Stayed here in a family room for one night. The room was very clean and large with en-route bathroom, a large king size bed and bunk beds for the kids. Beautifully decorated walls and very comfortable beds. Coffee making facilities free of charge along with bottled water. Check in and check out process was very easy. One slight gripe was that they charged an extra 5.9% for paying by card, but didn't eplain that at the time. I only noticed 10 mins later in he room! A bit naughty I think. Breakfast in the cafe downstairs was substantial, tasty and quick to arrive. An enjoyable stay.
We stayed here for two nights while we got our bearings. The rooms were cute. It is right in the middle of the old city, inside the city walls. The only thing I didn't like was the noise form the night markets.
Hotel is centrally located in the old town. Many temples in walking distance, many good restaurants. Good service, clean rooms, friendly staff. I would definitely recommend the place if you want to be in the center
Excellent location, there have weekend market on street every Sunday night, just in front of hotel and along way, many people, shop, street food, etc. we were enjoy weekend market and eating. The room was average because no window and had toilet problem. Engineer don't know how to fix but staff really helpful. No parking and difficult to find parking. Bathroom was so so. The bed was ok and clean. If just one or two night stay and save budget is fine as good location in Chiangmai old town.
This was the second time we stayed at the Parasol Inn hotel. Again the staff was very pleasant. Each room has its own personal touch and theme. Your room can be rather noisy depending the location. This is the disadvantage of being located right in the old center with many temples at walking distance. The bed is comfortable but the TV did not work properly. Two times the staff checked it and tried to receive some stations but without succes. The breakfast is included but I advise anyone who does not opt for rice in the morning to have your breakfast elsewhere!! For instance, buy a cheese/ham tosti at 7/11. I chose the continental breakfast which was a disaster of the first kind: cheap white bread with only two choices to spread on it: jam or butter. The butter was spoiled probably because it wasn't stored in the fridge so if you like to get ill...... Corn flakes were included but I never eat such rubbish so I won't during my holiday. Sorry but this is the worst breakfast offer I had in any hotel in my life!! WiFi reception is good and speed is more than acceptable. If they offer a normal standard breakfast I would grand 4 points.
We started our hoilday in Bangkok and then travelled to Chiang mai. We defiantly preferred chiang mai. The atmosphere is more relaxed you arent hassled all the time and it seems more family friendly. The parasol inn was lovely. We had a family room and it was spacious and very clean. The staff are very helpful and breakfast was included and it was the best coffee we have found so far in thailand. The only downside is I particularly am a very light sleeper and where the room is located is on the stairwell and all the noises of other guests echo and I was woken up a few time by people walking up and down the stairs at night or closing doors in the early morning. Apart form that we had an excellent stay and would recommend it.
Our room was really nice and clean and comfortable. I would go back. We really enjoyed the food and the staff was really nice and helpful. Sunday night you can enjoy the street market and it's easy to walk around the Old City and explore.
We loved our stay at the Parasol Inn! Room and hotel were clean and comfortable, and located in a fantastic place in the old city that allowed us to enjoy the city on foot. All of the staff were kind and friendly, and recommended great excursions around town. A/C and amenities made for relaxing and comfortable evenings, and breakfast was a perfect way to kickstart the day. Loved being right in the middle of the Sunday market. If we are ever in Chiang Mai again, we will definitely stay here again!
My family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teens) had a very nice stay at the Parasol Inn. The room was large, with a nice sized and very comfortable king for the parents, 2 comfy twins for the teens. The room was clean with very effective air-conditioning. We were at first worried that it would not make the room sufficiently cool, but were relieved to find that it quickly did. The location was great, very close to lots of nice restaurants, massage places, beautiful Wats. We were pleasantly surprised to even find that the din of the city quieted down in the night.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is in the heard of the old city and at the exact center of the Sunday Night Market. The Parasol in at the intersection of the two intersecting streets the market is on. We were able to spend a few hours at the market and then return to the room to drop off of the stuff we bought and return to the market by stepping out the front door. There are literally vendors at the front door. This may be problem if you drove or need to take a taxi since the streets are closed when the market is open. The included breakfast was pretty good and a great way to start the day. We visited two temples next door to the Parasol. The rooms are pretty small but clean and comfortable. We were in room 309 which faces the back of the hotel. Even number rooms face the street and and have a window overlooking the street. Other reviews mentioned that these rooms have a lot street noise, especially from the motorcycles and mopeds. The odd number rooms has a small window that opens to a wall 1 foot away, so there's no view but also no noise. Room 309 has a flat screen TV and mini-fridge. The air conditioning worked well, quiet, and able to keep the room cool.
