The Oceanside Hotel is basic: it really just provides rooms but it does that at a good price and it does it well in terms of providing clean and modern facilities in the rooms. The (large) bed was particularly comfortable and the shower was of a very good size with ample hot water. Equally importantly it is well located about 10 minutes walk from the beach and 15-20 minutes from the seashore temple. The owner is very friendly and helpful, including in English. The 2 things it doesn't do are provide breakfast (but there are a number of friendly cafes in the street outside) and it doesn't provide WiFi in the rooms, although you can get a signal in the reception area. There aren't that many good hotels or places to stay in Mahabalipuram so the Oceanside is a good find.
Had a great one night stay here. Felt safe as a solo female traveller. Clean room and a good AC unit which kept the room cool. Hot water in the shower. Basic room, but does what it says. Really helpful friendly owner and staff. Super close to the main historic sites and the beach.
The cleanest hotelroom I ever had in India! Also a very friendly and sincere hotelmanager who helps his guests even with unusual questions , and more common ones, like taxi arrangements. The room was nicely decorated, close to the centre and close to the beach, but it was calm becuase it is a cul de sac. A lovely clean and relaxed stay.especially nice after arriving freshly in Chennai.
Tidy, Clean & well maintained hotel. Friendly & helpful staff. Walkable distance from the Shore Temple Monument and the beach. car parking space is available. Though restaurant is not available but quite a few restaurants nearby and also you can order for room delivery from the Menu cards available at the reception.
Modern, clean, confortable hotel, ideally situated, with a extraordinarily helpful and attentive manager, Yuvanesh. The best hospitality we've had in all India. Good coffee machine for cappucinos in the morning, a nice touch. Highly recommended.
In this hotel you’ll be quite comfortable. Our room and bathroom were really good. The hotel is located in the nicest part of the centre. There is wifi only in the reception area. They don’t do breakfast but there are enough restaurants nearby. We prefer wholewheat bread and for that reason we went to German Bakery or Le Yogi. We stayed one extra day and did a long walk on the beach. We went to the north and walked to a resort called Ideal. We walked coming and going three hours. The beach is nice and the sea is wild. Definitely not suitable for swimming. Most people on the beach are fully dressed here; some people are in bathingsuit.
This was a lovely, clean and bright hotel very close to the beach and all the sights of Mahabalipuram. Yuvanesh the manager was extremely helpful and made our stay really smooth and helped us arrange different trips.
I can across this place in the last week of travel. Yuvanesh the owner came across friendly and transparent while booking. This place is in the fisherman's colony but a happening place I would say. Everything was available in short distance walk. The main attractions of Mahabalipuram are within 10-15min walk. You can get to the beach from the back entrance. Definitely recommend this place. Do note currently it's only for stay. No attached restaurant s. But you have enough eateries within walking distance. They have shared parking here with other lodges and home stays. Can be challenging to find parking during long weekend's.
I was pleasantly surprised by che kindness of manager and his staff. He’s really the most polite persone I met during all my journey in India. My room was clean, big and nice, with a modern furniture,an electric kettle, coffee, milk and tè. I highly recommend it!
Was planning my vacation just a week before for Dec end and was skeptical whether I will get any available in Mahabalipuram or even if I get will I get the good one. Luckily the reviews here saved me and I called Yuvnesh (since I know his name after so many good reviews) and blocked deluxe which was not sufficient for big family but he promised he will try his best and we got one later. Pros: - Newly built property so amenities are modern and clean. - Located few blocks away from beach. - Have various restarants and eateries within 2-5 minute walk. - Got open parking lot. - Most importatntly very helpful staff. Yuvi (Yovnesh) manages the property and staff well and corteously handles all queires and helps plan your itnerary if needed. No too much of talks, short, simple and sweet. Cons: - No food service but that's not a big deal, you have many restarants around. Overall, great experience. Few of my friends were staying nearby and they though of changing their hotel after seeing this place. Anyways, other reviews speaks everything. So do check this place out.
