Beautiful environment but accommodation and facilities not up to scratch
The apartment complex was lovely and quiet, the gardens were beautiful and the apartment was spacious, and the on-site Thai Restaurant was excellent. Unfortunately, everything else did not live up to a supposed 4-star property because:
- Kitchen appliances, glasses and crockery were greasy so we had to wash them before we could use them.
- Requests to fix blown light bulbs, missing kitchen crockery (no wine glasses, frypan) were not actioned.
- Floors hadn't been cleaned well (wrapper on the bedroom carpets when we arrived).
- The lanai was gorgeous, however was full of insects and we were badly bitten so couldn't use it in the end.
- Reception was only open during weekday business hours.
The biggest disappointment for us were the four pools, which were so cold that we couldn't use them. With daily temperatures in the mid to high 20's, the pools were the main reason we chose this property. I've had heated pools before in Cairns so I never thought to check this out at the booking stage.
