we just stayed there the 1 night, after being in a really bad place. Really helpful, excellent service, very helpful staff they go out of their way to assist, speak really good English. Walking distance to a lot of the attractions.
Now here is a place right in the centre of Catania.... the rooms are old... yes, it has a charm too but.... it just needs an uplift. Bathroom with shower... the shower wall is just cracking and old... air conditioner sometimes stops working if the net is over used... and when you come in there is a pretty steep staircase to climb... I did not book this place myself ... But.... the very positive thing about this hotel is its staff... they are just wonderful!!!
Went to the Stesicorea Palace with friends after spending a few days in Malta, we decided to go Sicily. I researched several hotels, and this hotel suited our budget but most importantly we wanted to stay in a central location and the location is perfect, right in the heart of the city. I booked a room for myself and my two friends booked a room to share. We caught the bus from the airport to the centre and managed to walk and find the hotel after asking a few people where it was and remembering to look out for a McDonalds as it was next door. We got to the hotel. We were faced with quite a few steps which we didn't mind. The guy at reception was so friendly and helpful, once he even walked outside the hotel with us to show us where the bus stop was for going back to the airport! The hotel is very small, which was nice. The room was fine, big bed, nice room, bathroom was fine. For the price we paid, we were in no position to complain like others have as we only wanted to sleep in the hotel, and as we were only staying for 2 nights, we wanted to explore and not stay in the room. The room had a tv, hairdryer, big cupboards and other amenities which was nice. The breakfast was a nice selection, the ladies didn't speak English but were friendly enough. The cakes were lovely. Basic but perfect for a start of the day. I was not expecting a 5 star lavish breakfast. would definitely recommend staying at the hotel and would definitely stay again if I was in Sicily. I wouldn't call it a palace but wouldn't call it a hostel either. A nice hotel which was great value and enjoyed it more than the 4 star hotel we stayed in Malta!
noisy room because of the cleaning of the streets very early in the morning- every morning but excllent location ,very frendly people good for thiis price good breakfast, good conection with travel agencies for excursions
We had booked this hotel via BA Holidays which we have used successfully many times. It had a fairly good review on a number of sites. When we arrived it was shabby from outside and inside was just as bad. The only room left was an internal one, which had no external windows and the so called bathroom measured one by two metres. The photographs on various web sites had obviously been taken with care to avoid the truth. I now have actual photographs which differ widely to those used for marketing purposes. It is more like a student B&B or back packers place. No offence to those users but certainly not an hotel as we understand the term. We did not stay ! We found alternative and much better accommodation a few minutes away at the Valentino Hotel.
Very helpful staff especially the owners who went out of their way to help in a booking problem that was not in any way their fault. I would highly recommend ´this hotel for its location that is in the centre of catania.
Stesicorea Palace is a small property placed in one of the most typical and busy squares of the baroque city center of Catania, five minute walking from the cathedral and the opera theater. My room was on the rear of the building: everything looked clean and well maintained, the bathroom was essential but clean and properly working; the air conditioner was sufficiently powerful, which in Catania is an indispensable facility. No noise from the street but only a soft rustle of air conditioners; I slept well in the comfortable double bed. In the morning nothing more than a sober breakfast. Last but not least the staff is very kind and helpfull.
Conveniently situated in the middle of Catania, despite the impracticable parking situation... Not that there is no spot but hard to find a free one and be ready to pay your car park until 3:00am! The hotel is basic. Not very comfy bed (not a double but 2 stick together). Loud so you can hear the people chatting at the register . Pretty rare on changing towels or brining toilet paper or soap. Basic breakfast but good coffee.
Nice staff & excellent service. Located in the centre of catania, close to the bus station, shops & open market. Very helpful receptionists especially the 2 middle age guys, and the lady serving coffee during breakfast was always with a smile on her face. I really recommend this hotel.
We visited Stesicorea Palace for 4 nights last July and our stay at the hotel was amazing. On the day we arrived, we were greeted by Orazio at the reception. We were a bit lost since we arrived on a Sunday and the city in the morning was a bit quiet but Orazio showed us our room and were can go during our stay. The room was spacious, always clean and clean towels were supplied everyday. When we were unsure where to go in the morning, the reception staff were always so helpful. The location couldn't be any better as it is in the city centre opposite to where the markets are every day. And it is also close to the bus station so it was really easy to travel. We also booked our transfers to Etnaland and back to the airport from the hotel and at a cheap price compared to other taxis we asked during our stay. Sice our flight back was really late we checked out in the morning but the hotel staff offered to keep our luggages till we head back to the airport. Breakfast was also very good. :)
