"This hotel was okay/nice. I figured our room, which was way out in the #4 building was because we had our dog (11 lb. maltipoo), but while at the pool, I noticed a woman come out the back patio of her "pool view" room and she had a dog, so I'm not sure if the pet owner guests were relegated to the back side of the building or maybe it just cost more to stay in a 'pool view room'; I booked through "Hotels.com", so I didn't really investigate. The room was clean, beds were okay. Not having a refrigerator would likely be a stay-again deal breaker for us. We managed with an ice chest we had brought, but super inconvenient. I get it is a casino hotel (even though not the actual casino hotel) and they don't want you to get too comfortable in your room, but a refrigerator these days should be standard in a room. Shower was good. No issues with that. Super low-to-the-floor toilet which proved to be semi challenging. We are seniors with somewhat restricted range of motion. The shuttle drivers from the Lodge to the Cliff Casino were super nice and quick to respond. You cannot walk from The Lodge to the Cliff Castle Casino. You either drive yourself, or you call for a shuttle. Overall, fairly good. We went with our 8 year old grandson to see Out of Africa which is very close (12 minutes) from The Lodge. Would I stay there again...probably not. Their positives are they are dog friendly and the rooms were ok/nice. Nice Staff."
