This hotel was absolutely amazing. Having a very deep interest and former Chairman of the Historic Preservation Commission in Georgia, I was impressed with how much of the original decor had been preserved. If I could modify one thing it would be the bed - it was much to firm for me. Perhaps offering rooms with aofter mattresses for those of us who prefer them soft would be a great feature. The restaurant was fantastic - great atmosphere and food.

Everything was outstanding, the only drawback was the outdoor pool, which only opens for the summer season..

My first time visiting the area and I noticed most places are either motels or bed and breakfasts. I arrived late and they were able to check me in over the phone before hand. Also, plenty of parking for a place literally right next to the beach. Has an old timely feel to it, and very nice aesthetics. No problems that I could tell.

Congress Hall was amazing. The rooms were clean and beautiful. They were large and comfortable. The lobby was decorated for Christmas and the whole hotel looked as regal as it must have been 100 years ago. We felt honored to be there.

This old and charming hotel is truly beautiful but it needs sound proofing very badly! The rooms are extremely noisy. We were placed in a room with a lovely view of the sea. The room was connected through an internal door to another room. The insulation was so poor that you could hear every single noise through the door. The occupants of the room arrived late and we could not sleep for the whole time they kept talking. Mind there were just talking and laughing but we could here every single word.... The second night we asked for another room and this time it was better...There was no internal connecting door and the room next to ours was vacant. I guess we were fortunate it was April and the hotel was not very busy. They must sound-proof the internal doors..it will help... The restaurant in the hotel (The Blue Pig) is wonderful. We had breakfast and lunch and was truly an enjoyable culinary experience with excellent service.

We checked in a bit before official check in time, and because we were there for a wedding, really hoped for our room to be available so we could get ready. We only had to wait about 15 minutes. The room was really nice, big bathroom. Perfect location, as the wedding was in the same hotel. Bed was really comfortable, we had a king. Overall very nice.

Always a great time at Congress Hall. We came for the Halloween Ball and had a blast! Going to the Beach Plum Farm was an added bonus. Just come here! You won't regret it!

Beautiful hotel with great Cape May charm. My husband and I were married there and enjoyed every moment of our stay.

I booked my stay here as a surprise little getwaway birthday present for my husband. It was perfect because they have a resaurant and spa right there and very close to the beach! I got him an hour massage which he loved and I got my nails done while I waited. We parked our car and were able to do everything by foot or bike ride.

The hotel was more than expected, but due to NO HEAT and the weather below freezing it was very difficult to be comfortable in either the rooms, spa, lounge or restaurant. I realize the transformer replacement was more of an inconvenience than the hotel thought it would be. Would have been very nice for the hotel to comp a service or meal for the frigid temp inside the hotel.

Just an overnight but the room was comfortable, great location in front of the beach, nice view (oceanfront room). For the price, should include breakfast, even if basic option. Food at the Blue Pig was delicious!

Beautiful seaside resort with an aristocratic aura. Staff couldn't have been nicer, lots of history with a "Grand Hotel" feel. Guest were like old friends relaxing in there living room. Worth the trip.

This is my second time at Congress Hall and I look forward to going again. This is a great facility for a number of reasons - it has old world charm with modern conveniences. We sat in the rocking chairs overlooking the lawn and the ocean and enjoyed a cocktail from the bar. It is a grand building with sweeping stairs that you can picture guests in the early 1900's gathering for the evening meal. The location is perfect - within walking distance of many restaurants, shops and the beach. We took a long walk up the beach to the lighthouse and state park where many migratory birds are seen. The food at the Blue Big Tavern was very tasty - I had fantastic caramelized scallops and a fresh salad made from ingredients at the local farm. My only complaint was the stains on the carpet in the bedroom and the mattress was sagging in the middle. The staff are pleasant and helpful and the management has succeeded in creating a relaxing and unique atmosphere.

Just stayed overnight, but well worth it. Every aspect felt charming and welcoming, even at the lower end of this beautiful hotel's potential accommodations. You're adjacent to the beach on one side and the beautiful Cape May's town center on the other. Very relaxing.

We had a great time at the Congress. The rocking chairs are the best place for morning coffee, relaxing, and before dinner drinks! The valet parking is very convenient and fast too. Our queen room was very small, but the two window seats made up for the size. We will definitely return here.

Hotel staff did a fantastic job making a memorable experience for all involved.

Quite festive and beautifully decorated for the holiday. The Blue Pig restaurant was amazing and the room was great though we had a handicapped room, shower only, so water traveled onto middle of bath. great location, most shops were still open and in true form, what makes Cape May always a special experience. We have found our winter holiday get away for next year.

The positives were the staff, location, and overall hotel feel. The room was AWFUL given the price point. They hotel is old and historic but the rooms are in desparate need of upgrades to be considered a 4 star property. At best this is a 3 star and even that might be a stretch.

this hotel was gorgeous and I had a very relaxing stay. everything was clean and in good shape. i could easily walk to many shops and restaurants, or sit around at the hotel's pool or on the beach

Just one complaint, and that would be the shower - for the amount of money paid, one would expect a decent shower after coming up from the beach. Otherwise, it was a lovely weekend
