As we live close by we checked it out today to book our arriving from overseas guests in for a week.Gates were closed no one there, not even a notice on the entrance. Nice location although the river is very low at the moment. I hope it re opens
The previous owner sold this beautiful property and then proceeded to strip everything he could get his hands on - kitchen appliances, dishes, silverware, room amenities, pool filter - and left the new owner with a mountain of problems to overcome. The new manager arrived only a few days before we did and he is ambitiously tackling this job. However, though the rooms are large and very comfortable with a separate kitchen (not stocked with anything) and a step down room for the shower and basin, the remainder of the property needed work. The pool needed to be emptied and refilled with filtered water, the restaurant was not functioning and there was no sign of a spa. The owner herself show up to fix us dinner of pad Thai and the manager drove us to the nearest 7-11to pick up drinks and snacks. This will be a wonderful refuge in the future as it is quiet on the river (I fell asleep on the veranda in a comfortable chair) and we would he no problems returning once the new construction and repair is over.
The room was very nice. But the hotel area is under construction, the new hotel manager (had arrived 2 days before us) did not know that there was bookings (our) to the hotel. The restaurant is closed, the owner came and cooked for us in the evening. There was no bar, no posibility to buy drinks either, water was available at the room. Swimming pool is dirty as the pump is broken. The swimming pool area was also under construction; the working men were building up some parts, new tiles and so on. Some of the paths on the area were also under construction. So no other quests. We had to stay one night and then we moved. But we did not get our money back for the two remaining nights!
We unfortunately had to cut our stay at this gorgeous little place from 2 nights to 1 but certainly not because we weren't happy. Quite the contrary, the location on the river is so peaceful and lovely. The rooms are very nice, well furnished and decorated and have everything you need. There are canoes and lifejackets provided for exploring the river. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and welcoming. A good breakfast provided and freshly cooked. There was no restaurant operating at night while we stayed, probably as it was low season with only a few people staying, however the lovely gentleman who seemed to be in charge organised some really good food for us to be brought in. The staff set a table for us and made it really special and enjoyable. It is a little bit tricky to find but we did manage it without too much trouble eventually and also is quite far from the main city area which we were well aware of, so if you want to spend some peaceful relaxing time out of the city, it is a really lovely place to stay. The pool area is very nice and there are lovely walks along the river through the resort. We enjoyed our stay very much and I think as long as you understand about the distance you will have a wonderful time if you just want to chill.
We had booked 5 nights at this resort through Hostelworld with the objective of having a relaxing day away from the busy city life. However, on reaching here, we were told that the reservation was not confirmed and their ownership had changed and that their marketing manager was in China. They also said they don't work with Hostelworld : I called up Hostelworld who said they had logged in the previous day and that I had a confirmed booking. Thankfully, I was able to find another place which was way better. In retrospect I am thankful : the river was dry, the resort was noisy and was a breeding ground for big mosquitoes in the evening. The staff is limited and its a pity to see one lady doing everything from cooking to cleaning to managing the reception. It's also far from any form of civilization. You need to call a cab which, if you are lucky, will take 30 mins to pick you up and will cost you 500 baht. My sincere advice : STAY AWAY
Originally we only booked this resort for 1 night (it was last minute booking) because we were driving from Bangkok to Chiang Mai and it was getting late already. After staying there for 1 night we booked it for the whole duration of our holidays! We were blowing away by the scenery, peacefulness and beauty of it! If you, like us, want to avoid noisy Chiang Mai but still be in a driving distant from all the attractions, this place is a place to stay! The room is more like ur own house. It is clean and cosy! Forest sounds all around you, fresh air, greenery and beautiful rive views! Absolutely stunning location! Resort staff is friendly, funny and very caring;) I will recommend this place to all my friends who will be travelling to Chiang Mai. Thank you for a lovely stay:)
This is a beautiful property by the river with extremely large & well appointed rooms! The view by the river offers an exceptional sunset view. The staff are extremely friendly especially the Manager Lii Lin who goes out of the way to ensure that all guests are comfortable. We only had breakfast in the resort and were treated to freshly grilled bacon and sausages at the BBQ pit, eggs and a wide array of juices etc I would recommend this place as a place to unwind & relax and let nature take over your senses!
This is my second time staying there & still enjoying the peacefulness of the resort. They have just adding more rooms with different style in each room. If you are looking for place for full relaxation, Bannamping is located slightly away from the city with the room view facing the riverside & you can see the sunset across the riverside. The breakfast is good too!
A boutique hotel with 9 rooms (adding 4 more soon) which went infinity & beyond with their service. Lynn, the owner/operator & her team provided immaculate service and helped us with all of our needs, including arranging taxi, tour, packed lunch, upgrading room and the list goes on. If you love a serene hotel, BaanNamPing should be your first choice. If you are going to Chiangmai for the nightlife, please do not choose BaanNamPing, as it is 25 minutes away from the city. If you have certain dietary needs, e.g. do not eat pork, please inform the ladies in the kitchen in advance. Unfortunately, Lynn just took over the management and she is doing her best refurbishing the hotel. At the moment, the maintenance (hot water, air con etc.) needs some work done. Hopefully that would be sorted out as soon as possible. Highly, highly recommended.
Stayed here in March. Our Room were spacious and clean. The food was some of the best we ate while in Thailand. The welcome and hospitality provided by Ann and the Baannamping Staff were incredible. The staff do an amazing job organizing drivers and tours on fairly short notice so it's not really an inconvenience. to stay outside of Chiangmai We in fact liked it to stay in Baannamping with the nice Garden and very old huge trees. We really can recommend this Place.
