We stayed there for five nights from 21st -25th nov before starting a tempie tour.After checkin we made a request to change to a more classic room.Management was very helpful and responded immediately.Room was sunny, clean with all facilities.Breakfast was very good with lots of choices for both veg and non-veg.Dining can be expensive but of quality.Housekeeping regular and excellent.Staff at all levels were always willing to help --from BalaMurugan(hsekpng) to Vikram (reception) through Raman(concierge).Thank you for keeping our luggage during our temple tour.We thank Cholan Tours for booking us there. Stayed for 2 nights on business trip. The hotel is about a 45 minute drive from the airport but is in close proximity to all the business districts. The rooms are truly grand with all modern amenities. Nice city view from large windows. Buffet breakfast above average. The gym of the hotel is really fab, has 2 levels. Wifi speed is super fast. Staff is courteous. Would come back. Would recommend to families and business persons both.

We stayed there recently for 3 nights just before New Years. Good location. The chefs are so creative with the food at the Anytime dining restaurant. Beautiful dessert presentations. Loved the variety and choices of Indian, Asian, and Western cuisine. Pizza was delicious. The service staff and dining staff went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. The rooms were clean and comfortable but not very quiet. Noise, music from the Atrium could easily be heard in our rooms. Overall, a good experience!
Friendly helpful staff Good breakfast . Excellent indian food available. European food is questionable . Good gym and swimming pool . Comfortable temp to swim. As per normal standards : it is a trend to ask various staff before actually getting the right response . It is exhausting as guests sometimes don’t have the time to waste when they have time schedules to keep . Bath towels in rooms etc are not regularly stocked after each cleaning . It has become a practice in most hotels to call for staff to replenish items. Tipping is a regular protocol here in India . Hotel staff from checking desk to getting into taxi are abundant. ALL look and wait and expect tips all along Regardless of the fact they haven’t done anything deserving a tip. It’s quite embarrassing for a paying guest on a long holiday trying to keep a holiday budget and tipping endlessly . New Year’s Eve party admirably orchestrated BUT sound decibels was unnecessarily high breaking health and safety and sleep for those trying to sleep in the rooms . Noise is a must It seems . Extremely raucous DJ shouting almost 4 hours into a highly amplified microphone so loud that it gave headaches . The management clearly expects the atrium to be be filled with deafening music almost impossible to even have a conversation . Rooms all face Atrium hence no chance of peace - seriously is this a 5 star hotel ? Also tables were seen unoccupied but staff told us none available ?
Service: The service I received was exceptional, prompt efficient courteous and warm. I did have a few problems but all were taken care of very promptly and would give them 5 stars for service alone. Room: I had a room on the 7th floor and asked for this thinking the traffic noise would bothersome but unfortunately it was the noise from the restaurant and the new year party that was ridiculously bothersome. I could not sleep on new years eve. After the party they made noise dismantling the equipment. Really wish management would take noise factor seriously. I have to wake up early for an appointment and could not sleep and hence sat up writing this review! The rest of the ‘room’ factors were excellent. I like the electronic request for laundry, room make up, etc. Facilities: The gym was modern and well equipped. The spa and pool were excellent both with services, professionalism and ambience. Wifi was excellent and was able to make video calls without bandwidth problems during my stay. Breakfast: Review is just for vegetarian food, both western and Indian. The variety is mind boggling but unfortunately, there was no oomph factor for any of the dishes and I tasted pretty much everything hoping to get lucky! I would not give more than 3 stars for food as I prefer quality over variety. Perhaps the blandness factor with Indian food was to cater for the tastes of westerners. The western food was nothing special either. The doughnuts were not light and soft, the bread was like supermarket bread and not freshly baked and the cheese was dry and boring. Overall, food was not bad, just nothing special. Summary: I still feel that my experience was pleasant enough to give 5 stars and I would return if noise is not a daily experience for the rest of my stay (one more week to go!). I’m prepared to forgive them for the new years eve party.
Average stay for a 4 star hotel category. Pricey for the service and facilities on offer. In room dining options are limited. Pros - Courteous Staff, good breakfast spread, location. Faced issues with housekeeping though it was addressed promptly.
J Hind specialty restaurant, lovely experience. Superb ambience with smiling and knowledgeable staff and awesome food.. I fall short of words to describe my experience here. A must try place when in Chennai..
Airport pick up was prompt. Check in counters should be at a better place. Was not impressed. However, travel desk staff were very good. I had a room on the 7th floor but the music from the restaurant in GF was disturbing late in to the night. Room service was messy and delayed. Staff do not seem to understand our requests. Restaurant was crowded. Visited the bar one evening. Sat for 5 minutes, none of the staff bothered to service me even though the place had only one other customer! So walked away. Over all not satisfied with my stay.
We booked through travel website and I was little skeptical about the hotel. When we reached Chennai around 12 Noon and at the first look hotel looked awesome. Checkin process was seamless and we got the rooms as we booked. Nice lounge to have a drink in the afternoon and evening. Room service was good with prompt service. Another pleasant surprise in the morning was sumptuous breakfast waiting for us in 24Hr dining. Excellent spread for vegetarians and awesome filter coffee. Chennai was very welcoming and Grand GRT proved to be a good pod.
