Upon arriving I ask to see my room before I checked in and paid.I was directed to a corner room next to the office. It appeared to clean and I paid to check in. From there I was directed to an entirely different room on the upper level on the opposite end.The idea was to see the room that I would actually be staying in "first" before checking in! The room appeared clean but when entering the bathroom had a very bad smell like a dog had been locked in there and did his nasty deeds in the shower. There were brown stains all over the floor. Then upon leaving the room I noticed that the peep hole had been punched out and there was toilet paper stuffed into the hole to fill it. The safety chain to secure the door was also missing! Well, that was enough for me, so I went back to the office and explained the situation to the girl at the desk and ask for another room. She looked at me like I had a horn growing out of my forehead.....and said she didn't understand, so I explained it all over again but slower. She still gave me that same blank stare and argued with me. Finally she reluctantly offered the first room I looked at. I ask about checking out. I told the girl at the desk that I would be leaving early. She ask when. I said, possibly around 7am. She repeated it and I said, around that time. She ask again and again, what time I would be out, harassing me to no end! She had told me earlier that she likes to take her showers at the motel because they were so nice.....I'm guessing she was wanting my room! Upon checking into the room I noticed the bar across the fence. Great! Now I had to deal with that noise all night. The clanking and rattles in the AC did a fair job of trying to block that all out! But that wasn't all! After being in the room for a while, this room also had a doggie odor to it. I had to go buy some air freshener to try and mask it! From there I went to wash my hands and the faucet nearly came off in my hands. I had purchased some things to place in the fridge, only to find that it didn't work and had at least 3 inches of ice build up across the entire back of it inside. So now I had no way to keep these things cold. There was also no extra toilet paper to be found in this room. I went to get ice and the machine was broken. I was so tired I just wanted to sleep and I actually ended up sleeping in my clothes after finding hair in the beds. The office was closed immediately after I checked in and I had no way of asking for clean sheets or another room. I sent 2 emails to the owner asking for a refund, sent the same to the BBB and Magnuson Hotels and have had not reply from the owner at all. What a dump! Later I realized that this is one of hundreds of hotels across the country owned by the Patel family. All seem to have the same reputation. I guess they think we are use to sleeping in these disgusting conditions! What an insult! I still want my money refunded and those16 hours of my life back!!!!!!
During hurricane Irma evacuations, we ended all the way up in Tennessee to find hotel rooms. Our first hotel was terrible. So we got on our phones to find a better place. We found this place on the internet, called them at 2am and booked. They answered the phone at 2am! very impressive. Great friendly service at the front desk. They gave us free water bottles. The room was very clean and well decorated. The shower was amazing. Our room had a microwave and mini fridge. Free breakfast (standard free hotel fare) The supporting staff was friendly and helpful. We had cats with us and with a small fee they take pets.
Stopped here for the night. The shower is AMAZING!! Never ran out of hot water!! Room is clean and well decorated. Microwave and a Fridge that worked very well. Air conditioner worked well. Overall very good stay would stay here again Very economical!!
The pictures look nice and the bedding was new and clean, but we had a cockroach on the pillow, the bed mattress slid around and squeaked. Too much lipstick on a pig. The TV sound didn't work. They need to upgrade just a little more to make this pleasant. Would NOT go back.
Staff was friendly. The hotel is clean, nice. We extend a couple days because Irma, and we found rooms here. The shower it is amazing. Breakfast it is really poor but the rest is perfect. You are close to the mall and restaurants.
We got a last minute room here when hurricane Irma forced us out of our home and our original place we evacuated. They where very helpful. It helped that they where pet friendly. The rooms are lovely also.
I needed a one-night stay near the path of Totality during the Great American Eclipse of 2017. Reserved the room through the hotel chain. Room was nice. People were nice. Breakfast offering is Spartan and spare, but that is not unreasonable for the an extremely affordable place to stay for just a night or two. Nothing wrong with the area, the Motel is in.
I am not sure why there are any negative reviews on this hotel. My boyfriend and I booked a room here during our trip to Chattanooga to go to Rock City, Ruby Falls, and the Incline Railway. The room was $62 tax included for a room with a king bed. We checked in around 11:30 pm with no problems. Our room was very clean and very modten! The room had a flat screen tv, microwave, and mini fridge. The bed was pretty comfy! Our room was located on the second story. We did not hear any noise throughout the night and felt very safe. The next morning we got up for breakfast before we left in which they had milk, apples, Frosted Flakes, fruit loops, granola bars, and yogurt as well as a neat coffee maker. Not a bad breakfast, could've had more options. Overall a good day and would recommend to anyone visiting Chattanooga. It's definitely worth driving a little further but paying the same price for the hotels near all of the attractions downtown because it was a clean hotel!
Arrive really late and left really early for a flight! The staff was very nice and helpful. The staff gave me an early wake up call which was 3 hours later. The room very clean, comfortable Bed and relaxing updated shower. Very close to the Airport! Hotel renovations is outstanding! Most definitely will stay there again!!!
Worst hotel visit EVER. We were passing through so we used the Athena Inn as a "rest stop". Unbeknownst to us there is a nightclub, Suite 101, right next door. Many patrons of the club wear pants on the ground and have invested in incredible bass systems for their car stereos, wall rattling really. And apparently the parking spillover from the club Is the Athena Inn's parking lot so the sound of chirping car alarms and brief horns honks went late into the night. I'm guessing there's no security patrolling outside so the level of comfort was low. All of this and having an octopus acrobat child in bed with us made for the worst night of sleep in my 56 year history. And I've slept in a lean-to made out of a poncho in the pouring rain, my now Second worst night of sleep ever. Spend a little more, go further down the road, and stay at a name you recognize.
