I had not seen a friend from high school in 33 years. I rented the Penthouse suite so we would have privacy with two separate bedrooms and baths. I did not know that you had to climb outside about 20 concrete stairs to your front door and then to the first floor where the first bedroom is and the kitchen and living room you had to climb at least 14 stairs to get there. Thankfully she took the top bedroom and had to walk another 14 stairs to get to her bedroom! That was the only down fall at Royal Mansion. Great view and Great time.
Uncomfortable beds, not clean just not worth the money
Just don't do it. There are plenty of other places on the beach and this one is way to expensive for the room you don't get
We stayed at the penthouse right after Christmas. We were party of 5, enough space for everyone, but I wish the size of bed was Queen, not double. Otherwise it was very comfortable setting, two full baths, kitchen.
We love it so much at the Royal Mansions Resort! We have stayed here twice because of the location, price, and comfort of extra space compared to a hotel room. We can easily take our whole family. The hotel staff is friendly and free breakfast is a plus. We love to take a night and cook out on the grills provided or ride our bikes 3 miles into town. It is a great value for the money!
Resort could use more area around pool and more patio furniture to accommodate the amount of rooms that sleep six. Kitchen complete and bed average. We did not use the fold down or sofa bed so no comment on them.
Right on the beach, friendly staff, and close to everything. Our stay was wonderful and we had NO problems. But the facility is tired and needs some fixing up in some units. Ours showed wear, but other guests confirmed there are bigger problems with some units. My advice is to get a promise to move you if you are unlucky and get a problem condo unit.
Upon arrival our reservation had been inaccurately cancelled. The unit we were eventually assisgned had no electricity & the staff was unaccommodating at best. The second 'upgraded' unit we were given after hours of chaos was full of water damage and mildew. A romantic getaway we will not soon forget. Strongly suggest other plans.
We came for the May 11th 2009 shuttle launch. The Royal Mansion location was great (the reason for the two stars) but the accommodations were not the best. We were assured that there were 3 beds but the pull-out couch was in such poor condition that we could not use it. Because of this my son and I (his mother) had to share a bed. The room was also not very clean. The floors were quite dirty. We were also surprised that they did not provide any toiletries with the exception of a small bar of soap. Since it is so hard to bring liquids when flying, that would certainly have been nice. I can't remember the last time I stayed at a hotel that didn't provide at least minimal items – maybe in the 1980's? I would also have thought they would have provided some dish soap for washing dishes (since there was a kitchen in our suite). We had to run out and purchase some. I guess the alternative would have been to leave a sink full of dirty dishes and attract bugs. I would think they would want to enable their guest to keep things clean. They also only provided us 2 bath towels even though there were 4 of us and the room accommodates six – and only 3 pillows. We had to go to the front desk and wait quite a while as they sent the security guard to get us what should have been in the room in the first place. The breakfast was extremely poor. The two toasters barely worked and only made the bagels and (preformed) waffles lukewarm. They set out 3 apples in the morning for the entire group. We saw that people had purchased their own fruit and brought it in. After a couple of days we ended up going out for breakfast. All in all the staff was pleasant but not very competent. We asked for a wake-up call on two different mornings. After not receiving the wake-up call the first morning we let them know and stressed that we REALLY needed to get our wake-up call the next morning at 3:30 am in order to catch our return flight. They gave my 80 year-old father a photocopy of how-to-do-it-yourself (even through it can be set by them as well). I had tried to do that the first night and then from the photocopy the second night but that option was not working on our phone. They assured us that they would set it from the office. Well – they didn't. Luckily we figured out how to set an alarm on our cell phone. We saw the launch, were right on the beach and had a wonderful time despite the accommodations. We certainly would not stay there again.
