The 1901 Loft - Heart of Old Colorado City, walking distance to everything
The best location in all of Old Colorado City! Located on Colorado Avenue in downtown Old Colorado City in a 100+ year-old historic building. There is no better way to experience Old Colorado City than at the 1901 Loft.
This large studio loft is true to the historic roots of this 1901 building. Over time this building has hosted an ice cream and sweets shop, an opera house, a vaudeville theater, and workshops for local artists. The building now has Mother Muff's on the ground floor, offices on the second floor, and four residential units on the third floor.
Please note that this is a historic building and there is NO elevator. There is a wide stairway with 52 steps to the third floor. There is a chairlift that will get you (or a piece of luggage) most of the way up and down the staircase. But, there are a handful of stairs that must be walked, no matter what.
This 1100 sq. ft. (100 sq. meters) unit is a completely open floor plan with two distinct sleeping areas, a full kitchen, large dining table that seats eight, living room, primary bathroom, and half bathroom. It also has a walk-in closet with washer and dryer. Finally there is an outdoor patio with views of Old Colorado city and Pikes Peak.
The living room has a large state-of-the-art OLED TV with Netflix, Hulu, Max, and Disney streaming services. There is also a gas fireplace in the living room to provide gentle heat on cooler nights.
The primary sleeping area is a luxurious king size, all natural, Wink bed that is made with an organic cotton cover and all natural Talalay latex. The primary sleeping area also has a 45" TV with the same streaming services as the living room.
The primary bathroom is a five piece bathroom with two sinks, a large bathtub, and a shower. The second bathroom is a half bath with no shower or tub.
A fully apportioned kitchen is complemented by a unique 8-person dining room table. This beautiful and unique concrete and iron table can host large meals during your visit and is the perfect place for game nights. When you are there, give the corner of the table a small lift to feel its weight and then imagine the work it took to get it to the third floor.
Next to the patio doors is a queen size Murphy bed. This mattress is the same Wink bed with an organic cotton cover and all natural Talalay latex. It is very quick and easy to pull day and put back up when not in use.
There are multiple work areas in the unit. There are two desks and a small round table that are perfect locations if you need to get a little work done while you are here. High-speed and reliable Wi-Fi is provided.
The outdoor patio has a small table and a couple of chairs to enjoy the fresh air and the views of Old Colorado City and Pikes Peak.
The unit also comes with one private garage space.
The apartment is air-conditioned and features a kitchen, 1.5 bathrooms, and a balcony. Other standard amenities include a washing machine, a fireplace, and a coffee maker.

We had a fabulous stay at the Loft. The space is beautiful with eclectic touches and the perfect location. You can see Pike's Peak from the balcony. Kitchen is well stocked with cooking supplies, bed is exceptionally comfortable, and the little touches everywhere shows that Jeff and Nicole are hosts for the joy of showing Old Colorado City to vacationeers. They were quick with any questions we had. The absolute perfect start to our Colorado vacation.

We had a fantastic stay at The 1905 Loft! There was plenty of space for our family of four. The loft was absolutely beautiful and so well appointed. We appreciated thoughtful touches like having phone chargers ready to go for us along with local guides tips on what to do in the area. Jeff and Nicole also placed helpful notes throughout so we could find everything we needed. The beds were really comfortable and we *loved* our time on the outdoor patio. My daughter and I enjoyed breakfast there - it was really striking to take in the mountain views and cityscape all at the same time. The location was a perfect base camp for our weekend adventures. We enjoyed Garden of the Gods, hiking at Seven Falls, an Ultraviolet Underground tour at Cave of the Winds, and shopping in Old Colorado City as well as Manitou Springs. On that note, we highly recommend a stop at the Cat Cafe located just across the street from the loft picking up pastries from La Baguette, located just around the corner.Thank you, Jeff & Nicole, for your hospitality and for helping make this a memorable and special weekend for our family!

2nd time around at 1901 Loft
This is our 2nd time spending a weekend (2 nights) at the loft. Really enjoyed it the second time around because this time we got to enjoy the balcony. Sitting out with a snack and watching the cool cars and motorcycles out…you know it’s time for summer activities when that’s happening. We only had one evening of heavy rains but that was okay we just lounged on the comfy sofa and watched a movie eating the mixed peanuts and chocolate candy we purchased after lunch at the Mountain Man store. It got too late for dinner at the Greek restaurant so we just went and had a delicious pizza at Slice 420 across the street from the chocolate factory. We had the Sofia pizza we added an extra topping of jalapeños to eat…it was delicious!I didn’t cook because we didn’t bring any food with us but if you wanted too everything is there to use for coining and eating and drinking. This place thought of every detail and I guess they would because it’s their home away from.Thank you for allowing us to stay at your home away from home again.Until next time!
