Myself and my partner booked this hotel for June for a quiet break before the kids broke up for summer........ Unfortunately this hotel was completely packed with them. I'm not saying that children don't deserve a holiday but when you book a holiday before schools break up you don't expect so many. Nevertheless the hotel is nice. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The food is very nice and the all inclusive is extensive. I would recommend the hotel supply more dustbins around the pool area to encourage dirty tourists to pick up their own rubbish. I have never seen so much rubbish left behind by people. I even saw a couple of babies dirty nappies left behind by people too lazy to walk to the bin. These people give us British tourists a bad name!! Also you will need to set an alarm to get a sun lounger by the pool (if you're sad enough that is). The pool opened at 8.30 so people would go and save a place in the queue by laying their towels in order by the door to get a lounger. We usually managed to get a lounger by 4 pm. Quite a few people also saved loungers with the hotel towels whilst they went to the beach for the day, meaning the loungers couldn't be used! Then they would stroll back at approximately 4/5ish to get the last of the sun. I think the hotel should put a stop to this sort of behaviour so that everyone gets a chance to sit by the pool. Also not much space for the loungers. They were very cramped together. Staff nice and helpful and very hard working especially those who work around the pool cleaning. Wouldn't recommend this hotel for couples but absolutely perfect for families.
We have just arrived back from a 1 week stay with 2 kids age 4 & 7 and we had a fantastic time. The rooms are a too small for a family of 4 but managed to upgrade to a much bigger room. Cleaning was basic but no different to any other hotel we've stayed in and towels were changed daily as long as you left the dirty ones in the bath as requested on the notice in the bathroom. A fridge was in the room at no extra cost which was an added bonus. We were expecting the food to be pretty poor after reading earlier reviews but we were pleasantly surprised, it was lovely, different choices every day and really tasty....too good judging by our expanded waistlines. We only used the snack bar once but there was sufficient choice there too if you didn't want to go to the dining room. We are beer and wine drinkers so we were happy in that department and there was plenty of choice for the kids, fizzy drinks, water milkshake along with ice lollies and ice cream. All 3 Pools were fantastic for the kids. Always managed to get sun beds although it can get a bit frenzied with the morning rush when the doors open. Our 7 year old football mad Son loved the mini football pitch where all the kids joined in together. Didn't use the kids club but there seemed plenty going on through the day, night entertainment was ok but we didn't stay around the hotel every night. Lastly but much deserving of a mention, the reception staff, the nicest most friendly ever, especially one gentleman but didn't manage to get his name, nothing was too much trouble and his mood never changed even through a 3 hour power cut which hit the whole of Palma nova when guests started getting irritated (probably because they couldn't get their all inclusive alcohol although the bar staff were doing their best to serve what they could). We would stay again as long as we could guarantee the larger room.
I visited this hotel along with 16 other women to celebrate 2 birthdays. We were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff, check in was easy and quick and our rooms were all ready for us. There was 3 of us in our room which made it quite cramped, even though there was 3 of us there was only 2 cups and 2 chairs on the veranda. The beds were clean and comfy, the room was clean and tidy but small, and lacked plug points. The bathroom was very tired but clean. The pool area was very tight, sun beds so close together, not giving any personal space, some of the beds had seen better days. The outdoor bar was good, all the staff were very pleasant and helpful. FOOD! This was very average and the snack bar was more appealing than the restaurant! Definitely not a high standard of food, I'm glad we only had it to choose from for 3 days. We actually went out for lunch on one of those days. There was also a power cut for around 3 hours and the staff did their very best to accommodate every one, this wasn't the hotels fault as it was the same throughout the area. All in all we had a pleasant stay, it served its purpose. The staff are the hotels shining light.
Just returned from a 7 night all inc family holiday and it was great. The hotel is top class 4 star the full hotel is spotless. Drinks served from 10am till midnight with all the usual drinks ice cream lollies etc the snack bar is nice with burgers hotdogs pasta roasted chicken fish fingers salad good selection. The restaurant is slightly different to most all inc with the food being cooked in front of your eyes . Dishes included chicken steak pork veal lovely food. The rooms were really nice top tip get 2 key cards and leave one in to keep air con on all day. rooms cleaned at request by hanging card on door. The 3 pools have the sun all day with plenty of loungers. Only down side is the really steep bank outside to get down to maga or palma nova i think it would be a problem for wheel chairs. Great kids clubs aswell.
We have recently returned from a weeks holiday here, our 1st time in this hotel but 3td time on Palma Nova. We absolutely loved it.my 5 yr old cried as she didn't want to go home! The location is perfect, a 5 mins walk to palma nova beach, hundreds of shops bars restaurants etc. The staff here was so welcoming and so lovely espically towards my daughter. We arrived at 11 at night and they had left us some food our which was a lovely gesture. Food was lovely, very good for an all inclusive, lovely pool areas, never had any problem getting sunbeds at any time of day. My 5yr old loved the splash pool. The pool areas was very clean, the staff was always around collecting empty glasses etc. The WiFi was good only 7euros for the week. We had a lovley view from room 211 could see all 3 pools. I will definitely return to this hotel without a doubt.
