Nothing changes in this hotel. The rooms, dining menu, paint and some staff are just the same as when I first visited in 2005. The hotel is located in an old suburb (Guadalupe) not far from the centre of town but poorly served by transport. It was originally established by a phil antique collector and is very attractive in traditional, authentic spanish-philippino style. I think he sold it to Crown Regench hotel group around 2006. They have done nothing to maintain it since. I think it is not to be missed, but don't expect 3 star service or food; make do with the 5 star antiques and layout which is well worth a visit. If you like stability this is the place for you. I am here because my phil family lives nearby. So its convenient and staff are hospitable and forgiving of me bringing food in. It has modest shopping malls nearby. However, the hotel has vast potential to be a boutique establishment. It is a treasure house of philippino antiques both within rooms, restaurant and outside. So why don't the owners smarten it up? Air cons have been recently renewed, but their fittings in the walls are still old and wonky. However, the hotel has superb facilities for parties, exclusive accommodation in antique laden suites for distinguished guest such as Presidents and CEOs, believe it or not-but you won't find them unless you seek them out. Every room has a unique theme with a selected number of phil antiques. The food is poor and unchanging year after year. There is a nice pool and it's clean as are the rooms. But so much more could be done to make it a real star in Cebu. All I can conclude is the owners have no interest in its great heritage. What a shame. The hotel is worth a visit just to see the antiques. As it is it will attract locals and their visitors and miss international tourists. What a shame. Not to be missed if you want to see Phil-Spanish antiques in a attractive setting.
Though the hotel is a bit outdated, the staff are doing their best to provide a "hommie" service. If you are a local and looking for a place to rest and unwind far from the hustle of the city.. i recommend ths place.. Kudos to Mars who did an excellent attitude to me.. Her computer got broke but she did everything to accomodate my needs.. She did all her best even punching in my orders to a POS located on the upper floors..
The hotel was adequate for me and my classmates. They have provided an excellent service in all areas. Except that the room quality is not that exciting. Far from the city proper but it's okay. The staff were accommodating.
Their food is delicious. The staffs are friendly and accommodating. I wasn't able to swim though because their pool is so deep (for someone who doesn't know how to swim) but I enjoyed sitting at the side because of their mini "water fall."
The hotel staff has impeccable service, from housekeeping to pool attendants though the hotel and the room is old and rusty they probably needs renovation ASAP, when you open the door to the terrace you'll find a bit of junggle view due to the vines hangging around. The free breakfast serve was delicious and satisfying.
Really disappointed as room and furniture very old and smelt of chlorine .more like a hospital room i thought .i thought i was paying $94 for 2 nights but then an extra 23% added on thanks to booking.com not including everything in the price .very nice surprise .i paid cash but they insist on the voucher i just hope to god im not paying twice...ill steer clear of this hotel and booking.com in future as the cheapest price isn't afterall ..my bad should of read fine print while bouncing around in transport 😲
We held our baby's christening reception at the Court Yard of this hotel. There's a rustic country side feel to it which I think was suitable for a gathering of family and friends. We only paid for the buffet and 4 hours use of the venue (included in the per head charge). We did not bother to add decorations since the room itself was beautiful and the staff had dressed up the buffet and dining tables nicely. They set up a stage where we could hang the tarp and placed a sofa at the center for picture taking purposes. They also provided separate tables for the cake and gifts from guests. The food was good and was more than enough for 70 people. There was no corkage fee for 1 lechon (roasted pig), cake and ice cream. The staff were polite and pleasant to deal with. Overall, we were very satisfied at how the event turned out.
Looking at the walls, you could tell this place was either really old, or just not maintained well. There were holes and cracks in many places. All the corridor lights are yellow and dim, so at night it's extremely creepy. It feels like there's no one else around. If you liked The Shining, you'll love this place! Haha. But it's not a bad hotel at all, just kinda horror movie-ish. Service was ok. Amenities weren't bad, room was surprisingly huge. No bottled water or coffee in the room so make sure to request once you check in. Room had a tv, mini fridge, hair dryer, & tub. Also, there's a karaoke bar in the hotel!
I book a room but they upgraded me to be in the villa. The staff are courteous and very helpful. Villa is very safe with guard and the place is clean. I rate it 9/10. Food taste good. With varieties to choose from. My family feel the relax ambiance of the place. since it is just in the city so there are lots of transportation to choose from and close to market, shops and restaurant.
Very quite and private. Advisable for those who would like a peaceful ambiance. The room is clean and the staff has the initiative to clean and change bed sheet every day. We stayed in the hotel for 4 days and price is ver affordable.
