Sign in bathroom read "Do not flush toilet paper in toilet." Glass sliding doors had one flimsy lock on them. Pool was cute and staff was friendly, but we did not stay. This was too primitive for us. We walked down the street and booked an all-inclusive hotel and LOVED IT!

The location is great. Just a few steps to many restaurants and shops. Short walk to beach. The room was very simple. Air conditioner worked well.

A little difficult to find but is in a great location, staff very friendly and smell clean, had to ask for a blanket and pillows, ac sloooowly cool down the room

Even though it was on the same Street as bars and restaurants we were not disturbed by the noise. It was a good central position. Let down by the fridge not working and the toilet not flushing as it should. Smelt a bit of damp but they all do at this time of year in Mexico especially on the islands.

Very clean and friendly hotel. It is highly recommended. Guests keep coming back every year and staying one to two weeks. Staff is there 24/7. Kid freindly. Nice pool.

For the price we paid the location was Super! The staff was also Super and did whatever they could to make us comfortable and serve our needs. Hotel is located on main street but is buffered from the noise, so once in your room its quiet and relaxing. What I would improve on: Beds- the beds are hard and uncomfortable. We padded ours with 2 blankets we found in the closet and the staff was helpful with this but the management needs to invest in new mattresses. There was no bottled water there so you have to run across the street to the mini super and buy a jug of water, but that was fine. Room has a mini fridge and a microwave. Hotel provides beach towels at no charge and the wifi worked great!

I can see where this place would be a madhouse during season but off-season it was perfect. During the Mexican Independence day the hotel staff families and kids all came and used the pool so it was noisy. This is why I say it could be not so nice during season when it's full. We were about half full and that was perfect and quiet. On the main street but they close the doors and when you are by the pool or in your room you cannot hear any noise. The internet works most of the time. There is a nice refrig. microwave and some dishes in the room. Rooms are good sized. You have to buy your own water and bring it in but there is a mini super right across the street and your are only a few blocks from the grocery on the square. Friendly, honest tour guide salesman by the front door. he does not hassle you and he is honest Patrick is his name- I would buy excursions from him.

This is a great little budget hotel on the pedestrian only Hidalgo Ave. A short walk to North Beach and restaurants literally outside the lobby. Nice to have a coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator and some dinnerware. Also has a pool and lounge chairs. Each room has either a patio or balcony.

Our room was very satisfactory. We had a room upstairs (Hildago) It did get pretty loud late at night. But we still enjoyed the room.

Very clean, safe place to stay. Rooms were huge, but basic. Mini kitchen was a real plus. Staff was lovely. Set up around a courtyard with palms, grass and a pool. Nice mix of Mexican and international guests. Located on main street of Centro, so close to many restaurants and other businesses as well as the ferry to Cancun, but you'd never know it from the noise level once inside. This is not a "honeymoon" destination, but a quite adequate, good deal for the money place to lay your head.

This is a hotel close, close to the night life of Isle Mujerus. It is clean, comfortable and the staff was nice. Nothing really fancy but a great place to spend a few nights.

It's a pretty good hotel with pool and excellent wifi in the carter of town. Great value for the price.

Very clean rooms, nice swimming pool and interior courtyard for an evening cool down. In the midst of all the action, could hear street music till about 11 pm'ish, but could sleep fine, quiet otherwise. My room was very spacious, had all basic comforts, but chairs hard, more comfort there would have been nice. Staff is correct not overly warm nor able to give much info. Avoid during holidays like Easter, Xmas, full with local families, can get noisy. Otherwise a good place.

At first I thought this was not going to be the greatest of hotels. I soon changed my mind as this proved to be very good for my needs. The staff was courteous and the housekeeping staff kept the room clean. This is a no frills hotel but really there is very little reason to spend great amounts of time inside when visiting Isla Mujeres! Most of my time was spent with water sports like the Whale Sharks trip and scuba diving. The rest of my time was spent going to the many great restaurants on the strip just outside the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone with similar needs.

Our 2nd stay at Hotel Plaza Almendros. Polo and Ana were so friendly and helpful when we got a water leak in our room because of a tropical depression and moved us promptly to another room. Everything was perfect for us including maid service. Husband and I will be staying here on our next trip to paradise. Clean, comfortable and quiet with fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee pot with a large balcony where we had breakfast and some lunches also a clean pool and the price was very good.. Located on Hidalgo with restaurants right outside the hotel entrance, great for dinners. Can't wait to go back . Big money saver!!!

This little hotel had a great location on the main avenue. And the hotel was a short walk to Playa Norte beach. Couple of minor problems for a light sleeper (noisy central air unit) were satisfactorily resolved by the staff. Other little requests were taken care of quickly by the staff. This inexpensive hotel was a good value.

We enjoyed this hotel. It is perfectly situated for the beach or eating or shopping. The staff was very helpful for calling to arrange our pickup at the ferry to the airport. We did have a little problem when we first got there with the room, wanted to stick us in a room with 1 window overlooking a tarp blocking the water tank. After a little discussion they did put us in a room looking at the pool very nice. Will probaly book there next year!

This was just a wonderful relaxed Birthday trip with my DH. Very clean room at a great location and all the comforts of home.Comfortable bed, a safe in the room and large closet for your clothes. Toaster, coffeemaker, microwave, fridge, plates, cups, glasses, knifes forks and spoons Ate breakfast on the balcony each of the 7 days we were there and some lunches. Maid did a great job of cleaning and making towel animals everyday. Also a nice clean pool and plently of lounge chairs plus beach towels. Been to Isla Mujeres many times and we found a great hotel. We will be coming back to Plaza Almendros!

We stayed here with a group of people in three different rooms for a week. All the rooms are basic but very clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. If you like being right in the middle of the restaurants and bars this is a good inexpensive location to stay and was surprisingly quiet. The bed was the typical hard bed found in most hotels in the area but the maid put a blanket under the small mattress pad which helped considerably. The staff made us feel like family and told us to come back and consider their hotel our home, which we did.Great value for the money.

Sewer gas coming up from all the drains 24/7 ... Asked for a quiet room on the internet when purchased and at check-in and I get a room next to a mechanical/pump room ! Not even remotely quiet ! Did they do this on purpose or are they really that stupid !? All sheets and towels have brown, yellow stains on them ... Hot water runs out very quickly ...... No pressure .... There are better, just as cheap places to stay ............
