We don’t typically leave reviews, but since we rely on them when booking, we wanted to share a few observations to help future guests know what to expect.The poolhouse is modern, stylish, and thoughtfully decorated. There are a few practical details worth noting. Both the upstairs loft bedroom and downstairs have many windows with light-filtering shades. While beautiful during the day, the primary bedroom stays quite bright at night due to exterior patio lighting from the main house and nearby streetlights. If you’re sensitive to light while sleeping, this may be something to consider as it was an issue for both my husband I myself. The primary bathroom lighting is very dim, particularly in the late afternoon and evening, which made getting ready challenging. In addition, the separate toilet room door would not stay closed, which limited privacy. The bathrobes were a thoughtful addition; however, one of ours had visible stains that appeared to be blood. In a property positioned at this price point, that was concerning and not acceptable from a cleanliness standpoint. Lastly, there were several reminders and posted notes encouraging guests to tip the cleaning staff. We absolutely value the work that goes into preparing a property, though given that a cleaning fee is already included in the booking, the repeated requests felt unexpected. Guests may simply want to be aware of that. With a few small practical adjustments — it could be an even more comfortable stay.
