The hotel is beautifully situated overlooking cape bay. Our room was well appointed with a nice sitting area.Surprisingly the minbar was cheap! The staff were very helpful and helped us sort out trips .Breakfast was very good and we really enjoyed our stay here
Requested an ocean view room 4 months ago. No interest from check in staff. Totally bored by the whole process. Room tucked away at the back with howling winds. View of the hotel roof. Went to breakfast - staff totally unhelpful. Half the order wrong. No napkins despite asking 3 people. No spoons. Really awful service. I️ stayed here 8 years ago and the service was excellent. Great disappointment. Would not return. Way over priced for such average quality.
My Husband and I spent 4 lovely nights at the Bay Hotel as part of our honeymoon. We had originally booked the Table Bay Hotel by the Waterfront, but after doing some more research we wanted to stay in Camps Bay. We switched to this hotel and are so thankful we did. The staff are amazing, in particular Sedick. The advice he offered us whilst we were there was fantastic and his recommendations in restaurants were fabulous (my partner and I are quite the foodies too and we can be tough critics when it comes to dining and wine). The hotel has lovely generous size rooms, a daily buffet breakfast in a beautiful natural lit room overlooking the beach, a day spa, a bar with a warm fireplace to enjoy a glass or red or nightcap and a great pool (unfortunately the weather was drizzly during our stay so we were unable to make use of it, however we will be back to do so). It is also located directly opposite the beach, surrounded by some great cafe's and spots to enjoy a cocktail and watch the stunning sunsets over the water. I think Camps Bay is the nicest way to experience Cape Town and I wouldn't stay anywhere else. We can't wait to return to The Bay Hotel :)
This hotel is opposite the most beautiful Campsbay beach, with fantastic restaurants in walking distance on both sides of the hotel. We had Cocktails and drinks on a beautiful terrace overlooking the fantastic Campsbay beach. Amos was our waiter and he did a wonderful job taking care of us.
we stayed here 1 night when we decided to extend our stay in camps bay. while we enjoyed this hotel with particular mention to there excellent breakfast it was probably a little to big for us as we prefer much smaller hotels. we had stayed 5 nights at the nearby Marly Hotel which was for us excellent and anything else that followed had a tough act to follow. we had a good time here for what limited time we had here which was 1 night just to sleep. we did not get a chance to use any of the facilities.
This was an amazing experience. The bar, the restaurant, the pool, the service, the room, the location, the value...everything at this hotel was amazing. Even the bathroom soap was incredible. It exfoliated! They even have a complimentary breakfast. I can't say enough good things about it. The wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend you visit.
Good drinks, tasty food, comfortable terrasses, small pool overlooking the sea... It is probably the place to see and be seen, but for us, it was also the perfect place to rest, relax, smoke a cigar whilst enjoying some well made cocktails or sip some nice local wines.
The Bay Hotel - our worst experience of four SA hotels on this trip - albeit the first three were superb. Mailed to remind us to pay accommodation in full ten days before we arrived ....We were given a room fifty feet from the entrance to their first floor bar and breakfast restaurant so we were woken around 7am each morning despite closing the inner door to the room the addition of which tells us they know about the noise problem. Shower doors didn't fit so bathroom floor flooded when used, we mopped up and turn down service cleared the soggy towels away but didn't replace, we then reported it and a great chap on reception sent someone up who confirmed the doors were faulty. One bathrobe had a tear down one side. And despite charging 6,000 Rand a night there was a 25 Rand charge for two espresso capsules in the room - seriously?!! Service was good overall - Belinda on reception super and sorted out our Hertz return, lovely trainee in the Sandy bar and great team on the car park. Breakfast was OK but nothing outstanding and I've never seen collection boxes on a breakfast table for tips before let alone a note on the box explaining that as breakfast is included in the room rate the waiters don't get to present a bill and get a tip - suggested tip amount also stated. Overall could be so much better if they could just get all the little details right. Not worth the money and wouldn't stay here again. Room advice if offered 351/352/353 say no!
Fun hotel in fun location. Breakfast room overlooking the beach and the ocean, beautiful on a sunny morning. The staff are excellent. It's popular, but offers great walk in rates in winter. Lots to keep you occupied in the surrounding area, and very good spa.
A beautiful place with great food and service. All very reasonably priced. The breakfasts are second to none and set in a great location. A lot of nice artwork and memorabilia. The only problem with this hotel is there's no need to leave it.
