The hotel is nicely designed and well located. Rooms are modern and spacious. The wine bar has now closed and the hotel does not have a license so there is no where to relax other than your room. However they still advertise in room 5% off for guests in the wine bar. We were given just one, flat and stained pillow each. We asked for more but the hotel had none as it was full. (What hotel has no spare pillows) They gave us a thin towel for support! Mattress was uncomfortable. One receptionist could not be bothered to remove her earphones while talking to us, others were ok. Breakfast is overpriced for the quality. All hot food had gone 30 mins before the end of breakfast and was not replaced. Staff came in 15 minutes before the end and emptied the orange juice into a large glass for themselves. A guest asked for some and was refused. I get the impression this is a nicely designed hotel but badly run. I will not return.
Stayed for two nights with my wife. Excellent central location. Nice modern reasonable size room. A little bit of noise during the night but nothing to cause a problem. Staff were very firelndy and helpful and all spoke perfect English. Great place to stay for the price and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
Clean and quiet place. Close to Lausanne cathedral, well located. Service is very good. Enjoy your stay in Lausanne! Propre et tranquille. Près de la Cathédrale de Lausanne, bien situé. Profitez de votre séjour à Lausanne.
Stayed as part of a musical tour of Switzerland and Germany during October and for it's central position was impressed at the price, level of noise and cleanliness of the rooms. Had a very good breakfast with incredible views. Would have no hesitation in returning.
This hotel is very nice, cosy and on a perfect location in the old city of Lausanne. The food is really delicious, there is also a wine bar. The staff were very nice and happy to help at any time of the day.
Located a bit uptown, the hotel provides everything you need for a few nights when in town for business. Far more personal and cozy than the bigger hotels in town, and also more modern. Bonus is their Swiss wine shop in the lobby, that makes working nights an easy task. Comfy bed. I would prefer a proper shower rather than a tiny tub. Good breakfast.
Business or leisure I always look for a good and cosy place to go and stay and that was what I found on the Swiss Wine hotel. Great wine related decoration, comfortable rooms and good breakfast. I totally recommend and I'll always try to stay there next times I visit Lausanne. The location of the hotel might seem not very convenient but it is, you have the cathedral a few steps away and a lot of bars and restaurants nearby where you can enjoy good food or just go out for a drink. The metro is literally in front of the hotel and it will take you to some main places in Lausanne is just a couple of minutes. If you are lucky you might have a room facing the cathedral where you'll have an amazing view but either way you'll have it every morning for breakfast on their amazing breakfast terrace. Enjoy your stay there that I sure did :)
This hotel probably has some nice rooms but my experience was not good. To get to the room, take the elevator to the top floor, then drag your luggage up a flight of stairs to a room crammed under the roof. No windows but one skylight. No chair, only a stool. Bed was OK but I was there on a Saturday night and the noise from people partying was loud and lasted until 05:00. Breakfast was OK. Metro access is right next to the hotel, so easy to get to the lake or the train station.
The Hotel is in the middle of Lausanne, walking distance to the pedestrian zone Its quite complicated to reach it by car. In front of the Hotel is some short time parking space available, but always busy because of the construction work nearby. The room, direct under the roof, was really nice with a new bathroom. Unfortunately, and that's why only 3 stars recommandation, it was quite noisy. The AC was soooo loud, there was no chance to sleep with it on. Open the windows does not change anything, a lot of noise from outside will impede a good rest. I would suggest to refurbish the AC and everyone is happy, at least for the summer time. The staff was friendly, but can improve! Unfortunately the house keeping uses the same elevator as the guest, so in the morning the elevator is always busy.
Right in the heart of Lausanne...steps from the Metro. I believe the stop is Bessieres- if you are arriving by train. We stayed for 5 nights/2 rooms/2 adults/3 teens. Our room had a refrigerator and the kids' room had a sink (in addition to the one in the bathroom) and a small range. Rooms were big enough and we had a nice view of the Cathedral. Be warned there is no air conditioning. It was warm when we visited so the windows stayed open. It would have been nice if the ceiling fan in the room was more powerful as not a lot of air came through the room. There was a city festival going on right outside our window with food vendors and bands (really fun), but it did get loud, especially with the windows needing to stay open. We passed on the breakfast- too expensive for 5 people. There is a Coop market across the street where we picked up food, which worked out great. The front desk staff was nice and spoke English. I would stay here again just for the location.
