Starting with the positive, this hotel sits right next to the beach. On a quiet night, you can hear the waves from some of the rooms. Housekeeping also has done a terrific job o keeping the room squeaky clean. But that's as good as it gets. The downside of the place, for starters, begin with the maintenance of the hotel. The room I stayed in needs some desperately needed maintenance such as water-logged doors. Then there is the added cost of parking - surprise, it's not free! There is parking out along the street if you can find it - at the risk of being vandalized! It almost feels like a conspiracy that the hotel has with the town, forcing hotel guests to pay the extra parking fees... The messy, paper-littered, poor excuse of a front desk is a small hole in the wall, that it is obvious they forgot to include one when the building was designed. But the worst part about the place are the front desk staff - they're some of the meanest I have ever dealt with. Instead of treating hotel guests in a professional, courteous and friendly manner, they have this maligned attitude and belief that guests owe them a favor! It's no wonder that they would not assign me to the bigger size room I clearly paid for, even after showing them my reservation, insisting I take the smallest room they could find!

Excellent location!! Room, restaurant and staff are wonderful!

Love this place! Will definitely stay again!!! Perfect location to lots of food and shopping

Room service (Chari) the best ever, we were in 223 and every day amazing! Victoria at front desk on top of everything. Breakfast Host Antonia... wonderful and food perfect. Manuel pool bar... great service. Close to every thing. Super clean hotel!

It does not get any better than this. If you are looking for the best hotel in the old town Rota, Hotel Duque de Najera is it. Location is on the waterfront at the Rota Marina. The best beach in Rota is just a few steps from the hotel pool, which is absolutely a beautiful ammenity. The staff is friendly and accomodating in every sense. They bend over backward to accomidate your every request. The rooms are comfortable, though the beds follow European traditon in that two singles are pushed together to create a double, the mattresses are frim and the pillows small. Nevertheless, I slept well every night. The shower is better than any hotel in the United States. Strong water pressure and instant hot water.

The hotel was very clean and professional, bathroom was extremely roomy and nice for Europe; was a bummer the pool was cold and closed and that you had to pay for foosball and ping pong, bike use but oh well. In the offseason not all of the restaurants were open- they rotated. We missed the tapas restaurant for dinner but they had great happy hour. Rota in general is not easy to get to without a car so factor in a pricey (30 euro) taxi ride from the nearest train station if you don't rent a car... Front desk was pleasant but not overly helpful.

This is a wonderful hotel. Great, friendly hotel cadre. Great rooms in a wonderful location on the water and the edge of town. Irish Pub across the street. The only thing that keeps this from being a "top choice" is most of the clientele are vacationers and the hotel doesn't serve breakfast until 0800. So if you're there on business find somewhere else to eat breakfast....

The hotel is perfect for travelers who want quality when traveling, it´s the perfect hotel to relax, take a walk on the beach...
