Comfy bed. Shower was just about warm never hot. Not as friendly and welcoming as other hotels. Great location. Spacious room. Fridge and aircon were noisy, as were the slamming doors very early in the morning (we were next door to a cleaners room I think) so we were woken a few times during the night.
The people at the hotel were so lovely and helpful when we checked in late at night. The hotel is modern and well equipped. The staff was consistently pleasant and helpful. We also loved the location. It is so easy to walk to the old walled city and we loved the Sunday walking market!
This is a pleasant hotel perhaps on the large side of boutique. Decent food and staff service. Good central location on a quiet narrow alley. Front desk could be better trained to communicate with guests language, etiquette, problem solving, follow up, etc. Basic good food. Fair value for the price and we enjoyed our stay here.
Gorgeous hotel roomy near shopping and temples. Beautiful clean quiet up on 5th floor. Would totally stay here again. Near temple gate in Old City, access to great restaurants. Lovely staff. Good value and modern. Comfy bed. Great internet
We enjoyed our stay at the De Chai. The room was very big. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was large. The only complaint in the room was the water pressure want great and it didn’t get very hot. Breakfast was just okay. We didn’t try the spa. But the location is excellent. Walking distance to most parts of Chiang Mai you’re likely to visit.
Staff are friendly and wonderful. Always there to answer any questions for your needs. The hotel is in a great location only a ten minute walk to old town or a short walk to the night bazaar. If your staying any longer then two days I wouldn't recommend taking out the breakfast option. Breakfast is good with your usual hot and cold selections. There is halal meat for breakfast. Ordering cooked eggs is done through the waiter. Cappuccino is a extra 55 baht but normal coffee is part of breakfast. Plenty of small cafe's and restaurants around the area for breakfast, lunch and dinner options. We stayed in a deluxe room that was very spacious. The hot water in the shower was luck warm in fact the basin hot water is hotter. If you wake up easy with loud noises due to doors closing or kids playing this is not the hotel for you. One of the pictures is the view from our room
Fairly close to night market- about 7minute walk from hotel. Quiet location at hotel to relax. Temple on same street with massage places. Great complimentary chocolates and biscuits every day in your room. Huge room with shower and huge tub to bath baby or yourself in. Great hotel amenities. Breakfast is fair with all the basics. Excellent coffee and have real fresh orange juice daily. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Give you great tips to use a private taxi and organize your own personal tours at a quarter of the price. Free sweets all day at reception. Food at restaurant is excellent for lunch or dinner. And really cheap. Try it! Pool is not really in doors. It is just covered roof but outside and cold. Great stay at Chiang Mai!
The hotel is modern with elevator access to all floors and situated in a small winding street. It is generally calm though if you have a room facing the street then you can hear the traffic or people talking downstairs. So back rooms recommended if you care about quietness. Breakfast had a small though varied choice in terms of mix between Western and Asian. The staff was immensely helpful for booking cars or pointing out good restaurants in te surrounding area (highly recommended is Ratana’s kitchen). The location is great as it is close to Thapae gate and at the same time not too far from the river if one fancies eating there.
I chose this hotel for the colonial style. The hotel is located off the main road so that it is away from the road traffic and in a quite area. The room was beautifully set up and I received a welcome basket filled with local fruits within minutes after check-in. The staff provided a quick tour about the room, i.e. where everything was located such as bathroom, wardrobes, kitchen, etc. When I showed the room photos to my friend they were impressed and commented it is more like a honeymoon suite than a hotel room. The down bit was that the sound proofing wasn't great. Tha Pae Gate is only 5 to 10 minutes walk from the hotel. It is also close to a local but back of house kitchen and I went for dinner every single night during my stay.
I chose this hotel to be close to Tha Pae Gate (for the start of the 10km run on 24th). Extremely convenient as a few mins walk. Area is interesting with some wats within walking distance as well as all range of shops - boutique and cheaper. Located in the small streets so also possible to walk off the busy main tracks. Comfortable hotel in a convenient location if you want to be near the old city. Our deluxe room was large - especially the bathroom. Only comment I might make was that it did overlook the (small) road so sometimes there was a little engine noise from Tuk-Tuks but was not a huge problem. You may wish to enquire on location of room when booking. Thanks for a pleasant stay!
