Stopped here for 4 nights whilst touring. Dennis was absolutely amazing, so helpful in finding restaurants, advising places to visit etc. All the staff were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is slightly hidden away but a perfect location. Make sure you use the Uber cabs, but Dennis will give you plenty of help. Daisy was the perfect hostess.

I cannot overstate how lovely my stay at Dysart was. Central location but hidden away just enough to be out of the hustle and bustle of the city. Wonderfully styled rooms and common areas full of life and art. Delicious breakfast and light lunch items available. The staff, especially Denis, are so wonderful and helpful. Book now, thank me later, and say hi to Daisy lounging by the pool!

We enjoyed a 3 night stay at this beautiful hotel whilst in Cape Town. It's location was fantastic but had an air of calm about it that made you feel like you were away from the hustle and bustle. The staff were extremely warm and welcoming and couldn't do enough for us, they were all incredibly friendly and helpful - and we particularly enjoyed the complimentary glass of wine on our arrival. The whole experience at the Dysart was wonderful and we couldn't recommend the experience more highly. Particular thanks to Denis and Daisy for their advice, warmth and great conversation - they certainly made the start to our South African adventure all the more special. THANK YOU! Naomi & Victoria xx

We had a fantastic stay at the Dysart. We had a great room on the second floor overlooking the pool and some oceanview. The room was very well appointed. What made the stay so outstanding was the hotel staff. Everyone was so friendly and anxious to help in anyway. We would definitely come back in a second. If you are in Cape town this is the place to stay. You are only minutes away by Uber to all the sites.

The hotel was nice and the staff very friendly. Two issues of concern. One I never managed to get a hot shower and secondly we were told the bottle of wine was complimentary. When we checked out we were being asked to pay for the wine. We explained we were told it was complimentary but the owner refused to l isten and insisted we pay. So we paid as we didn't want to cause an issue with the staff but hence my first Trip Advisor review. It just left a bitter taste at the end of a great time in Cape Town.

The Dysarts is a quirky little boutique hotel in a nice area a bit away from the very touristy waterfront. Restaurants and grocery stores within easy walking distance. The staff without exception were friendly and helpful making you feel right at home. Breakfast was excellent. Rooms were clean and comfortable, ours had a private little sitting area. Not to be forgotten is the sweet little hotel cat named Daisy. We very much enjoyed our four night stay.

First time in SA and needed a place to stay for the first night. This was great and we will both recommend and return. Staff is great and sooo helpful and personal in a great way. The rooms are designed, small but exquisite, and bathrooms very spacious. They lack restaurant but have a nice terracom and pool menu, so you have a terrific base camp.

We stayed at the Dysart at the end of a touring trip to South Africa. Having stayed on or around the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town on a number of occasions, we thought this place in Green Point would be a bit different and allow us to see a bit more of the city. We had booked room 1, on the ground floor, adjacent to the pool, as it was the last room available for the days we needed. We noted from the photo that it seemed there were sunbeds almost immediately outside our doors and queried whether there had been any complaints of noise. we were told there had not been and, in the event, we probably had more noise from guests opening and closing their doors and talking in the (fairly stark) corridors than we did from the pool area. However, the hotel's website says that we have private exit to the pool area/ Well, if private exit is sliding open your 'patio' doors to be greeted by 4 enormous yucca plants in pots, placed there to screen us, in part, from the glare of the sunworshippers around the pool, then I suppose the description is right! Private exit and public entrance is more suitable a term. The website, in summary, also says that all rooms have Nespresso machines - they do not. Some, as was the case for us, have kettles with tea and coffee-making facilities. Maybe not a big difference, but a difference nevertheless. Room 1 also appears to suffer from having three air conditioning compressors attached to the wall immediately outside of its bathroom window. If ours was off and the window was open, the noise from others' AC units was quite intrusive at times. The staff at the Dysart are lovely and breakfast is nicely presented in a relatively small dining area. Outside space is partially shaded, but this wasn't enough in the temperatures we experienced during our stay. As the inside of the dining area is not air-conditioned, it makes for a very warm breakfast experience on occasions. The pool was lovely and, given the hotel is shielded by the high ground behind from any breeze, the pool was the only place to cool off from mid-morning to late afternoon. We found it necessary to get out of the hotel and walk along the prom, whether to Sea Point, through the lovely park, or to the V&A Waterfront, past the football stadium. The sea breezes have an influence from not too far down either walk. Apart from the descriptions mentioned, there isn't much wrong with this place but there are better located places and these may be more appropriate for travellers who have limited walking ability (although of course taxis, assuming they are Uber, are cheap and plentiful).

As locals from Johannesburg we pop into Cape Town often and stay in different places. This might be our best find as of yet. Warm, friendly, brilliantly located and greatly appointed. So glad we found DySArt we will be back. Hopefully soon!

Such a beautiful hotel in a great location, it’s amazing to think you are in a city when it is so quiet at night. Secure parking with 24 hour security. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. The bottle of champagne in the fridge for our honeymoon was a very nice touch, thank you! Special mention to Denis and Joseph who were forever smiling and so chatty - it is reasons like this that I don’t always book large hotel chains, the personal experience at DysArt was fantastic. The breakfast was superb, great selection and they will cook eggs etc to order. You can relax in the evening and have a drink by the pool. We will hopefully return in the near future!
