We stayed there in November for 5 nights and I can’t say enough how much I like this hotel. The hotel itself is very central, yet very quiet. It’s beautiful, clean and comfortable. But honestly what made the stay even more pleasant is the staff. They are so respectful, helpful, and welcoming. You can tell that they do their job with the heart, that they love what they are doing. I especially want to thank Khun Aun and Khun Dao for their excellent service. For sure this is the hotel we will recommend to friends and family going to Chiang Mai.
If I come back this would be the only hotel I would choose. The location is perfect, rooms lovely and pool great. We met other people in Chiangmai who wanted to stay here but the hotel was full... advise that you book.
The hotel has a boutique vibe to it, but it still is well managed. The breakfast is great. The hotel has a pleasant style and the location (in the center of the old city) is great for everything - quite at night, close to a lot of attractions.
Nice hotel right in the centre of Chiang Mai. Breakfast Ok with help yourself buffet of cereal, fruit, juice etc. and then you had to order your cooked breakfast from the menu. This didn't always work as often we didn't want all the items in the chosen breakfast but didn't always manage to make ourselves understood. The best part of the breakfast for me was the yoghurt and oats - excellent. The bedroom was comfortable with a large walk in shower, complementary water replenished each day and tea and coffee. Big terrace with day bed but would definitely request an upper floor room as we had a ground floor and had people walking past all the time. It has a large pool which gets very little sunlight so was quite cold at times although good for a quick dip after a day sightseeing, they also provide pool towels. Even though it’s on the main street it’s very quiet. The staff are all very friendly and helpful especially Dao on reception. Negative points – the restaurant and bar prices were very expensive and although it had a nice seating area above the street we didn’t use it because of the bar prices. Fortunately there are several cheap restaurants across the road with excellent food. There is also a reasonable priced laundry opposite and plenty of massage places nearby. The nice thing about staying in the centre of Chiang Mai is everything is in easy walking distance including several temples, shops and the old city walls. The Sunday market is set up on the streets around the hotel but it was very busy and we much preferred the Night Bazaar which is a short tuk tuk ride away outside the city walls as it was quieter, had more space to look around and plenty of stalls to choose from. It also right next to where the lady boy show is based. I would definitely recommend visiting Chiang Mai as we preferred it to Bangkok and U Chiang Mai is an ideal hotel if you want to stay somewhere central.
A wonderful, well run and friendly hotel of a very high standard. The staff never stop smiling and are always so welcoming. Very quiet, surprisingly due to it being on the main road and situated bang in the middle of the old city. Breakfast is lovely but fairly simple. Rooms are of an excellent standard. Water and fruit is free daily and one item each from the mini fridge is free too. Most rooms have a private balcony and ground floor rooms boast a small terrace. All in all a very good and worthwhile hotel to not only enjoy but to base your time at while exploring Chiang Mai.
Love the location in the old city. Small friendly hotel with swimming pool. Excellent staff and facilities. Good choice of menu for breakfast which is freshly cooked, and the rooms are of a good standard.
We has a room on the corner and with a private infinity pool it was a fantastic room and spotless.i love the fact you could order breakfast at anytime and have it brought to your room.you are within walking distance of everything. Really some nice restaurants for the evening just across from the hotel.
Great little hotel, staff always friendly. Perfect position in the old town, the Sunday walking market go straight past the front of the hotel.Breakfast outstanding. Big plus, comfortable bed and a decent shower.
This hotel does not give refunds or rebates against changing rooms to lessor grades, they are too inflexible. To slow in responding to emails about car/drivers. Double the price for hotel pick up than normal prices. Breakfast is good.
Chiang mai is a little bit our second home and this time we choose U chiang mai. Perfect location in the middle of the old city. Very convenient next to our favourite spa khunka, across the street a wine bar and many good restaurants in chiang mai. Check in very easy and also very welcoming staff. The lady gave a tour off the hotel and also in room explained everything. Everytime we past front desk always very friendly. Breakfast was good, but we are not that big eaters in the morning, but many things to choose. We had a room with acces to the mini pool, this was nice to refresh from the hot sun. Also nice to sit here and read my book in the morning. Room is big enough, but only problem is the light. Room is little bit to dark and not enough space in bathroom to put my cosmetics away. There is only 1 mirror in bathroom, so maybe it would be good to put an extra one in living with light. Also one night very noisy guests outside the corridor, so not so fun if you want to sleep. Housekeeping very good, always clean and enough refill from water, towels .... Recommend this hotel to friends but not sure yet that we are coming back because off this few issues. Overall good experience but not the wow feeling that we sometimes have in thailand.
