We stayed hefe in september 2016 for a week on b&b basis, we arranged flights and hotel separately. The room was large and very clean with sea view balcony. Staff were friendly and helpful. The location is slightly outside catania but there are regular bus services. Although we travelled a bit around it wasnt ideal being away from the train station. A supermarket was just next door and at the marina were loads restaurants, one better than the other. The access to the private sun terrace is easy through a tunnel and you can jump into the cristal clear water or lie on the sunbeds provided.
We had a lovely stay here for 6 nights in August/September. Fantastic staff, room nice. Pool lovely and sea swimming fantastic. Major issue is the distance from town and the unscrupulous taxi drivers. The buses were very unreliable running in to town and sometimes followed the timetable but sometimes didn't. This made any transport links difficult to gauge. Taxis were 18 Euros one way from the station/centre of town and one taxi driver claimed not to know where the hotel was (despite confidently telling us he did when we set off), dumped us 1/3 of the way home and demanded 10 Euros. The transport issues were the only thing that made us glad to be moving at the end of our stay. This would all be solved by the hotel providing a minibus in to town at certain times throughout the day.
With it's own tunnel to a private beach this hotel has great sea views and a fabulous pool. The rooms are average in size but well fitted out and the breakfast was comprehensive - well, as comprehensive as any other Sicilian hotel. One of the very few hotels we used that actually had a car park near reception - a welcome change
All is all the stay was pleasant. The rooms were clean although they can use new carpeting in the hallways. The pool/bar was a nice amenity and it was centrally located to do things in and around Catania. We were picked up at the hotel for tours to Syracuse and Mt. Etna with no problem. The wifi wasn't great but it did work.
Booked a delux room on line as I would have been travelling all day of the check in and Leaving early for the airport the following day. The room was clean but needed some TLC. I did have a balcony with a sea view but would of appreciate a room at higher level given the cost. The WIFI is very poor and had the unfortunate experience of power failures leading to Alarms going off and not being able to sleep.
Good room, rather big, nice balcony with a sea view, bathroom was ok. Sometimes wi-fi didn't work, daily cleaning rooms. Breakfast was the same all days but fine. Fresh orange juice 👍 every day parties near swimming pool was awful - loud music didn't give a chance to sleep (up to 2-3 a.m.). Hotel's beach is tiny and costs 10 € per day, wasn't included in a room price. It was very strange - never see before. This hotel is better for business - conferences or for celebrations. I spent a week and there was only 1 calm evening. All the others - party-party-party.
I booked 2 delux double rooms for 4 nights, 1 room was perfect, clean, cool and the bed was comfortable, the cleaning everyday was excellent. The 2nd room was the same except the aircon did not work however and engineer was out very quickly to fix. Breakfast was a buffy style the fresh orange juice and coffee was pretty good and alot of variety on the food front. We thoroughly enjoyed sunbathing on their lovely private terrace looking out over the sea, clean towels were provided everyday. Steps down to the sea were safe to get into the water for a swim, a lifeguard was on duty all the time. An amazing cafe beside the hotel is a must to visit and there is a supermarket behind the hotel which is great for the emergencies. Not many good restaurants around but we found a lovely fishing port about 5 minute walk that had good Italian restaurants so worth a visit here and quiet place to eat. Reception staff were very helpful in all our requests. We enjoyed our stay in this hotel.
We decided to stay in Catania not too far from the airport as last time we went to Sicily we travelled a lot. The hotel was in the ideal location - by the sea, not too far from Catania and the airport and with pleasant walks in the area as well as a variety of eating establishments. The room was good although on the last night the aircon did not seem to be working properly. There is a funfair nearby and often there are functions around the pool - we thought this would make the room noisy but the double glazing of the balcony doors kept any noise out. I only went in the pool on one day as a lot of the time the staff had roped off two or three sides to the pool to lay up for functions - although you could still go in the water or sit by the pool, we would have preferred to sit in the shade where they were laying up. We had a lovely view of the pool and the sea. We stayed eleven days but only ate in the restaurant on the first and last night. The food was very good. Breakfast could have been better though - as there seemed to be so many functions or groups staying, we were left with barely any choice when we went down to breakfast at about nine - often no tables were set up and we had to search for cutlery or crockery. The orange juice and coffee were good though - freshly squeezed orange juice. There was barely any fresh fruit and the 'hot' food wasn't hot. The wifi was free but could be a bit unreliable. The staff were very pleasant - particularly the receptionists and especially Latifa who was most concerned that our keys might not be working as there had been a major breakdown of the computerised system which they were having mended the next day. As it happened our keys were fine. We really enjoyed our stay despite these few gripes.
Not a great Hotel but an average one. Services at at the minimum wage and discomfort about long wait to the reception are quite impressive. However it has a good potential, especially if it will get a complete renew of personnel and manager staff. You pay what you get.
We rented 2 rooms with my wife and my parents. We saw the rooms filled with the keys they gave us. We went back to the reception desk and asked them to give us another room. There were some others in the new rooms they gave and this was unbelievable. For the first time in our lives we have lived something. It was a practice to get to a hotel that received 100 euro per night. The name of the staff was latife. I congratulate them for this unforgettable night.
