I've been several times in this hotel for the handball Final4. It never was a 5 stars hotel, but price was good for the service. Unfortunately after 4 years staying here, I think I'm not coming back. The rooms last years were a little bit tired and old, while this year I got room 322 and 321 which were new but quite small. One of the problems was that checking-in on friday night I discovered that Wi-Fi was not working on our floor (it worked on the 2nd floor and in reception, but not in our rooms). I noticed it on Saturday morning and the only answer I got was that there was no technician in the house and they could only restart the router to see if it worked. On Sunday I insisted and got the same answer. On Monday morning at check-out time the problem was still there... so no Wi-Fi all the weekend is a major issue when you are abroad, as I had to pay roaming to be able to communicate from my room. We also had a problems during breakfast. It is supposed to be open until 11:00 during weekends, so on Saturday we went between 10:40 an 10:45. They already had run out of almost everything and they didn't bring some more. No bread for toasts, no glasses for juice, no eggs, no croissants,... when we asked the workers for more, they pointed with their finger their wristwatch and told "we are closing". I answer that no way, I was still on time and I wanted my breakfast. I had to contact up to 3 workers when finally the 3rd brought some of the missing things. When I reported to reception what happened, they we're not very understanding and told me that I should understand that's the way they work and the hotel was fully booked. Anyway, she told us that our breakfast would be refunded even if it was already payed with the booking. The last surprise was that during check-out they didn't refund it, so she lied to us...

The hotel is kept up-to-date and refurbished, the only issue is the lift in the part of the hotel where I stayed does not start from the ground floor and one has to drag the suitcase along stairs and corridors, because the hotel is a series of buildings connected together. The bathroom in the room was recently updated and I liked that fact that there was an ample counter to leave my toiletries by the sink. I would also add some coffee making facilities in the room. The personnel are nice and attentive and I liked the charm of the hotel. The location is GREAT

Great stay had a room at the rear of the hotel which was nice and quiet, front desk staff extremely helpful and spoke good English. Breakfast buffet style with vast array of options, the only slight gripe I had was having to stand in the street to have a smoke there was a large courtyard garden and access to this would of been preferable!

I've stayed in a triple room in this hotel with my family. The staff were very friendly and helped with any request we had. The location is great, lot's of pubs and restaurants near by and also a metro station although we had a car. By the way, the hotel has parking for 14Eurs per day, but it's not suitable for big cars. Our room was on 7th floor and was quiet and clean, but very simple. Definitely will advise if you're looking for a low budget hotel in the city center.

Well located hotel, but an odd configuration. To get to my room I had to climb three sets of stairs (one a sort of curving difficult stair) and walk along some narrow, not particularly brightly lit corridors to get to the elevator to my room. There was no offer to help with heavy luggage. The room was on the top floor and had a slopping wall that reduced the useful space of an otherwise large room. The room facilities were a bit more limited than I would expect of a hotel of this class, such as no room safe, very small desk with limited access. It could have been set out much better. The shower room was fairly small. There may be an additional city tax to pay on arrival depending on how you booked (the complex rules were explained to me by the desk clerk). I was given free wifi for two devices, but the ticket had a price on it, so I cannot be sure they would not charge people on a different type of booking.

I was on the same break as the previous two reviewers. I was staying on the other side of the hotel from them and experienced no noise (I think only one of our group noticed it). The room was clean, the shower worked well and the bed was comfy. Plenty of choices at breakfast and lots of places to eat and drink nearby. I could only get a wifi signal in the lobby, zero in room. A couple of minor issues with the room safe and a blocked sink were sorted out immediately - very helpful staff. I would happily stay here again, especially at the very cheap price we paid.

Like other reviewers this hotel was used as a base for a boys weekend in Cologne and was booked as part of a package by BA. The staff were very helpful and the breakfasts good, but sadly the whole experience was blighted by the dreadful din that kept me awake each evening. Despite being on the fourth floor the noise from the street below was unbearable and the pillows weren't even thick enough to reduce the din. Add to that a nasty crack in the sink and wifi that drops out every few minutes.

A pleasant and comfortable hotel on the edge of the city centre. Staff were friendly and the hotel had a clean, modern feel. Good sized bedroom with comfortable bed. No safe of coffee facilities in room. Good continental breakfast. Location is OK, 15 minutes fast walk from the cathedral and main station, but close to shops, restaurants and the u bahn. Hahnen gate is just around the corner.

Hotel was nice, well located in the Belgian quarter. Staff were very plesant and always willing to help in any way possible. The rooms were nice and comfortable , a bit small but still good. The shower was good and strong exactly what you ned in the morning to wake you up. Beds were comfortable and nice feather pillows. If i was going back to Cologne i would definitly use it again.

The great benefit of this hotel is its location in Cologne - close to a tram stop and U-bahn station, and great restaurants on the same street as the hotel and around the corner. The rooms could use updating and the Wifi is very slow, but the hotel was clean and well-kept.
