The room was dirty. Coffee filter not cleaned out when I arrived. Electrical socket broken. Had to replace 6 room keys because they didn't work. The room stunk. The view outside of my window was a trailer park. The free breakfast was a joke. The foreign farmed out call center of Orbitz told me it was highly rated and close to the airport. Wrong. I should have been leery when they couldn't even pronounce the city.
The title says it all: No Frills - Great Staff - Cheap rates.
They were very accommodating. I had to check in early and they got my room ready for me. thanks
Clean, quiet, and priced right fo someone just needing a place to rest.
THE DOOR TO THE ROOM WAS OPEN WHEN WE ARRIVED. THE SCREEN TO THE WINDOW WAS TORN. I CHECKED THE BEDDING, IT APPEARED TO BE CLEAN. THERE WAS ONLY A 1/2 ROLL OF TOLIET PAPER IN THE BATHROOM, ONE TOWEL AND NO WASHCLOTHS! ONE TOWEL FOR TWO ADULTS! THE FRIG DOOR WOULDN'T OPEN ALL THE WAY, IT WAS STUCK ON THE CARPET. THE SUGAR PACKETS IN THE BASKET WERE EMPTY. THEN WE WENT TO THE POOL, WHICH NEEDED SOME SERIOUS CLORINE!!! IT WAS SCUMY AROUND THE EDGES AND I SPILLED OFF THE STEP GETTING IN. THE HALLWAYS WERE DIRTY AND NOT CHECKED OVERNIGHT. OVERALL, IT WAS DEFINITY NOT A PLACE I WANT TO STAY AGAIN. AND ONE MORE THING, WHEN I WENT TO CHECK OUT I ASKED THE DESK CLERK FOR A RECEIPT, HE SAID YOU GOT ONE WHEN YOU BOOKED THE ROOM!
The hotel was inexpensive and the room was clean. There was a pool, but i checked in kind of late so i never saw it. Ended up leaving because i couldnt sleep. Too quiet, no clock.. or clock radio that seem to be standard issue. so no noise or any way to mark the time. Gave it up around 3am and checked out. Very hot water in the shower and fridge in the room were good though.
I was in town for Parent's weekend at U of I-- and (as usual) did not reserve enough ahead of time to have a wide choice. It was further away than I would have liked-- but that's my own fault. The price was very reasonable-- and the motel was quiet. The people running the hotel were friendly and quick to help us with any questions we had. The rooms are not fancy and some of the furniture and fixtures do show age and wear-- but it was clean and quiet. They did not even blink when we checked in 2 hours earlier than check in time-- and if they had not been busy over the weekend would have allowed a late checkout. It is a good place to stay when all you really need is a place to sleep. If the motel is part of the vacation-- pool for kids, etc-- you might want to look a bit further. The motel does have a pool-- but it's fairly small. I do prefer motels with interior room doors-- and this motel has that. Overall, it's not fancy-- but for the price-- it's a good choice. Especially if you have a college student with a long shopping list of things Dad needs to buy for him while in town and want to save as much as you can on accommodations!
