We rented 2 rooms with my wife and my parents. We saw the rooms filled with the keys they gave us. We went back to the reception desk and asked them to give us another room. There were some others in the new rooms they gave and this was unbelievable. For the first time in our lives we have lived something. It was a practice to get to a hotel that received 100 euro per night. The name of the staff was latife. I congratulate them for this unforgettable night.
My friend and I booked a 4 day break in a superior double room with sea view. We arrived at around 11.00pm very hungry. The bar menu is poor for a hotel of this asvertised calibre...ham and cheese toasties, tomatoe & mozzarella salad..The Room service menu is exactly the same as the Bar menu. We couldn't sleep as the amusement park situated next door was in full swing and carried on way past 2.00am! The A/C wasn't working. Day 2 we changed room to the far end of the hotel. For the next 3 mornings we were woken up at 5.30am by the garbage and glass collection trucks!! Again the A/C wasn't working. Also you cannot get one television channel without service disruption. The glass doors leading onto the terrace are filthy and caked with salty granules. The pool doesn't open till 10.00am and the pool bar was closed the whole time! The hotel organises lunchtime venues for public groups so the seating area around the pool and the outside restaurant area is always taken up.The beach concession wasn't ready till mid week. If you don't get to breakfast before 8.00am there's no loaves of fresh bread left and they don't replace it.Hotel staff appear to be fully stretched...doing breakfast duties as well as dinner and bar duties. WiFi is extremely intermittent. These are not picky (?) statements, this is the reality at the hotel, do not be deceived by the photos...PS: they don't give you a photo of the Amusement Park in its glory in the evenings!
We stayed in this beautiful old Villa for 5 nights. We found the owners so helpful and they even stayed up till well past midnight one night because we were late getting back from a tour! Breakfast on the patio has views that can't be beaten. The Hotel is perfectly placed for a 2 minute walk to the Bus Depot. A 5 minute walk to restaurants and the main street make this a perfect place to stay. We look forward to returning.
Nice rooms, bathroom very good, easy to use shower. Lovely view sea view and balcony pleasant to sit on. We took half board, and the evening meal food was excellent with a good choice of meat, fish and veggie dishes from the a la carte menu up to value of 30 euros. Very nice large swimming pool, well maintained. Reception staff helpful and friendly, particularly Latifa. Local bus service to Catania centre for only 1 euro, or we also walked it in approx 35mns. Breakfast plentiful. We did have to ask them to look at the air con which did not seem cool enough, and they fixed this quickly. Large supermarket just behind hotel.
To give proper information to picky(?) travelers who want to stay away from crowded tourist spot but not far from the center of the city to enjoy to stroll around to stop over the Castello, museums, cathedral and monastery etc.
Very traditional italian high-end hotel along the sea promenade, close to city center. Comfortable bed but room amenities a little bit outdated. Good breakfast. Nice looking pool but I could not use it because of weather conditions early April.
We didn't actually stay in the hotel but we had complimentary use of the facilities when staying at an apartment nearby, and we also ate here. The outdoor pool area is fantastic! We ate on the terrace nearby and found the food and service to be very good.
This felt like a very traditional Sicilian hotel - tiled floors, dark furniture, etc. I usually stay in much more modern hotels, so it's not really what I'm used to, but if this is what you're looking for you'll have a very pleasant stay. My room had a beautiful view of the ocean, and a little balcony, which would have been lovely in the summer months. The bed was very hard, yet actually surprisingly comfortable. Breakfast offered plenty of variety, including delicious fresh orange juice (you actually fed the oranges into the machine and watched as it juiced them!). The hotel is quite far from the centre of Catania, but there are several little cafes and restaurants close by. There is an outdoor pool; it looked like it needed a bit of cleaning, but this is probably because it was February and was therefore closed. The only problem I had was that I was staying for business, and the wifi was terrible - I could barely even access emails most of the time. Overall, if you are looking for a very traditional Sicilian hotel for a short holiday, this would probably fit the bill nicely.
We stayed here, sadly, only for one night. After cold, windy day only we've wanted a hot coup of tea. And we had more then one in the bar. The waiter was nice and tea was served perfectly with couple of extraordinary italian biscuits. Bathroom eas clean and modern. For breakfast, there was a gluten free corner and I did't have to ask for glutenfree food. Just perfect...
Only stayed one night in a room with a sea view. All ares were very high quality, well finished and breakfast room was beautiful with an access to the pool. Location was bit far away so would recommend getting a taxi to the center of Catania for sightseeing. Staff was very helpful and polite, breakfast had a good variety of foods to choose from. Highly recommended for some relaxing and staying at the pool/beach.
