I stayed here years ago but they haven´t done anything since than. It is dirty, old, full of mould. They clean rooms every day but only the rooms. On there floor there were for 3 days an empty PET bottle and faq butts no one cleaned. The breakfast also is something with room for improvement, the juice is just colored suggar, The bar at the basments is closed and the one on the top opens only on demand. A door of the fire exit to the staircase I could not open, another was half blokced by chairs. Also the are outside of the hotel is not cleaned, dried and no one really looks after it. Therefore a price of 100,-€ night is realy imprudent.
My partner stayed one night there whilst on Portugal recently. The room was old and shabby and the toilet didn't flush properly. This is the least one could expect on holiday . He didn't try the breakfast as he felt the hotel was so tabby he didn't want to, This hotel needs a complete over all as soon as possible. The room tariff posted by the hotel was a lot more than on a well known booking site for hotels. Don't stay there .
Currently staying at your hotel in the room 420. The room is dirty, cold and disgusting to be in. I am asking to be moved to a different room as soon as possible but the reception staff is terrible and rude. We will be filing an official complaint against the hotel and the dirty and unhealthy conditions that are dangerous to the people who have a medical issue.
We were dissapointed at first, the first night the floor that we were on was full of teenagers playing and making noise in the hallway, after some phone calls to the reception at 2 am we were able to fall asleep. The room had an ocean view which was a plus but the carpet was dirty and the doors made noises ( everybody in our group complained about the room) . The restaurant on the 8th floor had a lovely view but at breakfast the food had no diversity, so we would had to buy something to eat from the supermarket/restaurant near us. The food at dinner was better. Carcavelos doesn t have souvenir shops so take the train and do the shopping elsewhere.
This is the most garbage place i have ever stayed. I'm 64. Try parking around the back and entering through the rear door from the car park. Such an amazing experience. Minging, manky, it's got it all. The breakfast is of lowest quality with long life croissants, it reminds me of a 1950's holiday camp with a great view. Beds hard and uncomfortable. Should have been renovated 20 years ago. 70 euros a night, more like 7.
This is more like an overpriced one or maybe two star hotel. I am not a pretentious person and have stayed in many countries at worse places, however, when paying 95 euro a night I expect something half decent. This hotel advertises itself as a 4 star with ocean view, that it has if above the 3rd floor, we were in 6 so great view, it also states it has a pool, with pool bar, the pool was broken and appeared not to be a priority to fix as it probably hadn't been used in a few years, thus no pool bar either. It states Lobby bar and that was not open in our 5 day stay. Also roof top restaurant, only buffet style and they are annoyed when asked if we can order off menu. Included breakfast made us feel ill two mornings, same thing everyday. Supper was all overcooked mushy vegetables and bland overcooked meat. The room was large and spacious and housekeeping in room was great, but the bed omg - I felt fine when I went to bed but after trying to sleep on the rock like mattress we woke up stiff and sore. Only one lady at reception was nice and helpful the rest were rude. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!
This hotel is not 4 star standard! The garden was littered with rubbish who's is the first thing you see when you approach reception. The rooms are very basic - no tea and coffee making facilities in room. The whole hotel needs renovations, the carpets are worn, the furniture is old and needs replacing, the curtains in the restaurant are outdated. We upgraded our room to a sea view which, the view was nice once you could look past the dirty and empty swimming pool and the old mucky sun beds. I would not recommend this to anyone or would I stay there again. Would like to end with a positive, the staff except one, were all very courteous and willing to help, and the location is fantastic, walking distance to beach, bars and restaurants, and a taxi rank right outside if you wanted to venture further.
It's more like a 3 stars hotel than the rated 4 stars. Not because of the surrounded environment and the fabulous location available, this is easily rated as 4 stars. It's a 2 or 3 stars hotel because of the rooms cleanliness, with lots of stains in the carpet floor and the walls/ceiling has cracks and lack of painting as well has the furniture. Pretty mediocre for the expected. Level. The breakfast time (buffet style) was marked by almost all the employees present us with a very bad mood, which the only preoccupation were dispatch the breakfasts as quick as possible to have the the tables ready for lunch time. They even block for 2 times my way to go pick up more food and to my girlfriend happened once, pushing the tables and chairs without any care for the dozen guests that were still eating their breakfast, doing any noise they want. The only cool and decent employee that was in that room was the man that lately, I noticed that it was a trainee or novice in that job. While appreciating the fantastic sea view, it all went down the toilet when we saw the hotel pool below our eyes, which was with water but totally green and with a lot of dirty things in it. I'm aware that it's not the vacation season yet but this is a detail that shows a lot of the care that they give to the hotel. At the check out time I was waiting in the reception (with another guest that was already waiting) and I totally give up after more than 10 minutes waiting for someone to went to front desk. We heard voices coming from Back office but no one came to attend us. I leaved the room key on the tip of the computer keyboard and leave...to never come back again for sure. I was glad that I only have paid less than 48 euros for that night.
When you are going to 4* hotel, you expect something else. If it had 2*, the rating would be higher because your expectations are not so high :-) The only positive about the hotel is its location. Breakfast is average but if you stay in the hotel for more than 5 days, you will just avoid it.
Spent a week here. The suite was spacious and the view of the sea was panoramic. Breakfast was substantial too. Several good restaurants nearby The pool could've been cleaned daily, rather than every other day to stop algae. However, it was nice and quiet for a sunbathe or swim. Close to Lisbon, Estoril etc. I'd suggest hiring a car as it gave us freedom to explore. Much nicer than staying in the City too!
