Great, perfect location. Could not be better! Warm, windy weather in October. Felt like summer. Via our travel agency we could only book very small room. I would not recommend this!. With luck we could update to a junior suite which is really recommendable. We booked only breakfast but as well took some meals in the restaurant. Good quality! But perhaps due to end of season perhaps not enough service people... Rota as location is great. Long beaches and nice little old village center. And a good starting point for some trips to Andalusian high lights.
This is my second time I am staying at hotel Playa de la Luz in Rota. Like the first visit, this second visit was very good. I like the location of the hotel by the beach of the Atlantic Ocean, the fresh air, the space to take walks with feet in or out of the water, and with plenty of sunshine, this is hard to beat! The personnel at all stations is friendly and helpful, and the breakfast spread, a pleasure for the tongue.
An amazing location for a relaxing beach holiday. The communal & pool area's were immaculately presented. Room was clean & spacious. Although there was a mini bar (sparsely loaded), there was no tea or coffee facilities.
We've had many previous visits but came away rather underwhelmed. The hotel was full but the management had clearly decided to 'wind' it down. Trading areas were not used to their full potential, staffing levels were minimal and menu offerings quite basic at times. These were not situations we'd witnessed before!
This is my fourth time staying there. I have brought my family with me once before, the kids loved it. Nice pool, great service, and friendly staff. I will be staying there again on my next trip. Highly recommended.
We chose this hotel based on a Trip Advisor suggestion. We were delighted from the first moment at checkin. We ate lunch in the beach bar, read by the gorgeous pool and had supper in the Sherry Bar. The b’fast buffet is cheaper if you purchase it at checkin (10 euros). The rooms are modern and elegantly equipped. We think this is an undiscovered treasure.
This lovely hotel is right on the beach with a great beach bar. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. We have stayed here numerous times over the past 10 years and have never been disappointed. We'll certainly be booking again for next year.
Wonderful views. The best the junior suit with sea view, you are literally on the beach. Excellent service and friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast buffet the best I have had, all quality food. Recomendó la gaviota restaurant for dinner and lunch, beautiful tapas ( tortillitas de camarones, chocos fritos, huevos rotos con gulas y gambas... some of our favourites). Big and comfortable room, I only put a low mark for the bed, need to be renewed (better mattress could be wonderful). Excellent común areas swimming pools and gardens.
I visited and stayed in this hotel for a wedding party of two very dear friends. Many of the wedding guests were staying at the hotel for a few days. I did arrived at around 13.30 and the staff at the reception made me feel very welcome, I was given a junior suite which was bigger that my last house. The swimming pool was lovely and I had amazing sea views. My bathroom was huge and I could have spent hours on that shower, towels were fluffy and so was the mazing bathrobe provided. Beds were very confy and the rooms were very clean. My only criticism could be that the decor was a bit old and that the beds were separate and I would have much rather preferred a large king size.. this is just down to personal taste and did not influence in me enjoying my stay. We went to celebrate the wedding on their chilled out open bar at 6pm, everything looked amazing and once again the staff were very very nice and very attentive. All the waiters and the metre were hard woking making sure we had plenty of drinks, food and any other thing that we could need. We moved downstairs for the party, once again I like to mention the incredible service, specially the last two members of the staff that stayed with us until the end always with a smile on their faces. Lovely desserts and nibbles were served downstairs too so we could top up on energy :) I checked out the day after only wishing I had booked for longer and enjoy their lovely premises and location.
If you are planning to stay at this hotel with children, then a word of warning - some family rooms have no outside space making it impossible for you to put your children to bed and sit outside and enjoy your evening. Rooms 30 and 31 should be avoided at all costs! Also rooms 38 and 45 have this set up. At point of booking request an outside seating area as the garden rooms around the pool are delightful and to the side of the hotel are calmer. Beachside location is fabulous.
