Disgusting and sketchy. When booking a Motel 6, we expected a clean room with a roof over our heads, nothing fancy. We did not expect this to be operating as a homeless shelter. People need a chance to get their lives on track, fine but this was not disclosed to us.
The premises were full of dilapited vehicles, sketchy charachters reeking of tobacco, weed, and crack. We had to change rooms because there was blood on the sheets and light switches as well as some mystery stain in the bathrub. All this despite there being a card from housekeeping saying the room had been cleaned that day (9/24).
When we went to change rooms, the person at reception didn't question any of it and just said the room hadn't been cleaned so allowed us to switch rooms. The new room had at least been cleaned.
Other issues we noticed were strange sounds throughout the night, a half-dozen shedding dogs that we crossed baths with inside the hotel, and what appeared to be the laundry room that was being used both by staff and guests, giving us the impression that the bedsheets were being washed in the same machines that drug-addicted homeless people were washing who-knows-what in.
We booked two nights but only stayed one. On the morning we left, management was going around knocking on doors. I'm not sure if this was to collect payments or check on ODs but either way, we got out of there pretty fast.
C'mon, guys. Get it together.
