This hotel was wonderful! The pool was clean and well cared for, the hot tub was not open and looked like it needed care but who wants a hot tub in July? There was a shady area to sit by the pool. There is a farmers market in the parking lot Saturdays, walking distance to anything one could want including local coffee. Our room was spotless and the beds and pillows so comfortable! The air conditioning worked great. The breakfast was delicious with the regular but also yogurt, eggs and fruit. We used the breakfast room for dinner one night too. I can not say enough great things about the staff, every staff member we encountered was overly nice and helpful. My only complaints would be that there is not an elevator and the stair wells feel like emergency fire escapes and there needs to be more pool chairs.

Great motel, clean and comfortable. Very nice in all respects

We reserved over the Internet and told a room with queen and slider opening onto pool. We were put in a basement with no slider and very dark. We were charged the same rate... Our room kept had to be reprogrammed every day to the point of being given 4 keys at a time... Renovation going on made for dirty and unkempt stairwell...but was not explained verbally or by sign until the day we were leaving.....has been a pleasant place in the past and hopefully will be again in the future

The price and location of this hotel is excellent for anyone attending the Shakespeare Festival, as it is within a short walking distance (about 2-2 1/2 blocks). The free continental breakfast was what is usually expected for such things. The hotel offered free s'mores in the parking lot one day which was a nice touch.

Good hotel- good room- great price for the value-saw this hotel on Hotel impossible- stayed here a few times since- they continue to make great improvements- glad to support them

Good breakfast, close to campus, room had everything wet needed for a 1 night stay. Decent place to stay for on campus events.

Convenient but old and nothing special. The staff was nice but often nobody was at the desk which was inconvenient. There is no elevator, only stairs, too the 3rd floor. The WiFi didn't work the duration of our stay.

We have stayed here many times over the years, attending the Shakespeare Festival. This used to be an OK middle-of-the-road place, nothing too luxurious, but clean, etc. and certainly inexpensive. It is no longer worth saving a few dollars. The refrigerator didn't work, our food stayed WARM, so we had to put a half gallon of milk in the tiny freezer so it didn't spoil, and it froze. We couldn't get an extra pillow, I had to go to Walmart and BUY an extra pillow! There are no bedspreads on the beds, just OLD blankets and sheets. There's this really bad shampoo in weird dispensers in the shower. We accidentally spilled on our blanket and I called to get another, the front desk attendant had no idea how to get another blanket, and there was no housekeeping staff there to get us one.....we had to sleep there with no blanket at all on the bed, she never "found" one. The next day, our old, soiled blanket was STILL up front, in the lobby, behind the front desk. Weird! The bottom line is that we felt that because of them needing to cut costs, this hotel is no longer comfortable enough for us to stay during our yearly Cedar City visit.

The room was neat and clean. The beds were comfortable.

Its a motel 1.5 star. Not hotel !!!! Housekeeping terrible.

Great place to stay.Unexpectedly comfortable. Nice and relaxing.

My friends and I stayed at Stratford while hiking Zion. The town Stratford is located in is cute (and Shakespeare themed!) and the hotel was very clean and comfortable. The stay was a great value, especially when you consider that we booked just hours before we needed a reservation.

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff. Pool in a sunny area and felt great after a hot drive. Internet in room was iffy, worked just fine in breakfast room. Would stay again!

A real find! Clean and comfortable. Center of town so close to everything.

We were greeted by a very nice staff member. They were courteous and generous with their attention. very polite. Made us feel very welcome. it is an older bailed out. But it was a great value in a great location. In the downtown area.

I've been hopping around the budget motels in Cedar City for years, since I go down every summer and fall for the Shakespeare festival and I have to count my pennies. In comparison to other places at the same price, THIS PLACE IS FANTASTIC. It's been around for years so occasionally you get a room that has seen better days, a little wear and tear. But the place is clean, pleasant, and has a pool that I'd feel okay getting into. It is just a little over a block from the festival theaters, so you don't have to worry about parking. It even has a microwave and fridge in each room, so if money gets really tight you can grab a frozen dinner from the grocery store or warm up your left overs from the night before.

Stayed four nights to attend attend Shakespeare festival. Pros: LOVED the location, right downtown, in walking distance to the theaters and shops. And the price was wonderful for a theater-goer on a budget. Staff was friendly and helpful. Clean room. Fridge and microwave in room, both very clean and functioning. Free Continental breakfast basic but filling, who doesn't love waffles? Cons: The mattress was hard without being supportive. From the wallpaper in the bathroom to the decor, the room seemed really dated. There isn't an elevator to get to the third floor, so it can be a bit of a hike. The layout of the hotel is... unique, slightly maze-like, which I sort of enjoy but got my traveling companion turned around a few times. Also their pool wasn't fully filled while I was there.

unclean, misleading, and many items unavailable as adverstise

This hotel has not been updated since at least the early 80's. There was no attendant on duty 24hrs, in fact there was no attendant at all. There was a note on the counter saying to call the hotel next door (best western) and someone would be over to help us. When the person finally arrived they said that the property was being managed by the hotel next door for the season. The pool was empty with about 2 feet of green algae and moss at the the bottom, the carpet is torn and completely worn out on the route to our room, all furniture and appliances were 30 years old plus. The entrance to the rooms is next to the dumpster which is was disgusting and could have had adequate fencing to cover it. With all the competition in the area this place was garbage.

My partner and I did not get into town till very late. There was no front desk attendant and we had to go across the street to check-in with the staff at the Best Western. I have never seen a hotel do this before and it was mildly incovenient and frustrating after a long drive.
