is great. The hotel has absolutely no disturbances. I highly recommend this hotel if you're ever in the area. I enjoy my stay here and will definitely stay again!!
We stayed here for one night on way to Florida. It was very reasonably priced, dog friendly (no extra fee) and bed was comfy.. Being close to the airport was surprised at how quiet it was..Doesn’t include anything for breakfast but for the price we couldn’t complain. We would rather stop for breakfast on the road then have hotel type breakfast.
Let’s start with the good things about the property. It’s very near the airport, some restaurants and a gas station. It’s recently been renovated and that looks nice. There is ample parking, and staff was proficient and courteous. The bad things, unfortunately, outweigh the good. I am a big fan of Red Roof and try to stay there whenever possible, as the brand is known for budget accommodation that is a great value for the money while being safe and clean. Unfortunately, this place is in a seedy area and suffers accordingly. While the rest of the room was very clean, the room floor was so dirty it stained my socks, and the room door looked like it had been broken into at some point. Additionally, the quality of the bed frame in terms of support was poor and the toilet wasn’t properly fastened to the floor. The worst thing was when I happened to notice a used hypodermic needle on top of the tv stand. It was so tall and somewhat hidden that I can’t fault room service for not seeing it, and they did offer to switch me rooms immediately and cleaned up the needle, but yeah, that’s a huge indicator of the area that is in, unfortunately. I can’t fault their response and can’t blame them for what others do, but that really turns a guest off. The property is trying to make things better, I think, but they’re not quite there and they don’t as of yet live up to the red roof brand. I did see the night manager make rounds through the parking lot and there are cameras so they are trying. There are other hotels down the road that cost only $10- $20 a night more that are far better for your airport stay needs.
Checkin time was 2pm. We arrived at 4pm and no room was ready. Finally got room assignment but before entering, clerk came out and said that room was already occupied. After a while, got another room. Went to room and keys did not work. Had to go to lobby to get re-keyed.
We stayed here for one night on way to Florida. It was very reasonably priced, dog friendly (no extra fee) and bed was comfy. Cleaning was not the greatest however...hair in bath tub and windows dirty. Being close to the airport was surprised at how quiet it was...that was until I was awoken at 2:30am by people coming in next door with a super loud car, banging doors and talking (among other things) extremely loud until they checked out at 6:30am (after leaving their car run for half hour rumbling outside). Up until that point it was a good night. Doesn’t include anything for breakfast but for the price we couldn’t complain.
I’ve stayed here in the past. The hotel is clean and reasonably priced. Very convient location. Staff is always pleasant. Older property but kept up well. Wolfe went above and beyond to keep my stay pleasant.
Decent room at good price. However, there was no hot water in the morning and I was unable to take a shower. Desk clerk seemed indifferent about it. Also discovered after I checked out that they charged me an extra $3.00 in addition to the rate on my confirmation, with no explanation. No big deal really, just principle of it. Also, obvious stains on the bed cover of "unknown" origin. Certainly should not have been used in that condition. Overall, not the usual good experience that I normally have at Red Roof.
Had a couple issues with the lack of cleanliness of the room. The manager made efforts to resolve. It is an inexpensive stay so not expecting the Taj Mahal but also a bit of seedy clientele and surroundings. The hurricane was passing through as we stayed and some homeless spent time sleeping on our balconies out of the storm. You do have to feel compassion for their plight and actually commend management for not shooing them out into the elements. We stayed to attend my granddaughter's graduation from boot camp at Ft. Jackson.
