Athena Inn

Worst hotel visit EVER. We were passing through so we used the Athena Inn as a "rest stop". Unbeknownst to us there is a nightclub, Suite 101, right next door. Many patrons of the club wear pants on the ground and have invested in incredible bass systems for their car stereos, wall rattling really. And apparently the parking spillover from the club Is the Athena Inn's parking lot so the sound of chirping car alarms and brief horns honks went late into the night. I'm guessing there's no security patrolling outside so the level of comfort was low. All of this and having an octopus acrobat child in bed with us made for the worst night of sleep in my 56 year history. And I've slept in a lean-to made out of a poncho in the pouring rain, my now Second worst night of sleep ever. Spend a little more, go further down the road, and stay at a name you recognize.

While traveling to Florida from Wisconsin, we needed to stop to sleep so found a great discount for a Sunday night stay. I booked and we arrived around midnight to find someone actually sitting at the desk. When he looked us up, he found I'd accidentally booked for the next night, but had me cancel my booking and he gave us our fantastic deal for a Sunday night booking. The room was better than we could have expected. They even offer the USB ports in the outlets (like we have added to our home so we can use ports but still keep the power cord outlets free). The shower was awesome. My husband loved the newer style shower head. We will definitely keep this Inn in mind for our return trip or any future trips! Great customer service and very clean rooms. We slept the rest of our night without waking up, we were that comfortable! It states free breakfast, but I never saw an area for this so to my knowledge there wasn't a breakfast. Our room did not have a smell of smoke, but I am not sure if it is listed as having Smoke Free rooms.

I got to the hotel, checked in, went to a wedding, and when I came back that night around 10:00, there was a lot of activity outside my room and around the hotel. There were tons of people just hanging out, partying, and being loud. I also thought the room was not cleaned properly . I felt so unsafe and uncomfortable that I did NOT stay that night! I immediately checked out! The front desk worker was so kind and said that I can get a refund for the room if I call tomorrow and ask to speak to the manager! So I did. The manager said I can't get a refund. I kindly explained to him what happened "I checked out because I felt uncomfortable, unsafe, and was assured a refund?" He then began to raise his voice at me and continuously told me that this wasn't his fault and it was MINE....wait what? I told him how I don't understand how it is my, a paying customer's "fault"-- I explained to him that it is never a customers fault if they feel unsafe/uncomfortable, but it is a management problem that could be solved with cameras, more rules, security, and regulations? Long story short.... I never got a refund that I was assured, and the manager yelled and argued with me over the phone? Which was so unprofessional. I even told him to "Please stop arguing with me. If you can't give me a refund that is PERFECTLY FINE, but I am not going to stay on the phone an argue about it"-- HE THEN CONTINUED TO ARGUE WITH ME! The phone call lasted a good 5 minutes of complete disrespect as a paying customer. My suggestion is to just simply double think about staying at this place. It is a great place with a great price, but there are better options. Even paying an extra $30 for a better place would be worth it! The pictures are nothing with what it really looks like! Very disappointing!

I selected this hotel because I was on a road trip and found a good coupon at a rest area. I read reviews, I investigated and final decided it would be fine. The first night was - think I was tired so didn't pay attention. Room was comfortable, shower is GREAT, Staff was very friendly and kind. Hotel appears pretty new. The second day I encountered two rather large bugs and noticed that the floor felt funny - my feet were black. It's not carpet - rather fake hardwood - which looks very nice - but that shouldn't keep from being cleaned. At this point it needs a good steam mopping. The walls are paper thin and had a lot of traffic noise from the street and my second night the neighbor I had next door was VERY loud with phone calls and left the tv blaring all night - this of course is not the fault of the hotel. Overall not a terrible stay.

I booked this room on hotels.com. The reviews were good, so I trusted that it would be decent at least. I was dubious because I was headed to unfamiliar territory but hopeful. Once I arrived, I was not disappointed. The staff is friendly, it's a small hotel with a very contemporary feel in the rooms. I love the fact that the rooms have hard wood flooring instead of carpet. The King size bed was so roomy and comfortable, the shower head was amazing. I wish it applied more pressure but overall it felt good. I will stay here again. It's only 20 minutes away from downtown Chattanooga and a few minutes from the hwy 75.

There is a urban club next door, so weekends could have issues with many people parked on road by hotel. The walls are thin. The couple managers are friendly, The coffee machine was perfect the first night, but a bit off on the frappes the second.basic granola, cereal, yogurt and fruit breakfast. The showers and beds are fantastic. and I like parking right outside the door of the room. This hotel was built October 2016, so everything was new. We want to give it 3 1/2 stars because of value/location.

This place smells like poop! The room was supposed to be non-smoking. the toilet seat has a mark from cigarette butts, worst of all the bed sheets were not changed! The door had a crack so smoke from people going by outside the doors are going in the room. I did not stay for the night, they said the charges did not go through, however it is showing in my account. I tried calling the # listed above is a non-working number so you cannot get a hold of anyone.

So I'm traveling for work. I need a cheap place. Had stopped in Cleveland Tennessee at some of the cheaper places they were horrible. So I came down to Chattanooga. And stopped in here. There are no cars parked outside or on the side I thought they had closed or out of business, but the doors were open so I walked in and some of them walked up to the front desk you and check me in. It's a small motel with an amazingly small parking lot. I managed to find my room and walked in. I was surprised it was nowhere near as bad as I expected. The room scene pretty clean furniture was dated, one light didn't work the desk is in front of the AC unit, and a chair is messed up. But had way worse.

Omg ! My husband and I stopped there on our way to Florida. We were coming from Montreal. Staff is friendly, can't deny that. But on our way to our room my husband and I got stung multiple times by hornets!! There was a nest of them in each corners and I am allergic so I spend the next two hours in bed having bad reactions. My husband threaten them that we would leave if they didn't take care of the nest. Which they did. It was really nice of them. Then around 11.30 pm, I woke up because I felt something crawling on me... And I had huges bites on me. I woke my husband and he looked and he found out that my bed was infested with bedbugs !!! We packed up everything and asked our money back ! My husband had even a video to prove the existence of the bugs !!! They had to refund us. So I better not have any reply from a manager saying there was no proof to be fund on them because we have photos and a video !!! Do NOT stay there. The staff is friendly yes but now we have to clean all of our stuff and make sure that we didn't bring any bedbugs with us !!! Should I even mention that our vacation is ruined thanks to that hotel ?? My body and my face are full of bedbugs and I have to apply benadryl to calm the itching. Avoid the trouble and go stay somewhere else !

My children and I checked in and got to our room it was a complete disaster! There was a hole in rhe wall. My son wanted to take a bath. The tub was dirty and missing the stopper. I found blood on a box spring, went to get another room and got the same results. Then my son found a bed bug. We pulled sheets and found tremendous amounts of blood on a mattress. It looked as if someone bled out on it! DO NOT STAY HERE!
