From service over advice for touriststs till a culture of patiënce and “Zen”. Arriving late at night was not the singlest problemen. Great athmosphere of familiarity and politeness. Excellent hardware in the rooms. Superb breakfast
Neat and cozy. Staff are very nice and helpful. Good location as well. The waterfront is within walk distance.Close to many restaurants as well. And the breakfast is perfect. missing the baked beans and the nice lady who cooks it.
The main reason to stay at Villa Zest is the wonderful staff who are always friendly and willing to help with a genuine smile. The villa itself needs a bit of attention to detail to bring it up to the standard depicted in the photos on the website. Although everything was clean, certain spaces like the outside garden and terrace just need a bit of TLC as the furnishings seem a bit worn at the first impression. Breakfast was hit or miss, always being quite slow service if you ordered a hot breakfast. The omelette is fantastic- maybe the best you can get anywhere but definitely skip the eggs benedict, it was the absolute worst I’ve had anywhere. The biggest flaw in our stylish room was that the air conditioning is directly over the bed and will blow constantly down on your head rendering it entirely useless during the night. Due to the humidity and the many mosquitoes who invaded our room after opening the window at night, it was hard to sleep well. It’s a shame that the air conditioning is so poorly positioned as it was necessary to improve the air quality. In all, a nice place to stay but I unfortunately wouldn’t stay again in the summer strictly because of the air conditioning problem in the room. Maybe a quick fix would be to put screens on the windows so it would be at least possible to sleep with the window open?
We stayed at the Villa Zest for two weeks, split with a break to a Game Reserve. The first room we had was upstairs and very comfortable, a good size. Our second stay which was only for the last two nights was in a very small downstairs room, still comfortable though. Lydia and her team are superb and a real credit to this establishment. A special mention to Gilbert, Zam, Nicolette, Olga and Richard all of whom made us very welcome. The hotel is approximately 15 minutes walk to the Waterfront, which in itself has lovely restaurants and shops etc.
The Villa Zest is an excellent hotel. I stay in hotels all around the world and the staff here are amongst the very best I have encountered. Consistently friendly, they always went the extra mile in advice, support and service. The rooms are excellently equipped and very comfortable. The waterfront is an easy and safe 10 minute stroll, the centre of the city a little bit further but not much. Free parking is immediately outside the hotel and it even has a small but perfectly formed swimming pool with plenty of space for sitting outside in sun or shade. Yes, there is no glorious outlook , albeit Signal Hill rises up behind and it is in a decent street, but that is par for the course in any city hotel. It has, however, absolutely everything else and represents very good value. Like the staff, the breakfasts are in a first class category. Unfaultable. We loved it here and so will you.
Villa Zest is located very close to the Cape Town waterfront (about 15 minutes on foot), and is simply an amazing gem. The rooms are modern and clean, and the small intimate atmosphere is a major plus. Breakfast is included and features a combination of cold offerings, along with made to order hot items. There is a courtyard pool, as well as three different common areas, such as a rooftop patio, a large lounge, and a poolside sitting area. Staff are super friendly and helpful. The property features six rooms, with different pros and cons. The poolside rooms are smaller, and a little bit tight, but still comfortable. The rooms on the higher floors are more spacious, but lack the poolside charm. If I had one complaint, then it would be the privacy of the poolside rooms. They feature a frosted glass sliding door, but there is a small rim of non-frosted glass that is fully transparent to those lounging at the pool. This is also true for the bathroom window. So for those concerned about privacy, the rooms on the upper floors may be a better option. Having said that, this is a small detail, and overall, this is a great boutique hotel.
Villa Zest - small boutique hotel very well positioned in quiet place, close to Waterfront, registration and finish of Cape Town Cycle Tour. Personnel is great. I like the design presented in the hotel. It will be extended in a very near future. Looking forward to be back again.
My boyfriend booked at Villa where buy we arrived midnight welcomed buy Richard who was so very nice and helpful to us same as Lydia was nice. All the staff of this hotel they are nothing than super. Breakfast was so amazing with big lounge area. This hotel has been surrounded buy Restaurants Walking distance to V&A and the street are so quiet. Nothing else than to recommend that if you are visiting cape Town don't pass by Villa you never regret enjoy your holiday @ villa Zest is a place to feel at home Excellent hospitality We enjoyed the services at Villa.
We stayed in VZ for 7 nights in February 2018 and adored every minute of it. Due to our flights we were checking in at 1am with a car, and that was no issue at all. The hotel room was gorgeous, a view over the pool, good size and amenities. We were treated daily to a gorgeous breakfast - double spread of continental and then hot breakfast made to order. This is served in the communal lounge area, which really made the hotel feel like a home-away-from-home. Location wise the hotel is tucked away on a quite street in Green Point, within easy walking / super cheap Uber distance of the V&A. Very conveniently there is a range of nice restaurants and a Woolworths (M&S equivalent supermarket) within a few minutes walk. The stand out element that made this the best hotel, was the quality of the service. All of the staff were so friendly and attentive. Nothing was ever too much trouble and they always seemed happy to see us and invested in maximising our time in Cape Town. Next time we are in Cape Town I will without hesitation immediately rebook into Villa Zest.
Very good boutique hotel with adequate rooms (small). Excellent location to make trips in Kaapstad and surroundings. Lots of good tips for nice restaurants and activities from owner. Good breakfast. large guest lounge area.