RECEPTION: seemed nice at the arrival, then not so informed about everything that was going on in the hotel, not to say uninformed :/ good to know that they can help you rent a car. ROOMS: amazing sea view as well during the day as in the evening, quite tight for a 4-person family by still comfortable and attractive, flat TV with HDMI and USB input allowed us watch movies we brought with us - a little small though; average air-condition (old-fashioned, no remote), very useful dryer on the balcony, refrigerator, beds protected with special sheets against kids accidents with all kind of liquids;) BATHROOM: nothing to complain about, hairdrier, towels soaps, additional mirror for make-up, everything was ok. CLEANING SERVICE: it was very slow and not so good at the same time, the beds were make, the towels changed if indicated, but I don't think they spend any time on dusting or cleaning :( the cleaning lady happened to forget to lock the balcony when leaving :( FOOD: different everyday but not very good, usually some meat with a starch thickened sauces (horrible), or deep oil fried meat/fish/vegetables; the dishes had fancy names but had nothing to do with the original taste, soups looked as if cooked with leftover - always blended so that I could not recognize the ingredients, desserts usually made from tons of cream, tasteless, cheap icecream in cups - also tasteless. Once a week on Thursdays there was a special welcome supper for newcomers: sparkling wine, prawns, fusion looking menu - don't miss Thursday suppers! AL DENTE RESTAURANT: once during your stay you can have a supper a la carte. Sounds right? The choice of dishes is really narrow, however, I hoped it was good quality at least. No, it isn't. CAPRESE salad with hard mozarella instead of soft one, no sign of basil, water crest instead, no garlic olive, TAGLIATELLE with SALMON: badly fried salmon (soft skin instead of crunchy, probably heated in a microwave), the fish and the pasta were on the plate separately, no sauce on pasta - I expected a composed dish, not just ingredients put on the plate; TIRAMISU: made of flavoured whipped cream only (no mascarpone), sponge cake soaked with brownish liquid with no taste. If I was to pay for the dished I would have sent everything back to the kitchen. SNACK BAR: hard to say, hamburgers, salads swimming in mayonnaise, deep fried onion rings, generally not really healthy nor fit BARS: quite good, the drinks were a bit too sweet but you could always add some water, coco for kids, granita, popsicles. POOL AREA: very nice, very clean, 3 of them including one with water slides, the one thing that might seem negative is the avaibility of the sunbeds - you have to reserve it in the morning if you want to make sure you're gonna get one. ENTERTAINMENT FOR KIDS: the hotel kids club was difficult to join, it was usually closed, on the other hand the Thomas Cook club worked perfectly but only for Thomas Cook guests for free. Evening entertainment was ok: snakes, parrot shows, mini disco. ENTERTAINMENT FOR ADULTS: so so, I liked only the magician who hypnotised one of the guests - that was cool. Wi-Fi: free in lobby (poor range), 7,5 euro for a week in you want better connection including your room - works pretty well if I could watch netflix with it. SURROUNDING: the area is beautiful, two big sandy beaches, shops everywhere, restaurants, playgrounds, caffees.
Where do I start! Been here for three days and no new towels or bedding. Rooms are very small and very old fashioned. Given to teacups with one teabag and a kettle. Paid for all inclusive however no water in the fridge or juices which can be difficult with a child. The air con is also not very good quality. I am 3 months pregnant and I can't eat half the food ( seafood, cheeses and uncooked meats) as it would be a risk to my baby. I asked if I could have something else was given chips and over cooked dry chicken. I have eaten the same food ( pasta, chips and salad and bread). I spent over £1,600 on this holiday not worth it. When I booked I was told all day entertainment for children however the entertainment is 2 hours in the morning 2 hours in the afternoon. My son is already getting bored he is 6. I wished I never booked this hotel. On a positive note there is a very nice receptionist called Dani who was very helpful with trying showing us where are the best places to eat are. And where to order a takeaway from as I can't face eating chips again. Please avoid this hotel. Save your money. This is no where near a 4 star hotel.
Amazing hotel, extremely clean, airconditioned rooms. Great bathroom with bath and shower. Everything you could possibly want for children & families. The food was good with multiple choices and buffet bar for kids. Great kids club with kids disco, face painting and entertainment every night. The staff were fantastic and very helpful. Would definitely go back
We are currently half way through a 2 week stay here it is our 3rd visit in 5yrs and we are happy to say the hotel may have a new name but is as great as ever What really makes this hotel so special is the staff in particular Tony, Iza and Jose they do everything in there power to make sure your holiday is special they are a credit to the hotel My only negative from a fantastic hotel is the air con could be a lot better The Thomas cook and hotel run kids clubs are great fun for the kids and give the parents some much needed r&r time the beach is just a short stroll away and your in very close proximity to plenty of shops bars and restaurants I can't understand some of the poor reviews here a holiday is what you make of it and if you've got nothing better to do that sit around moaning all day you'll never have a fun holiday We are having a fantastic holiday thank you very much aluasun torrenova After we leave next week we will certainly be back again
Sooo...... we had an amazing holiday here 2 years ago. That's why we choose to go back never again.! So check in was fine room it's self was ok. 4 beds pushed together. My 5 year old daughter slipped and hurt her bottom on the floor for us to discover there was water dripping out of the light fitting. My oh went down to report it and was told they d send a handyman up He came up and rang down and said he'd be back up later as he was busy I requested to move rooms but couldn't as 4 rooms had been moved due to problems with previous rooms. Later after my oh and been back down as handyman hadn't returned the asisstentmanager was rude and did even ask how our daughter was. And new there was a problem with the room aircon. We reported it to or reps thomas cook. The beds were not changed once in the week. The cleaners never did the rooms how they were done 2 years ago. Literally made the beds (badly). My daughter hurt her toes in the pools not sure if it was the tiles or the sides. None of the arcade machines worked or if they did the next day didn't. The food was poor the entertainment staff of the hotel were poor no enthusiasm. Bearing in mind it's only the beginning of busy season. On a night 2 years ago they used to us the sunbed round the pool for safety reasons I guess. That no longer happened. The only good thing iv really got to say it the weather was amazing from start to finish and the thomas cook kids entertainers where lovely. You don't expect this when you pay £2000 for a holiday very disappointed won't be returning. Was looking forward to this holiday. No way a 4 star. They'd be lucky to get 2 stars.
