Stayed at this hotel quite a few times now always been trouble free and comfortable, put in a request for rooms at the back to avoid club noise that was granted, also had extra tea, coffee again no problems, car parking not cheap but hotel does give small discount.
Great Service, Great Staff, Great Location. I stay here a lot for business and find it the perfect venue. This time i was back with my family for my daughters graduation. We had a fabulous time with perfect service and attention to detail. We celebrated with a fantastic afternoon tea that was amazing... Dont stay anywhere else in Cardiff..
Stayed here for the weekend the staff are very polite & friendly nothing seems to much trouble for them from when you arrive @ reception throughout our stay. The room was very clean & nicely decorated throughout. The breakfast was very nicely presented & the staff very helpful in the dining room. A little walk from the hotel & your in the heart of Cardiff where you'll find plenty to do whether it's shopping or a quiet drink there also little markets on side roads from within the maze of roads & side streets. We were there solely for the Speedway & we found the hotel ticked all the boxes for our visit & would definitely recommend the hotel. We didn't managed to take advantage of the Spa facilities but will take advantage of it on our next visit.
A special University Graduation trip, we extra for city hall 'facing' (admittedly, they did not say view!) rooms, which do not have any view of the beautiful city hall but of solid trees a few feet away from window. Like being in a tree house. Also, when asking if my daughter's room could be made up as a twin not a double room we were told yes, but they would have to move to a room round the corner. No one explained that this would be a 'downgraded' room with a view onto the other walls of hotel, and no reduction in cost of out stay for the downgrade! I phoned down to reception to ask if we could change rooms, and was told that they would check and phone back. We were in our room for the next hour and a quarter at least, and no one rang. We went out for a couple of hours, and when we came back there was no message, so I did explain to reception that we were waiting for the call. Then someone did ring, but sounded annoyed saying he had called us but no one had answered! He did offer to move us to a 4th floor room with a view for the next night, but as that was graduation day, and we would be rushing around all day, we didn't think it was worth the hassle of moving. Also, when ordering a bottle of £40 champagne in the bar, and then later 4 cocktails, we asked for some crisps or nibbles to come as well and were presented with a menu to buy a meal. REALLY - we would expect a small bowl of peanuts or crisps to come as well, and would have been ok (not happy considering what our bar bill was) to pay for that. A special graduation stay, and details were lacking. would stay elsewhere next time.
On arrival hotel is very nice modern and cosy. There was 10 of us we had booked the restaurant for dinner. I was very impressed as we where seated on a round table. Ordered drinks waiter very good knew his wines 👏🏽ordered filet of steak with the trimmings all I can say is wow!!! Outstanding complements to the chef 👨🍳. Restaurant very clean and tidy hotel is great service excellent. Will re visit we ended the night in the bar with a reserved area. Thank you so much will be back!!
Not the usual standard for a PP hotel. Usually stay in this group of hotels when in the US and the standard is much higher. Basically it needs updating. Not cheap at £129/night. Parking is across the road - which is okay but will add another £20 to your bill, even with the hotel's 20% discount. Rooms fine but again, need updating. Very convenient for city centre - which is I guess what you are paying for.
This hotel was in a great location for our visit for a Cardiff University graduation - all the places we needed to be were in close proximity. We were received very well and encouraged to eat in the restaurant, which we did. It was a pity that on a Sunday evening there was only a set menu and no availability of the rather more attractive A la Carte menu. The rooms were clean and the bathroom immaculate (with perhaps the widest bath I have been in). They did suffer from lack of any view. Good value for money.
This is a great hotel, the junior sweet was excellent. Unfortunately the only parking is in the NCP place opposite and this is very expensive even with the discount offered by the Hotel. There is little room to pull up and unload as buses and taxis park right outside. No help was offered with luggage which has to be pulled up a long ramp or lugged up steps, and I was not shown to my room. There is a spacious shower in the room but no handles to help you getting in an out of a wet space. I did in fact fall and cut my hand on the door and bruise my hip. Normally a place like this supplies complementary bottled water daily. Other Park Plaza's certainly do, however this place did not. I did get a free plaster for my cut hand though. This Park Plaza does not compare to the London hotel for staff or facilities.
Stayed here for 1 night in a suite and was very impressed. Very clean all over, room huge with massive bathroom huge shower and bath for 2. Complimentary wine, water and sweets were left for us which is a nice touch. Bed was a again massive and comfy, air con in room, view not amazing but we shut the curtains anyway. The breakfast was very tasty the morning after. The bar here gets very busy and is very loud but a great pit stops on the Way out in to town, room was quiet all night. Spa is also a great touch but again busy on a Sunday morning. Yes I'd stay again.
We are repeat visitors to PP Cardiff and for the first time we eat in the restaurant on our last visit which prompted us to do the same this visit. Rooms: always fine, comfy beds. Food: Great Spa: Really nice, especially the relaxation room Restaurant Service: not the same as previous visits Bar: the bar usually excellent but on this occasion was awful. The bar manager complained he was short staffed and he indeed was new in post. The bar usually renowned for its cocktails. This time they didn't know what ingredients were needed to make cocktails on the menu, which ruined our experience. We said as much on the night and hope this has improved as this would stop us going there again.
