Attractions

Clermont Street, also known as Capricorn Highway, and the Emerald Railway Station are both sites that are important tourist destinations and are recognized by the National Trust. Capricorn Highway is 352 miles long and is known for its scenic views and dramatic vistas. The Emerald Railway Station features a wonderful facade built in 1900. It's the most photographed location in Emerald, and visitors marvel over its wrought-iron fences and pillared porches.

When you fly to Emerald Airport (EMD), you can expect temperatures in the city to average in the mid-40s in July and the mid-90s in December. The best way to get around the city is with a rental car. However, there are also taxis available to take you to the town center. The Central Highland Multicultural Festival is an opportunity for residents and visitors to explore local culture and typically occurs at the end of August. There is also the monthly Emerald Lions Flea Market on the first Sunday of every month.
