We had some booking changes with Expedia and Lydia was excellent in helping us to get it figured out before our arrival. I especially liked the breakfast, it was nice to wake up and have breakfast custom made to order- great way to start the day. We had and evening flight and had to leave our luggage behind the desk, during the day and they were very accommodating, though I'm not sure if that's something they normally do.
What made this hotel stand out for me was the staff and service. I had an unfortunate personal situation during my stay, and the staff (especially Gilbert and Tracy, plus the owners) made me feel as if I was family. This is exactly what you want when you're an 18 hour flight away from home. The backyard pool area is small, but lovely. The breakfast was delicious, and made to order. Location is great- right off the main road in Greenpoint, and a 12-minute easy walk to the waterfront. I had a wonderful experience here, but I will offer the following, since it might be an issue for some: there are not floor/ceiling doors in the bathrooms- which may be uncomfortable for some. And because the bathroom (at least the one in the "american graffiti room) was very small, be cautious of the shelving above the toilet - very easy to hit your head on. That's really all the negative things I have to say about the hotel- it's a true boutique hotel, that treats you not as guests, but as friends/family.
A smart boutique hotel with very friendly and attentive staff. Spent 5 nights exploring Cape Town from Villa Zest. Good location and a short walk (15mins ) from the Waterfront. Spacious modern rooms - all styled from the 1970's ( lots of white and clean lines not orange and kaftans ). Staff excellent always ready to help and provide advice on restaurants, trips etc. Surprisingly quiet given the location - one street back from a main road. Only has a small number of rooms that gives it a very intimate feel. The outside pool and garden area looked inviting although we never used it due to unsuitable weather. Yes there is some building work going on next door but this due to be completed within the next few months but we did not find that this impacted on the stay at all as we were out and exploring by the time it started. Certainly a place to consider as a base to explore the city from or a short break.
Stayed here for 2 nights in March ideally located to visit all the attractions in Cape Town. Friendly very helpful staff who couldn't do enough for us . The hotel is peaceful (building work was opposite but never problematic) tastefully decorated modern bright and comfortable. Great base to explore CapeTown highly recommend.
We stayed there for two nights. There is a huge construction site just near the hotel, a tall building which prevents you from enjoying the pool and having your private time at the pool. The rooms are nice and modern but not spacious at all for people with big bags. The breakfast is basic but the women who works at the kitchen is extremely nice and made us the most yummiest omelets. Again I would give this place four stars but since the construction site I would avoid this hotel if you wanna enjoy the pool area. It causes the whole place to become very loud.
I visited the Villa Zest hotel on the recommendation of a friend and I was really pleased. The hotel is modern and clean and welcoming and trendy in a unique way. The bedrooms seemed newly decorated and were spotless. We enjoyed a glass of wine on the roof terrace bar served by the friendly and knowledgeable Elton. The location is great, being just a short walk to the centre. I will stay here again on my next visit.
We stayed here in March for 3 nights and were impressed with the level of service and standard of hotel. Our room was on the ground floor and while it was probably the standard room it had lovely touches (cafetiere, lovely toiletries, fab shower). The staff were friendly and helpful, Elton in particular and you could see they took pride in their hotel. Breakfast was lovely and nicely done, fresh and cooked to order. The location is excellent for waterfront and some nice bars, restaurants and a handy supermarket just round the corner. Yes, there is building work next to the hotel but it never bothered us as we tended to be out and about and the noise wasn't excessive. Great place and we'll be back if we get the chance to return to Cape Town, thoroughly recommend.
I had the pleasure of visiting Villa Zest in March this year with some friends and we had a fantastic time. The staff were wonderful, friendly and helpful, in particular, Elton, the manager, was great. From the moment you walk in the front door, it is a colourful and cheerful experience....taking you back to the seventies! The rooms are funky and cool, the pool area is lovely and having an evening vino on the rooftop is beautiful and relaxingt! Villa Zest is in a very central location, easy walking distance to the V&A Waterfront and the lovely seafront promenade... can't wait to come back again.
The little hotel is well positioned within easy walking distance of the V and A waterfront. Apart from the V and A area there are restaurants even closer by if you only feel like a couple of minutes walk for your evening meal. The place is very well run with helpful and friendly staff. It has a small but pretty swimming pool area and adequate bedrooms. Only drawback for us is that the bathroom is not completely separate from the bedroom and the loo, although behind frosted glass, gives very little privacy. I understand this is likely to be changed in the next year or so. Overallan excellent location and price for your stay in Cape Town.
We visited Villa Zest after a short visit some years ago. The hotel is clean and centrally located. In front of the hotel a new highrise complex is being built which produced some noise during the day. Also with high winds building dust was blowing in the garden. Rooms are very nice. Clean and spacious. The villa in general is spacious where the outdoor facilities are limited. The rooftop terrace is quite small as is the garden. Staff is friendly in general however our checkout could have been better. It almost felt 'cold' in spite of 34 Celsius. A minor after a nice stay. But next time we will go for another accommodation. The feeling was not there in spite of many good things.
