The Imperial Mae Ping Hotel

Recent guest reviews

Nice on outside, very nice staff, decent pool but the rooms needed to be refurbished about a decade ago.

Little outdated in the rooms, but not bad at all. I will definately stay here again. Clean, good views, good pool, great food prices, great service. Overall great !!!

The hotel lobby, customer service, and pool were all great. The room was just alright, nothing special. The beds and pillows were hard and the internet was slow, but other than that it was to be expected for the amount we paid.

Great hotel, perfect location. Many friendly staff welcome you every time you in the lobby. Nicest building in the area

It is a decent hotel. Great location. It is not the cleanest or the most luxurious hotel, but it is a great place to stay for a few days if you want to see a good majority of Chiang Mai. Great concierge servies.

I've stayed in the Imperial Mae Ping many times over the years,it's showing it's age now but it's still a comfortable place with that good Thai ambiance & a decent breakfast/lunch buffet. It's quiet, the wifi is good & the staff is great,it's a good value for the money.

Rooms and hallways could use some updating as they are starting to look old. Staff was very helpful and attentive. Close walk to the Night Bazar, which was nice. Bar entertainment was lame as it is not a place that attracts many people, hence the lack of party atmosphere. Definitely worth the price.

This is a good hotel near the night market. The amenities are adequate but not great. For the money, it is a good buy.

The hotel is situated in the city center near outside city moat, near Le Meridian hotel. There are two swimming pools, several restaurants, a travel desk (where we bought a full day trip to Chiang Rai for 2,500 THB for two including a nice lunch), a Beer Garden with live music performance of 70's hits (Beatles etc.). Major city wats (temples) could be reached on foot. If you walk about a 100 meters to the opposit direction I.e from the city you will find a nice German restaurant.

Experience was fine. Nice hotel with pretty good breakfast buffet. Free Wi-Fi would be nice - one has to pay for this.

Forced to pay extra meals when checking in. Made reservation three weeks prior to arrival, and two days prior to arrival received email from [...]stated that a $100 USD per person charge would be added to the bill for New Years Eve Gala. No notice from hotel was given at the time booking. Spend a lot of time and money trying to call hotel from Cambodia prior to arrival. If I canceled, penalties would be applied

The hotel is well-located and since it is large, all taxi and tuk-tuk drivers know exactly where it is. However, it can be a bit noisy and when the hotel gets busy the elevator can take a couple minutes. No free wi-fi.
