We had a terrible experience with this guesthouse and their management. We called them prior to booking as we wanted a quiet place to stay while we moved house, as we have an infant. They guaranteed over the phone that there was a cottage that we could use that would be perfect. It would be for 2 nights. We made full payment for the stay based on what we were told which we assumed was true. My husband went to pick up the keys the day we were supposed to stay and asked them if he could see the cottage. When MoreBlessing (i think was the person's name who had assured us of a quiet stay) took my husband to the cottage they were building/construction directly across the road. My husband was shocked as we had specifically asked for a quiet room. More Blessing suggested taking him to Sweet Orange as they had a room available there that opened into the breakfast room. Aside from the fact that there must be some health & safety issue with that, it was definitely not quiet. They had nothing else to offer us. We cancelled our stay and asked for a refund as they had not be honest but they refused to assist any further. We asked to speak to the owner and we are still waiting for a response, we also emailed them. This was at the beginning of October 2017. The worst service I've experience, plus so dishonest, a terrible experience which I plan to make known as much as possible. I've worked in travel and also travel personally a lot and this was particularly unpleasant as we were lied to from the outset.
It was an outing for me and my partner to relax and recharge our batteries. The accommodation is top class and staff is very helpful and cheerful. The place is located in a quiet street 20 metres from the vibrant Sea Point Main Road full of top class restaurants and bars. It is very secure. The bedrooms are spacious, have rustic furniture and top quality beds and linen. We enjoyed a meal at Mykonos, a Greek restaurant 20 metres from the guesthouse. Thereafter we chilled by the poolside enjoying some drinks. We will definitely go back!
We stayed here on our very first day in Cape town as part of a 3 week tour of Africa, and very welcome it was too after a lengthy flight. The guesthouse has a lovely warm and welcoming feel, very much like someone's home. The rooms were perfect, very spacious and equipped with everything we needed and more, including a UK socket. Staff were delightful and went over and above to make our stay comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and any special diets could easily be catered for. Sweet Orange guesthouse started our holiday off in the best way I could have imagines and I would most certainly return.
Convenient location in Cape Town. Very lovely and helpful staff. Great breakfast! Room and bathroom was clean, and full of character as it's an older style building. Many places to relax outside within the premises, outdoor pool area, porch and garden out the front and a very safe place to stay. Great value for money.
This was my 2nd stay with the Sweetest Guesthouses in Cape Town, and it was great again! Very nice room style, friendly staff and an overwhelming breakfast in the garden. The pool is not that big but for a quick refresh perfect. The guesthouse is just a short walk away from the main road in Sea Point. The wifi charge could be included into the room rate. But I will def. come again.
It was my birthday. We wanted a place close to the viby Sea Point Main Road. We searched for romantic restaurants nearby and we were presented with many within walking distance. We settled for Mykonos, 50 metres from Sweet Orange. We had great dinner. Sweet Orange itself is quite and romantic. The rooms are spacious, rustic and equipped with antique furniture. The staff are welcoming and friendly.
One of several guest houses jointly operated in this area of Cape Town. The breakfast was good and the bed comfortable. No amenities but reasonable security. Waking distance to several good eating establishments. There a small Pick/Pay shops in the area for groceries or beverages.,
Lovely guesthouse with very friendly and courteouse staff. Thanks to Vaina Shyleen for having a great time in Cape Town! We enjoyed our stay in this little but beautiful guesthouse. Thanks for everything :)
The closed and curtain in the room should be removed and replaced by white coloured furniture. The room looked very dark and is outdated! Also, to have to pay for WIFI is very guest unfriendly, and should be available at no charge.
We arrive very late and they took care of us. The original property was full and they sent us to another property. The bedroom was very nice, with big bed and full bath. Next morning we had a fine breakfast and get to know Evelyn and Tatenda, a great couple that make us feel really good
