Do not be fooled by the picture's to this hotel! I would never stay here again! Location is great but customer service is HORRIBLE! Our package included breakfast and on my day I found a live roach in my food. I pointed it out to the staff of which seemed unfazed by it. They did not remove the food that was contained. At this point I decided to have toast and the butter which was on ice and was covered in bugs as well. I pointed this out to a staff member and she said "these are not harmful bugs" fablergasted at their response I just grabed jelly to put on my crackers. When I get back to my table and cut into the jelly, a bunch of sugar ants came out of the jelly. I ended up going back up to my room to retrieve a bag of chips for breakfast. Our minbar was never restocked for 2 days In a row after we specifically asked to be. Same towels folded and put back up! I finally asked for manager to complain and she did visit us personally to our room. I spoke with her and the front desk and they did apologize and comped us on several things! They tried to correct the issue but at that point I was over it... I would NOT stay here!!!!!
Yes, as people pointed out here, the old building is a bit of a dump. Our room was in need of repair and the beds were old and unstable. The new building is nicer, but still electric sockets were broken, the aircon was very noisy and it needed some attention. Be careful in the lobby, it is mosquito city - even at 10am you can get bitten badly. Its all the plant pots that look nice but breed the critters. Its an OK hotel in a nice area, but only that.
The pictures are very misleading. From the outside the hotel looks cute and quaint, but we must have been placed in the "older" wing as our room was extremely dingy. There were footprints on the ceiling from people stomping mosquitoes, dead bloody mosquitoes on the walls and in the bathroom -- which is in need of some serious updates with the heater placed literally inside the shower with you on the wall beside the shower head. Our phone was dead and we asked them to fix it... they said they would while we were out for the day... returned to it still dead. The pool was mediocre. Holes in the lining and places that felt like there was no concrete underneath. The one nice thing was the staff seemed friendly and helpful, and the location was also good, close to markets and shops. We didn't request to switch rooms as we were only there to sleep, but for $25 CAD a night... it's exactly what you pay for. I wouldn't recommend booking at this hotel.
If you are going to book here then try and get a room in the newer wing, overlooking the pool. These rooms are more modern and better looked after. We didn't have one of these rooms. Our room was in the older wing and has mould on the showerhead and tiles, the plug sockets were loose as was much of the laminate flooring. (Management if you respond please don't just say you'll look into it-actually do something about it as many other reviews have already mentioned it) The day-to-day cleaning was done well and staff were pleasant if not entirely helpful. Location was good. Overall i believed there are better options in the same price range in Chiang Mai.
A very nice hotel with good location, friendly staff and a small but beautiful garden. About 10 mins walk from the old city wall. The bathroom might be clean but you can't tell as it is outdated and needs refurbishment. We booked two deluxe pool view rooms and they were spacious and comfortable.
I've stayed at the Eurana more than once and very much enjoyed my experiences there (see my previous review below). For some reason, I am not able to contact the hotel and hope they are not having a problem with their internet or email. I'd like to make another group booking with them directly. “perfect mid-range hotel for me and my group” Reviewed July 14, 2016 The Eurana is a really nice mid-range hotel in a cool neighborhood with breakfast buffet included, free wi-fi, air con, pool, and an open-air lobby with koi pond, computer, newspapers, etc. The staff is unfailingly friendly and helpful. After a long, hot day out, it always feels good to come "home" to this hotel. I've stayed here before and I'll stay here again. Stayed June 2016
I stayed at Eurana Hotel for 4 days..., it was so good for the price and location that I rebooked for another week. Yes this hotel is a little old, but it is well maintained, clean and the staff were all very helpful. I liked the location also..., it was close to many attractions but still fairly quiet. Also because it has a pool I thought it was very good value.
This is more of an upgraded guesthouse than a boutique hotel as advertised. It is made up of several buildings linked together probably over several years. The pool is more like a big bathtub and not all the rooms are of the same standard of cleanliness or furnishing. Their deluxe rooms are more like a standard room in a guesthouse. Overall not a very good deal for the price we paid.
I was with two other couples who stayed here for 5 days. We have been staying in 2 star hotels and have been very satisfied. My heart sank when I walked into the room. The curtains were torn and couldn't be opened, there were dead mosquitos flattened on the bathroom wall, the sheets were clean, but stained and torn and the furniture is outdated. Our safe was locked and staff could not open it, so we ha nowhere to store our valuables. This was true for one of the other couples in our group as well. Granted the Eurana is two hotels-one old (the M wing) and one new. We never saw the newer rooms, so I can't vouch for them. When Eurana remodeled, they put all the money into the lobby, which is lush and inviting (except for the mosquitos). Everything else is tired and old. The staff is friendly, but communication is difficult if you don't speak Thai. The breakfast is adequate, including pancakes and fried eggs, but it seems that the hotel caterers mainly to Chinese tourists. We used the pool, but there are not many chaise lounges and little shade. The only positive thing about Eurana was the location. It is off the street and very quiet. We could walk anywhere within the Old City and to the Saturday night market. It's close to one of the main canal streets, so taxis are easy to flag down. I would not recommend this hotel unless you're prepared for sub-par service and conditions.
I booked to stay here for four nights but the minute I checked in I wanted to leave. They gave me room 203Y.. it stunk.. the furniture was old and dirty... the bed was springy and very unappealing. Upon complaining they told me to call booking.com but I refused and told them I just wanted to pay for the night and leave. Another guest overheard and said she had the same experience with that room and upon complaining they moved her to a suite which was much better. But seriously --- why does this horrible room exist in the first place. Also -- the breakfast is lousy and the pool looks much nicer in the pictures. There are so many options in Chiang Mai... why make this yours ???
