We stopped here on the way home from spring break. Staff was friendly, check-in fast, they gave us a list of places to eat close by and recommended a few. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Great breakfast ! View of the lake was beautiful. Nice little town.
Arrived here after long travel day. Seemed different from other Hampton’s we have stayed in. Room was small and there was a “barn door” (one of those sliding things) on bathroom. Also the closet was a hanging rod behind curtains on side of bed. Where we thought a picture window was behind the drapes, we found a “closet” of sorts. You almost had to climb on the bed to get to the “closet”. With only an overnight stay, we would not be using it The place was clean and the beds were good and breakfast was decent. For a one night stay, for only two adults it was fine..... just not what I expect from a Hampton Inn.
Calculating the time required between two rather important weekend responsibilities, the ideal spot seemed to focus slightly north of Knoxville, Tennessee: Caryville. The reviews of the Hampton Inn there seemed to be ideal, so that is where the reservation was made. Parenthetically, on trips from Georgia to Kentucky, or the Florida Panhandle to Ohio, or Disney World to Michigan, Tennessee Exit 134 is about halfway. When taking exit 134 to Caryville, and ascending up the hill to the Hampton Inn, my eye caught sight of several handsome animals, some white and some black. Soon I came to realize the classy but gentile nature of these Andean imports would characterize the very ambience of the hotel around which they grazed.. Not nearly as large as most metropolitan Hampton Inns, this one, a stone's throw from the picturesque Cove Lake State Park, had all the conveniences and benefits of the brand name, and the next morning, after a delightful breakfast, I was fully determined to stay here at the next opportunity..
Situated high on a hill overlooking a lake and state park. 2 story, sprawling building with lots of local history displayed. Alpacas (really!) grazing the grounds, Older Hampton but the rooms have been mostly redone and the bathrooms are quite nice. No closet but there is an area behind a curtain to hang clothes. Very friendly staff at the front desk and at breakfast. Have stayed here several times as it is just off I75 and is the only really decent hotel in the area just before you head northbound over Jellico mountain.
Highly recommend this hotel..first class in every way with a great view of the mountains and excellent amenities and service. Friendly, courteous and efficient staff, a super complimentary breakfast and wonderfully designed rooms with very comfortable beds. Very good value here. Thank you!
Clean, modern hotel. Friendly staff. Very good breakfast. Scenic views of mountains and cove lake. Llamas on adjouning property. We always stay at this hotel when visiting eastern Tennessee. Never disappointed.
A clean place to stay near I 75. A great check in experience. Quiet rooms, and great water supply for bathing . A variety of breaskfast items available in the morning. There is wheel chair accessibility.
My family enjoyed our overnight stay at this hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the fireplace in the room on the cold night when we stayed at this hotel. We will stay here again if we are traveling this way!
Unfortunately all the historical decor is gone now and this is now just another average hotel. The sliding doors on the bathrooms are not an improvement nor is the “closet” which is merely three hooks behind the drapes. One thing that hasn’t changed is the juice machine and that is NOT good. Why can every other Hampton provide adequate juice but this one waters it down to merely a faint color in the water?
The best hotel to stay at on the trek to Florida for March Break. Great breakfast, friendly service, and clean rooms. Outdoor pool is closed at this time of year as expected. Ask the staff about places to eat...very helpful.
