Really happy with the location. Such a quaint place and lots of history. So glad they had AC. Room was a bit small but comfortable.
Beautiful old building. Lots of charm and close to everything. We had a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
The hotel definitely has character and charm. With Covid and it being October I'll cut them a little slack on some of the little things. Overall a pleasant stay. My only warning would be to make sure you understand the definition of the room you book. We found out the meaning of a "Euro room".
The Chalfonte is a sweet old lady. Like staying in a living part of history. As such, she isn't quite up to modern expectations, so take note. On the 3rd floor, our (small) room with a nice new shower the AC couldn't keep up with the 90 degree heat. No elevator, or breakfast - not even enough hot water for tea most days. But they are doing a good job with COVID and it's a lively place at night. Free beach umbrella's and chairs!
charming and clean hotel . Very friendly staff. Dinner at the Restaurant attached to the hotel was Delicious .
Nice historic property. If you're going to be spending all day on the beach, this is a nice place to just crash at night. The A/c barely works (especially at night); sink in the room may be off putting for some (we knew there was one in the room going in). Breakfast was just okay (go to Mcglade's on the pier instead). Seemed like there was some lovely live music playing in the evening and the porch when it was cooler looked like a fun place to hang as well.
