My Husband and I were driving home to KY from FL, exhausted after 13 hours of travel we had to stop and rest. At about 3 AM this was the last room left in a 25 mile radius. We were looking for a reasonably priced, simple, clean room to sleep for a few hours, shower and finish the drive home the next day. I felt dirtier after sleeping and showering at Quality Inn & Suites (GA349) than before we checked in. It was filthy - there were cobwebs all over the walls and ceiling. At least a dozen HAIRS from previous guest were in the bathroom sink, shower, on the counter and floor. Something had been spilt/slashed onto the bathroom door leaving a mark about 3 square feet, it was clear no one ever attempted to clean it. On the other side of that door was a dent about the same size, like someone had fallen into the door. Other stains decorated the walls and floor boards. There was writing on the insides of the lamp shades, so when the lights were on you could clearly read the graffiti. The sheets were fresh, but the bed spread was also used and dirty. Being in the room gave me an overwhelming feeling of uncleanliness. It was the only room left, there was no other we could as for. It was also a Smoking Suite. The woman who checked us in assured us they clean the rooms thoroughly between guest to remove the smoke smell, we would hardly notice it. The smell was overwhelming, there was no window to open and no way to diffuse it. We knew it was a smoking room, so we didn't complain. There was nothing special about this room to call it a suite and charge $30 more for it. I would have rather slept in the car for a few hours than pay $130 for this. But, my husband, who was doing the majority of driving, needed to sleep, no other hotels had rooms, so we stayed our few hours and made it home happily the next day. The lack of rooms was a result of 1) Spring Break travel and 2) construction- a large work crew had filled nearly the entire other hotel at this exit. That was were we planed to stay.
The rooms, grounds, and lobby of this hotel well clean and welcoming. The bed was comfortable, the bedding was fresh, you could see carpet vacuum lines, which impressed me. We stayed in a king suite, which was spacious. The water was HOT, and that's always a plus. Close enough to Plant Bowen for Georgia Power workers to stay. It was quiet at night and we enjoyed our stay with our three small kids! One front desk worker in particular (I believe her name was Patricia, but I know it started with a P) went above and beyond to accommodate us and make us feel welcome. I'd definitely recommend!
The room was dirty. Inside of the microwave and fridge had spilled food! There were no hand towels and wash cloths. The mirrors were not clean in the corners, dirty foot prints in the bathroom and the floor wasn't swept well!! We ended up going to a different place and only got w 50% refund!
When I travel alone on business I just want a clean room with a comfortable bed. Don’t need to pay extra for the frills. This place was very nice. Clean room - comfortable bed - friendly, efficient staff with a more than adequate free breakfast. All at a great price.
The rooms and bathrooms were clean and well appointed. No carpeting on the floors. Nice lobby and breakfast with a variety of both hot and cold items. Rooms amenities include microwave, mini-fridge, iron & board, coffee pot & hair dryer. The frontage road to the motel is in disrepair, huge pot holes. The railroad tracks are within 100 feet of the motel running along the backside of the property and there is rail crossing. So many train whistles.
Stayed here one night. Arrived after dark, outside of building appeared quaint and clean. Upon entering room room noticed fragrant smell, bed appeared clean. Bathroom was small and dirty. Still had hair from previous guest on floor and on bathtub ( I didn’t let small children take bath). Toilet lid was broken and dirty. Mold/water spots on ceiling in bathroom. I’m not a clean freak by any means, but this room grossed me out. Lobby was clean and free breakfast was nice.
Pros: - We didn't have any problems with our room. It seemed to be pretty clean. - Breakfast was pretty typical and simple, with a few hot items like eggs and sausage, and also cereal, bagels, waffles, etc. Cons: - We arrived after dark and the outside walkways have some pretty large spiders that have taken over. I understand that the property backs up to some woods, but they need to spray or deal with this issue, as I almost couldn't get to our room because of the gigantic spider web spanning across the entire walkway. - The hotel backs up to train tracks - very loud, but it didn't wake us up at night. - I went out for a morning walk around the property and noticed a maintenance man walking around with paint and tools. A few minutes after I got back to my room and was laying on the bed with my son, the guy used his key card, opened the door, looked, then walked back out. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say it was an accident, but that was extremely unnerving. If an accident, I'm not sure why he didn't verify with the office that the room was unoccupied.
The rooms are not clean and the staff lied about the price for the AARP rate! I would not stay again! The breakfast area was cover in ants, so all the food was not eatable. There was a washed and dryer but the entire area was cover in mosquitoes! They obviously need bug spray!
When we checked in the lady (I think she was the manager/owner) was polite. In one of our rooms the refrigerator wasn't working. She immediately got it replaced with one that worked. We also had an issue with the door on the other room. It would open without a key card. Again, fixed immediately. Rooms were both clean and smelled nice. Parking lot is very bumpy and has huge holes. Go slowly in order to not damage your car. A/C's in both rooms kept shutting off. Rooms were hot at times. Another issue we had (which I've never had at any other Choice hotel) was: we wanted to play cards in the lobby one evening during our stay (We stayed 3 nights, 2 rooms). We went to the lobby (youngest person in our party was 15 and there were five of us) we asked if we could use the tables and chairs to play cards. We even brought our own drinks, snacks etc. The lady at the front desk said she would have to call and ask if she was allowed to let us. She said she was allowed but only for two hours (until 9:00pm). I was furious! (I'm a gold member and can't even use their lobby?) Will not be back to this particular establishment.
I will not even waste time writing a long review. Just know that we stopped here for an overnight on a road trip, and it's the dirtiest nastiest place I've ever been. It is run down, smells terrible, and I would've been better off sleeping in a dumpster
