We love that hotel because employees take care of you. You get what you need fast. Very well situated for shopping, Bell Centrer and restaurants. Food is good. We had a suite. There were 2 cool tvs, great little kitchenette, lots of coffee cups ans huge bathroom. Valet service for garage. They get your car fast. It’s not the most recent hotel but we loved it.
In most of european countries, this would be a 2 stars hotel, but in Switzerland 3 stars hotels are like this Excellent location in the heart of the old city, and close to several popular restaurants Friendly and efficient reception staff Very basic room. A rather hard bed, a flat tv with a large number of channels, a very small safety box, few sockets, an empty fridge, no air conditioned, some fans available at the corridor. A small bathroom without shampoo with a small shower. Tired furniture My window had no view, but a dark wall in front, but at least was quiet Free WiFi worked well Included breakfast is served as from 7 am (a bit late for business travellers in Lausanne, I would say) was poor, in terms of both quality and variety. No ham, croissants were hard, other pastries even worse.... The coffee was good but they took 15 minutes to bring it The hotel does not have parking facilities, but a public carpark is 3 minutes walking The reception is closed as from 11 pm Soft drinks, beer and snacks were available from a machine at the lobby Lausanne hotels are very expensive and this is not an exception. Prices have big variations. If a rate close to 150 sfr is available, choosing this hotel can make sense, however some days the room rate is over 300, which is a really bad value for money I will choose another hotel when back to Lausanne
The hotel is located in the city center, very close to the metro station and the cathedral as well as many shops and restaurants. The rooms are relatively small and either face to a walking street or towards another building (quieter). They have a good breakfast buffet and the views from the terrace resp. roof top is fabolous. The employees are extremely friendly and helpful. I felt very comfortable during my 3-day stay at the Hotel Crystal. Merci beaucoup!
Staying at the Hotel Crystal for a day and night last year we knew that comming back to Lausanne ment comming back there as well. When we came back this year with a 6 days stay we were in no way disapointed. Again we were welcomed by the same positive atmosphere as last year. Whether we spend the day at the hotel relaxing in the room or the balcony with the view over the old city, the Lake Geneva with the Alpes in the background or sightseeing we enjoyed any spend at the Hotel Chrystal. Everyday began with breakfast greated by smiles and good energy by Eva and the Girls, cofee and warm milk and just what else we neeted to start the day. The rooms where nice and clean, and even the service staff greeted us with smiles whenever we met them in the hall doing they job. Helpfull management. We tried to order tickets for a cruise on the Lake ourselves but feeling a bit lost the kind an friendly manager (so sorry i never got his name), made it happen for us. All in all, we got everything we payed for and so much more. And if you value exelent service and a friendly enviroment, rooms in good and clean shape Hotel Crystal is the place to stay for a citytrip to Lausanne or as the startingpoint and a base for trips aound the Lake Geneva and Geneva itself.
I stayed for only one evening on a business trip and chose the hotel for it's location which was perfect. Like many of the hotels in the region at this level it is an older building that was not purposely built as an hotel. The entrance is not chic, and to be perfectly honest is a little bit dark and uninviting.. I have read many of the negative comments which seem a little but unfair but I can definitely understand them. Comments are always relative... My room was clean, although a little bit cramped but there was an excellent terrace... which easily makes up for the lack of space.. The bed was comfortable and clean, I am a heavy sleeper so I can't comment on the noise.. I slept well.. Breakfast was good, even though the dining area is a little strange, there are several small rooms with tables rather than just one large dining area.. I was fortunate to have had a place on the terrace though which has an excellent view over the city and the mountains.. I would go back for a short, 1 or 2 business trip without any problem, but I don't pay the bill which I feel was expensive in relation to the quality..
The hotel is quite basic with older furnishings and amenities. There is no air conditioning, so a high floor on a hot day is uncomfortable. The shower is tiny with a wrap-around shower curtain. There is no fitness center in the hotel. However, the location is wonderful near shopping, restaurants, the waterfront, a metro stop, and interesting buildings. The breakfast is included with the room and is also quite good with many fresh offerings.
Nice room with everything you need. It is not luxurious but offers the necessary comfort. The terrace on the breakfast is very cozy and offers a nice view over the rooftops of the city. All in all, a good hotel for a short city trip or for an overnight stay on the transit.
Title is related to quality/price ratio which is not satisfying. Room 69 is big and clean, bathroom being too small. Do not be surprised that for late arrival security is through electronic communication.
Crystal is a wonderful hotel located in the center of Lausanne. I didn't really know what to expect, I simply needed a centrally located place in Lausanne for a weekend getaway. And I wasn't disappointed. First of all - fantastic, helpful, multilingual and (I can't stress this enough!) friendly staff. Breakfast on a balcony overlooking the old town! My room had a balcony as well. Make sure you ask for rooms on the 5th floor when booking your room. Parking costs 20chf and is located 300m from the hotel, but first of all it is in the center of the city and secondly - they offer you a complimentary public transport card for the duration of your stay. You won't have to use your car as long as you stay within Lausanne city limits.
The Crystal isn't a Hyatt Regency but it is a very nice small hotel in the center of Lausanne. It is close to a Metro station and a main bus line stop The staff are very accommodating. The women, especially Fannie, at the front desk are very helpful and have very good English skills. Having read other reviews about noisy rooms, I choose a quiet room rather than one with a view. This was a wise move. Room 27 was very quiet. If you want a view, you can go to the terrace on the 5th floor for a great view of the city. The room had a very comfortable queen bed. The room was nicely appointed and even had a refrigerator for your personal use. The bathroom was typical of most European ones - on the small side but had sufficient room. Shower is a little small but workable. WIFI was very good in the room. TV had a huge selection of channels although most were in French or German as would be expected. About the only negative would be the carpets in the hallway and landings could use a good cleaning. Breakfast was included and was just OK - could have done with a cold cut selection. I will be back in Lausanne in the near future and will stay there again.
