Was a unique experience being in an antique hotel but need to replace the tub drain and replace yellowed tiles around the toilet.

Very old school still using keys on door locks and chains instead of deadbolts and more modern devices. Quirky charm as my room had 3 sections: bedroom on one side, bathroom in middle, and living room with sofa and desk on other side. Both living room and bedroom have key access from hallway. Stayed just one night as part of 2 week vacation. Quirkiness makes this place memorable in our modern world.

This was our first visit to Vermont and we were thrilled not only to find a hotel with 4 queen beds for our large family, but a historic hotel as well! Such a beautiful building with character! We loved the "slow and quiet" elevator, the beautiful staircases, and kind staff.

We arrived early for a our room as we had to return the rental car by 1:00, but were let known under no uncertain terms would we get into our room before check in time at 4:00. We wandered the town and when we can into rest for a second I wanted to check to see if any possible room would be ready...figured worth a try. I said hello to the desk reception and the woman walked away as if I did not exist! Lucky down the street was a nice restaurant with a place to sit and have a drink. Put a bad taste in my mouth. Luckily when we returned, sour person was gone and we were greeted by a very pleasant woman (she ran the morning coffee place). The receptionist in the morning (a gentleman) was pleasant as well.

Old fashion hotel, parking was the only issue. The staff always be nice

If you are looking for luxury or you want to stay in a hotel like every other hotel in the US, this place is not for you. But if you want to travel back to the first half of the 20th century and add an historical experience to your trip, I recommend the Coolidge. Everything is clean, the beds are comfortable, the bathroom works. But everything is old, there is a sink in the room like there used to be in all hotel rooms. My 17 year old daughter loved it because it had personality and historical interest. Also, the arrangement of two bedrooms connected by the bathroom was perfect for us. Essentially you get a suite for the price of a room. And each guest gets a $5 voucher for breakfast at the Tuckerbox Cafe down the block and the breakfast was delicious!

It was a nostalgic place which had that charm of an older more simple time. Very comfortable and had its own kind of charm. The staff was friendly and helpful. Many things to do in close proximity to the hotel

This hotel has lots of character, it is old, but clean and interesting.

Nice old hotel. Has character. Pleasant staff. Would stay again

Crazy old place with nooks, crannies, twists and turns. The staff was lack luster but this place has tons of character... Also , not much happening for perks or "downtown.". Breakfast was next door at a discount and worthless if you have to head out before most warm bodies. Pretty free reign of the hotel and adjacent buildings which included the hotel, old opera house and some very lucky office renters--as seen by the kitschy and a bit "The Shining-esque" corridors. A few times I thought "OK. This is how I die... Horror movie style. Not a bad way to go... And there are worse places to haunt for eternity, I'm sure." Cool stay.

Shower did not work. When I called the desk I was asked if I turned the faucet on. A member of the staff came up and could not get it to work either and told me I would have to wait until the handy man came in. Unfortunately I had to work and could not wait. I will never stay there again. Parking was a non existent. I asked for a call from the inn keeper to get a refund on my room and was never contacted.

Stayed overnight. Nice old wooden hotel, well worn stairs. Staff friendly, but not outgoing. Rooms were clean, old, plenty of soap and towels. Limited Cable TV. Nothing special in terms of amenities. No breakfast (attached cafe opens at 9AM), but bagel place a few doors down was good. Loud stereo at 4AM that Mgmt did not address. Overpriced for value offered.

Yes, the hotel had charm and personality from the long ago train era but it needed to be updated. I found no coffee pots in the room or complimentary coffee in the lobby disappointing. Dining in the area was minimal. The countryside was beautiful!

It felt like being in 1925. No a/c. Reception person friendly. He tried but didn't know facts. How many rooms? History? Room fairly clean but really OLD. We had a "suite". Bed and sitting room separated by bathroom. Extra sink in sitting room with rust in sink. It was probably a neat spot in 1926. Cal would have loved it.

The Hotel Coolidge was interesting because of its history, but I wish more money had gone toward remodeling and upkeep. The hotel was clean but somewhat shabby. I liked the fact that there was a sitting room and two sinks, but the shower had very little water pressure and inconsistent water temperature. The cable/satellite TV signal was poor. Several channels did not come in clearly at all. For the price, I would have expected more amenities such as a fitness center or even a complimentary breakfast bar. I would recommend the hotel for a short stay, but I would hesitate to return. I could probably find better accomodations for the price.

White River Junction (and the Hotel Coolidge) seem lost in time--a town with few amenities within the confines of the town itself and few patrons.

Thanks for the review--Yes, parking can sometimes be an issue--the downtown is a bustling place with lots of great shops and stores, restaurants and live theater, so parking can be at a premium. Luckily we have on-site parking, free local bus service, and Amtrak is right across the street--so you can take the train here and leave the car at home!
