Super 8 Castlegar BC

We were well into our late season holiday into The Kootenays and pulled into Castlegar one afternoon. After checking out the changes to the Sculpture Walk from the last time we were in town (August 2016), we hit a coffee shop and decided on a room for the night. The Super 8 was near the end of town we wanted to be in to leave the next morning. What we didn't expect was the giant waterslide and hot tub. I don't think we had been in our room more than 10-minutes and my wife was pushing me to get ready for some play time on the waterslide. She's 60, I'm 57. We had a blast! The check-in girl was sarcastic and funny, which I truly enjoyed and the check-out girl the next morning was a sweetheart. The breakfast room was very well laid out, had awesome food selections (the waffle machine is my go-to item) and the hotel looked far more upscale than what the pricing indicated. We even have pre-booked two more nights for early in 2018! This is a great place to stay. The rooms are very, very nice, complete with a really functional kitchenette and incredibly comfortable beds. You NEED to stay here the next time you come to Castlegar!!!

Castlegar is a one-long-main-drag, stretched out, noisy working town so keep that in mind. That said, this Super 8 is swankier than expected. We paid more for a room with a king and a kitchenette and the extra space, small table and chairs and option to cook up a little something was nice. You can find some worn edges but our room was very clean, the mattress nice and the soundproofing from the trains and traffic adequate. The "balcony" is kind of a joke, unless you enjoy sitting outside in a small, enclosed space listening to traffic and trains. And, if you want to cook in room, you can walk to the grocery store. If I was in Castlegar again I'd probably stay here. But, then, I probably won't be in Castlegar again.

I was a part of a group that stayed at the Super 8 on Sunday September 10th. Upon arrival, found out that the hotel was very busy with a conference in town at the same time. The other guests of the hotel were very demanding of the staff, and quite rude to the front desk at numerous times during our stay. Regardless, staff were polite, professional and happy at all times. We thoroughly enjoyed the theme rooms, the use of the meeting room, and of course the pool/hottub. Theme rooms are not only fun, but also comfortable even for adults, which we were pleasantly surprised by. Hotel is close to all amenities - grocery store, bank, coffee shop, restaurant, liquor store etc. Perfect for a group, or even a kids birthday party which was there earlier in the day! Thank you for hosting our group.

Have stayed at Super 8 Castlegar many times now and have never been disappointed. Friendly helpful staff, clean rooms and a great pool.

The theme rooms were well done, the grandkids loved it, and I appreciated that the adult bedroom was a pleasant neutral colour, with t.v.'s in both rooms and a pocket door to separate if needed. We will be trying each one on my return visits.

Would stay here again and again. Front staff are terrific people, very accommodating and friendly. Any information I provided was welcomed and they appreciated it. Wish the pool was open earlier but all other amenities were welcomed. Good sleep in comfy beds... Like I said - would stay here again. Cheers

the hotel was clean and offered everything we needed for the weekend. Kids enjoyed the pool and liked the room that accessed the pool (spiderman themed). The room we stayed in had no window that opened to the outside which didn't allow any fresh air in. Air conditioning helped with that, though.

This 54-room hotel is the best quality and price in the Castlegar, BC region with unmatched customer service and friendly smiles of hotel clerks. It impresses me to hear a nice greeting when walking through the front door after a hard day's work, and leaving early in the morning to see a nice smile with "Have a Good Day," is something that I remember and look forward to returning from a day's toils. My bed was always made nicely, and the room smelled good; housekeeping staff is great. Management is none better to handle both business and leisure guests. Wonderful indoor pool with big slide to accommodate even adults; pool is cleaned daily, and that counts a lot for me. Maintenance staff is quick to respond. Morning breakfast is adequate for the day, and the Dutch coffee is superb! Best I've ever tasted. If you value good customer service by beautiful ladies who are professionals in their respective line of work, then this is the hotel of choice. Restaurants are nearby, most within waling distance. Ask the hotel desk clerks for advice on anything in the area. If my job sent me back to British Columbia again to check on our customer account, I definitely would stay at Super 8, and hope they remember my two-month stay.

This is an excellent stopover spot on a trip from Taber Ab to Surrey. Easy to get at and excellent service. Nice restaurant right next door with excellent service and food. Will definitely stop again when going through.

Always stay here as they are always accommodating us even with short notice, location is very good for our needs .Have always recommended this Super8 when asked where to stay.
