don't get a room at the back of this hotel unless your a heavy sleeper, the train line is just at the rear and very noisy. apart from that breakfast was good and staff helpful, during our stay the lift was not working.

This hotel was a good budget price, ideal location for the centre of Cardiff only around a 10 minute walk. The hotel was clean and tidy. The breakfast was amazing. The staff were friendly and fun. We stayed here for one night but could of stayed longer it was great. The parking was a Benefit too saving us hefty Cardiff parking prices.

Arrived at 12 before check in time(2pm)i have mobility issues use crutch to walk, the very polite young man who was booking us in rearranged our room from 3rd floor to ground floor the room was ready so he gave us key so we didn't have to hang around till 2pm, all the staff we met were so helpful, polite, had a very restful stay would definitely recommend and come again,

I have to start with the positives check in really efficient, room basic but really clean, location first class, value for money definitely. Breakfast was the issue, I paid my 8.95 at 9 50am and was told it was an all you could eat hot cold buffet. Somebody came at about 9 55 and was told breakfast still open. I checked out the hot options and there were sausages and hash browns with 1 slice of dried bacon congealed baked beans and hard scrambled eggs. Decided to have some toast a sausage and the 1 piece of dried bacon and wait until they put out some fresh food. At this point the new couple advised the staff that they didn't want breakfast after all. I was sitting around the corner so couldn't see what was going on but about 10 10 checked out what was happening and was dismayed to see that they had already started to clear breakfast options (so obviously my plan to wait backfired). Wen checking out I advised that everything was good apart from breakfast and relayed my story. They said I should have said something but I didn't think they took any responsibly for the problem, they didn't advise me when I paid my 8 95 that breakfast was closing shortly, and they should have checked with the only 2 people left whether they had finished. I felt they could have offered to either refund the cost of breakfast or at least return some of the cost but they did neither. It was a shame as it did taint my view of the hotel.

I stayed here for two nights on a business trip. Check-in wasn’t great, as the guy decided to finish cleaning for 10 minutes rather than tend to me and I was tired and just wanted to go to bed! The cleaning could have waited until I was dealt with. He then couldn’t find my name for a while on his device and somehow charged my card twice. He also forgot to write my drinks voucher (I’m a Gold member) and when I emailed about this, the manager said he would give me 2 free drinks next time. But I’m unlikely to be back in Cardiff and so this doesn’t really make up for the poor service on arrival. That said, the guy checking me in was friendly enough and perhaps he is just new to the team or just not having a great day. Other than that, I’ve no complaints, but the price is probably slightly too high for a no frills hotel. The hotel is, however, very clean and comfortable and it was perfect for the couple of nights I stayed. I’d gladly stay here again should I ever be back in Cardiff.

3 star Ibis hotel was spotlessly clean, with attentive staff, no detail overlooked, rooms very acceptable and clean, plenty of room, nice tv, tea and coffee etc, Breakfast was great, with sausages, scrambled egg, hash browns and bacon on the hot buffet, all top quality and cereals, fruit, croisants etc etc for continental. Attention to detail was the was key, thanks to an ever vigilant manager. We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay (Paul and Diana, 3 to 7 June) Thank you very much, Perfect location by the way

I read some of the reviews and they made me want to stand up for this place.. Let's remember its a cheap hotel you get when out for the night- the sort of night that you reminisce about. If you want a fancy hotel with a gold rimmed toilet that does exactly the same as the Ibis in Cardiff go to the Ritz in London. So there is some hair in the shower and the bed is not comfy? That's what my mother calls privileged problems. Some people in the world have to walk 50 miles to get clean water and we complain when it's cold?? Ladies and gents, it is a good room to crash your head. Hearty breakfast in the morning to help ease the pain from the night before. The staff know all the spots to go out for an evening and the Welsh accent is to die for. Who cares if its near a train station? Do your research before hand and you will know. Clean room, good bed, quiet, top staff and has the feel of student digs - if the food isn't for you-you are slap bang in the middle of Cardiff - pop out and get your dinner

First time stay Ibis Cardiff Center hotel, the staff are friendly and helpful, guide me on shopping area, drinks, restaurant and bar area. Recommend to stay for business or family trip. I will book again if travel to Cardiff.

Booked in for one night for the Rhod Gilbert show that night, friendly check in guy at reception, nice sized clean, tidy room, for some reason the air-con wasn't working, hardly in the room so we weren't to bothered. Great location in the centre bang next door to the Motorpoint Arena, but £100 for the night was a bit steep I thought for a 2 star Hotel.

Came here on Friday the 31st Check in was good fast and quick very clean hotel room clean bathroom spotless staff very nice esp the lad with slight curlish hair he was very helpfully (think he was new) but very nice we stayed in room 11. shall return. 10/10 for staff and service
