When Koeln / Dusseldorf are busy with Trade Fairs finding accomodation anywhere becomes a real headache. This hotel had space and was much much cheaper, at the time, than classier alternatives. I recommend this hotel to travellers on a budget but wanting still a good location + plus the usual clean rooms, showers and breakfast
The hotel is from the 80s. Rooms were dark and dingy. No temperature control in the room and it got unbearably warm in the night. The single bed was uncomfortable; pillows worse. The only saving grace was the proximity to the city centre. But there are so many better options along the way from the train station to the hotel.
I only stayed at this hotel for one night, but from what I can tell the location is good, the room is clean, they had free breakfast and the price is decent. The only thing that would have made it better would have been free wifi.

Wonderful location, easy access to the center of Cologne and river. Staff were courteous and helpful. We wanted to extend our stay but they were full so they found us a room in a sister hotel and their staff carried our very heavy assortment of bags for us. The room was a bit spartan, sort of like a college dorm room with no dresser space for unpacking bags for a 3 night stay. It was clean and the breakfast very satisfying. Heated floors were a delightful surprise.
