Kriti is modern, clean hotel near Venetian harbour.Staff is very polite and helpfull. Breakfast is great and can be enjoyed at the pool. Bottle of raki was always waiting for us in the room. Bar in lobby is open whole day.
With my hand on my heart, this is a truly a great place to stay if visiting Chania. The location is perfect. It's literally just 5 minutes from the markets, harbour, restaurants and the enchanting old town. Our room had a balcony ( complimentary Raki in our room)was spacious. There is a pillow menu (never seen one of these before). The mini fridge contents were reasonably priced. The shower/WC room was nice ( complimentary shower gel, shampoo were top notch) It's rare but breakfast started at 07.00 up to 12.00 noon. Great choice (my wife loved the fresh orange juice machine, feed in fresh oranges and hey presto!) Everthing fresh. There is a shallow pool that was nice to sit around and have the occasional dip. There is an Internet room( hotel wifi was great anywhere in the hotel, even around the pool) and a gym. Finally all staff were very friendly and helpful. As a low budget hotel this offers so much more. You can't go wrong
Great location - quiet yet easy walk to main town area and old port. We had caught the public bus from Heraklion to Chania so walked to the hotel from main bus station - dragging bags and having to stop at lights, it probably took us 15 minutes and this included stopping a couple of times to ask for directions- this wasn't a problem - we asked in shops and they all knew the hotel. Once you start walking from the hotel to go into the main shopping area, there are so many short cuts - you can't seem to go wrong whichever street you decide to turn down - one leads into another, no matter how narrow. Or just follow the waterfront round from the hotel (you can see the water from the front of the hotel). We couldn't complain about the service, the friendliness of the staff or the cleanliness of the hotel. Initially I thought the hotel had a sterile feel to it inside but I think it's because the corridors to the rooms don't have the warmth of pictures and the rooms have vinyl floor covering - very sensible but just adds to the "stark" feel perhaps in comparison to other hotels we have stayed in. The pool area is very nice and there was a good buffet Breakfast each morning so, all in all, a very pleasant stay. We were also upgraded at no extra cost to a junior suite which gave us a separate lounge area ((the room overlooking the pool) and having this extra space (we stayed for 4 nights) was very much appreciated.
We were pleasantly surprised with the Kriti Hotel. The rooms are very clean, lovely toiletries provided, staff friendly and polite and location great. It was our first visit to Crete and the hotel was recommended to us. We booked a larger room as we were staying for 10 days. We thought the hotel provided great value for money.
We stayed for a week at this hotel. I found the location to be very convenient. It's only 5 minutes walk from the indoor market and old town and 10 minutes from the bus station where there are buses to all the Chania area and beyond. The beautiful harbour was just a couple of minutes away. Many coach trips offer a pick- up from here too. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were very friendly. The pool is lovely too! I would highly recommend this hotel - we had a wonderful stay.
I met up with friends in Chania and this hotel was perfect , its very close to the old harbour and venetian port so restaurants and scenery the municipial market is very close too . The hotel staff are professional and friendly , rooms are quiet , theres a market nearby on saturday but you only hear it if you open the window. At breakfast there is a very wide choice , greek yoghurt and cretan raisins is the best combination ever. We rented a car and it was easy getting out of the city from here and there was always parking near the hotel. Room was spotless and the bath products they offer are of a very good quality.
We spent one night in this excellent new modern hotel in June 2016. It is located in a quiet area but very near to the centre . Upon arrival, the helpful friendly reception team upgraded us to a deluxe room .The room which had a large king sized bed and bathroom with good toiletries were both a good size and spotlessly clean. There was a free car park in the grounds of the amphitheatre opposite the hotel. We parked for free in the street along side the hotel but be careful, because it is not clear from the position of the street signage which places are free or which are subject to a fine. The only small negative point was that the although the breakfast was good there was no prepared fresh fruit salad available. However whole pieces of fruit was on offer. This professionally run hotel comes highly recommended.
I am in general big fan of Greece, but Xenia is untouched pearl that stayed remote and quiet after tourist attack on for exp. Mykonos or Santorini. All People in Hotel Kriti are nice, friendly and helpful, they really make you feel at home. I Happened to stay alone in Hotel after my husband had to leave for work and I didn't regret a second although I have been thinking to cancel the travel. I had a sea side room and it gives you nice shade as well as look over old Town! Breakfast is delicious, they even had very tasty gluten free bread. It is a enough choice and you can come back as many time you want till 12h! They have great orange juice machine where you make your juice fresh. And oranges in Greece are so tasty!! Pool is modern, decent size, clean, I spent every morning there before taking off to see other places. I give 4 points here only because rooms and Balkons are a bit small what would be a problem if I would not be alone. There is a gym too but it is also Very small. Room are modern and cleaning works perfect, they change towels and beds every day! For 3 stars Hotel this is amazing place and I am coming back as soon as possible.
My wife and I visited the city of Chania last November and we stayed for a weekend. The hotel is cited in the center of the town in a walking distance from the Market and the Old Port. When we arrived, due to availability, they upgraded our room. The view was magnificent and the bed was excellent. The breakfast was really good and the staff very polite and willing to help us. There were too many available parking seats around the hotel. A really exceptional choice in the city!
We stayed in the Kriti hotel for a week and rate it as a quality hotel with friendly service. I use a wheelchair and found the hotel reasonably accessible. There are steps up to the front door, but there is a small ramp to a side door that is generally locked, but you press a buzzer and reception unlocks the door remotely. This is not the ideal, but is quite manageable. Once inside the hotel, there is a moderately steep but short rampfrom the lobby area to the ground floor where the 4 accessible rooms are. The accessible rooms themselves are very well kitted out. I didn't need them to raise the bed by approximately 10 cm which are very pleasant maintenance man organised promptly. Apart from access, the hotel breakfast is quite good for a 3 star hotel, but nothing exceptional. The pool is adequate size, not particularly accessible for wheelchair users in terms of a poolside hoist, but that is generally the case in the majority of hotels. The hotel location is very good, being quite close to the beach and old port area. Unfortunately the wheelchair accessible rooms don't have a great view compared to the upper floors.
