The historic vibe of this hotel is very cool and the moody decor is inviting and interesting. The staff was excellent. They were friendly, helpful and accommodating. Despite these positives, there were many signs of uncleanliness in lobby, on lobby furniture and inside our hotel room. We found 2 cockroaches about 4" long in our room. Biggest I have ever seen in my life. The room we were in was extremely noisy, huge drafts from the old windows that made the street noise so loud it was hard to sleep. We also had 2 different rooms next to us playing loud music late j to the night. I should have asked to have the music turned off, but I was too tired to get out of bed to deal with it. This hotel has a lot of potential, again, the atmosphere is inviting, but it just needs some TLC and maybe a notice given to guests regarding hotel etiquette on respecting quests in neighboring rooms.

Valet was rude and “park view” room looks at the highway. Our room 406 had a giant palm tree in front of the window so there was no view other than the highway. Central location was good and room was clean and nice.
